Low fat Activia yoghurt. Bleurch.

Type 1 or type 2? Either way, you should probably consult a dietician

On the I phone app you can switch that off by clicking 'more' then selecting 'steps' and then ticking the option not to track

I don't think there's any value in forcing yourself to eat when not hungry, I'd say that's even undesirable. Eat when you need to, only you know your body. I can't skip breakfast, in fact it's usually one of my bigger calorie meals. Dinner on the other hand, I often have just a snack, e.g. Fruit, because that's how my body…

Tofu. But make sure you cook it properly. Badly cooked tofu is dire, well cooked tofu is a pleasure.

I'm on 1500 base points, and I generally eat about half my exercise points. I aim at 500-600 for breakfast, any less and I get very hungry by lunchtime. I've never understood why very low cal breakfast was desirable - that's the fuel that sets you up for the day, but then I'm a morning person and at my most active in the…

Sorry for your loss. Right now, your short term well being is more important. You need to grieve, and you don't need to worry about calorie counting. Take care.

Unless you have an actual gluten intolerance, there is no benefit to a gluten free diet.
-
For accurate counts on homemade stuff, use the recipe function, and just add in all the ingredients, including any oil used for cooking.

Gluten intolerance can be diagnosed later in life than at 24, but should be diagnosed before adopting a gluten free diet. There is no reason for someone without a gluten intolerance to cut it out, and as others have said it just makes life complicated. My husband has coeliac disease, and gluten crops up in all sorts of…

You have my sympathies - I badly sprained one ankle and did something random to the other falling down some stairs 8 weeks ago and they still aren't right. The single most important thing is to allow your injury to heal - but you know that :-) Can you do upper body cardio work? Things like punches. That should help keep…

They dont just stock supplements etc. They also do a wide range of beauty products. I love the manuka honey stuff they do - I think its Dr Organics.

You need to see a proper medical dietician to get decent advice on a diet that will suit your medical requirements.

Personally, I am a breakfast fan, but you should never be forcing yourself to eat. If you aren't hungry at breakfast-time, don't eat it :)
-
Don't force yourself to eat if you aren't hungry. That's how we all put weight on, we ate food our bodies didn't really need. One of the most important lessons for me has been listening to my body's needs, and eating when I am hungry and not when I am not.

Also http://www.swimming.org/swimfit/ might have some ideas

Try doing some kick only lengths, either with a swimming float or without. Excellent for leg work and for improving general technique.
-
Swimming is excellent exercise for weight loss. It uses the whole body, and the water creates some resistance too.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Lucky escape.

Fruit is wonderful. Chock full of vitamins and minerals and fibre, and delicious to boot.
-
I never have a complete day off, even if I don't swim or do a 'workout' I will walk the dog - like you I find canine conduct is related to exercise levels :-)

On ice... Ice should only be used for new injuries as it helps reduce inflammation. It is not helpful for old injuries.

Have you sought medical advice? You need to identify the underlying cause. For example, in my case it is a tight Achilles that causes my occasional bouts of PF, so calf stretches help prevent recurrence. Special shoes, heel pads, etc, are just gimmicks unless you know what is causing it.

Please note the following comments apply to the UK only. A dietician is a licensed medical specialist who has to go through set training and hold certain qualifications. You can trust a dietician to know what they are talking about. By contrast, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. No qualifications or registration…

If eyesight is the main thing putting you off swimming, you can get prescription swimming goggles. I dont have a company name I'm afraid but I've met people who've got them for around £15 - £20, and decent normal goggles can cost that.

Larger portions? My husband and I eat the same cooked meals but he has a little more than me (except of veggies, I usually have more of those).

Mix up your dog walks a bit - if they will play with a ball or similar run after it with them and things like that. More fun and bonding with the dogs too :-) Also if you're short of time look up High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) or Tabata.

400-500, sometimes even up to 600, depends on whether I've worked out pre-breakfast, how I'm feeling etc. If I try and skimp on breakfast I pick all day.

Do you have access to plates/bowls? If so - bagged salad stuff, maybe with some houmous or coleslaw or whatever tickles your fancy as a flavouring. Salad vegetables are pretty low in calories leaving you scope for additions. Some supermarkets sell little snack single packs of houmous which would avoid the problem of…

I've had problems with it in the past, and still have occasional flare ups. Things that helped me; - steroid injections treated the initial flare up - calf stretches - apparently I have a tight achilles tendon which contributes to the PF, so the best way to manage that is calf stretches - flat shoes - on the rare occasions…
