Gave up wine for Lent, hope this helps, trying to keep my caloric intake at about 1500 per day. Doing "burst training" and a new weight training routine. Lifting more/heavier wts than ever…
  • What are the results for some of you for 30DS? I started a week ago. Would love to hear the weight lost.
  • The Sephora brand works really well, I usually apply in morning and after lunch.
  • mine is public, i'm not really proud of it though :blushing: The last few days I have had a lot of Dove dark chocolate, in fact, I think that was my whole lunch yesterday.... wow.
  • I am 44 and I strength train 5-6 days per week. I have toned up considerably since May--I started a new weight training program then, even though I've strength trained for 5 years or more. May was when I put a real effort into it- by that I mean, watching what I eat, eating good for me foods, eating enough and…
  • no, I'm 44, I keep forgetting how old I am!!! :blushing:
  • I believe it can be done also, I am 45, it has taken me about 4 months to really see progress, but I would say just dig your heels in and be strong. I would recommend interval training and pilates and core excercises. Also, change your routine up frequently, this really keeps your body guessing. You can do it, if you make…
  • WOW! very enlightening-- I eat fiberone bars ALOT... i guess I need to cut back on these!!!
  • I know Kashi has a low cal frozen pizza, but I wasn't impressed. I think if you get a thin crust and opt for veggies instead of meat, you should be ok with 2 normal size slices. I had some pizza hut pizza last week, ate one slice with veggies and one slice with meat and STOPPED EATING, and i still was pretty much within my…

  • I love to make an omelet using them, I use different veggies, but try sauteing spinach first, then cook the eggbeaters and and spinach and fold into omelet. Top with non-fat or reduced fat feta cheese. YUM.
  • does your HRM have calories burned on it? I just wondered, I have a REALLY old one and it just gives me time and my average hr... :grumble: I would love a new one, and yours sounds like a great price.
  • Congrats! That's almost better than seeing it on the scale! It makes it 10x better when you get a compliment! :flowerforyou:
  • Cute dog!! I do this more in the fall and winter-- it's hot down here right now in Alabama!! :glasses:
  • Ghanie is exactly right! I cannot believe how different my clothes fit since really increasing my strength training. My arms look totally different now, I never thought my arms would look this good at 44. Not that they are GREAT-- but they are great for me. I just wish I wasn't losing my "behind" because my clothes are…
  • Thanks for the info-- I am in the midst of this right now and have added afternoon workout and adjusted my eating habits and the scale is finally moving downward!
  • try not to beat yourself up over it. Sometimes I'll add a quick workout in the evening if I know I might go over. Just try to do better tomorrow---!:ohwell:
  • Where do you find quinoa? I don't even know what it is  Is it in the same aisle as rice or is it in the pasta aisle?
  • I talked to someone who trains athletes a few weeks ago and he told me that it's important to not do the same thing day after day or week after week because your body will get used to it and you will reach a "plateau" of sorts with your workout and/or weight loss. I try to use the elliptial, treadmill, tae bo videos and…
  • great suggestion!

  • I like tuna, I guess I need to look for low sodium tuna - this is not something I look at when I shop, so this will be a new thing - i watch for a good balance of carbs, fat, protein etc, now I have to look at sodium also-- :noway:

  • do you think Total cereals are as good as Kashi? I am just wondering because of the ads they run on tv and they have that really good pomegranate cereal that is soooo good.
  • wow, that was really interesting. it looks like this concept is working for you. Are you a vegetarian? I need to look up some high fiber foods because this is confusing to me as to what foods are high fiber. Thanks for your input and I will got to the vegetariantimes.com link to read more! :flowerforyou:
  • I definitely could eat better, I go thru phases.l do like to eat, so I'd just as soon excercise more - and I figured, what the heck, noone knows me so the criticism won't bother me!:flowerforyou:
  • I do wear a HRM but it doesn't give me calories, just avg hr. I usually deduct about 15-20% from what the machine says I burn.l try to keep hr at about 120-128. Thanks for the feedback.
  • I actually just finished logging my calories-- so I ate almost all my calories. Last week I ate mostly cereal for dinner cuz husband was out of town-- i was lazy!
