  • Hey There! I totally here ya on that. I tried Jillian's 30 day shred several times and never got around to doing more than 2 days in a row and would just pick it up here and there. However, on May 1st a group of 3 ladies, myself included, started her shred. It's the 24th day and yes, I've skipped a couple days here and…
  • reply in ONE word: visualization. I was watching a documentary with Jeremy last night and they talked a lot about visualizing your progress- where you want to be when you're finished. I guess it has a lot to do with connecting with the subconscious. Our brain and heart work on a subconscious level. The man in the…
  • Well, I've reintroduced some desserts into my life, but I'm not going crazy over them like I had done for the previous 3 months. I mean, if there were a batch of cookies I'd eat them all, sharing a few with my kids...terrible, I know. I had so many sweets given to us during the holidays. It was torturous. Now I eat one or…
  • 30 grams a day. What does that look like? I'm not certain about grams. I just cut out refined sugars and am only eating natural sugars found in fruits, honey, molasses, etc. That seems to be working for me. Sorry you have belly trouble with sugar. that's tough.
  • I'm not going to be super spiritual about it. I'd much rather have a beautiful face. Of course the other options for a personality are more important, but to answer the question very specifically- a beautiful face.
  • That's a great goal- cutting out sugar, at least processed sugar cane. I still eat plenty of things with natural sugars like fruit, yogurt, and honey. I've finished my 21 day "sugar fast" but this week I've had a couple of desserts, but I was so much more in control of it all!
  • It seems like taking a break from sugar has done more than help me lose a few pounds. It has really helped my body to reject all unnatural sugars like that in store bought desserts. I had some chocolate covered pretzels yesterday and I had severe stomach pains for the entire evening. This is a good sign, I think, because…
  • not sure what you are referring to or why you are sad.
  • Hey there, it's me, I mean, it's you! lol. You've reached 148, that's something to be proud of. Plateau's are just a part of this whole thing.
  • My husband has done a 21 day vegan detox last year. He is going to do it again this January. He said that it was completely life changing. He wishes he had enough gumption to keep at it for the most part for the rest of his life. He has a lot of anxiety, heart palpatations, reflex issues, gas, foggy head/mind, sleep…
  • Looking great!!! I love those success stories.
  • Congratulations!! That's an amazing accomplishment!
  • Really, the gall bladder removal is a very simple procedure. It's about 45 minutes and I recovered very well.
  • Hello there. I really believe I can answer this one with education and experience. I had severe pain after my first child was born. I only weighed 135 pounds, but like you, I was nausious and in extreme pain. I went to the doctors and they sent me to the ER to see a surgeon. I didn't feel right about having a surgery about…
  • Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure if this post would get many replies...but I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the encouragement!!!!
  • Hey all you guys and gals, I've started a regular fast and it's really helped me to fell better inside and out. Here's how it works: Every Monday I fast the entire day, drinking only water or juice. No milk. I just stay busy the whole day so I don't think about eating. The hardest part of the day for me is when the kids go…
  • I guess the body shape makes a big difference. I'm 5'3" and can lose a pant size in just 5 pounds. I carry most of my weight in my legs/hips and that's where I lose weight if any. I'm 138 and struggling to get down to 125. I'm a size 12 ( but they are terribly lose) I don't own any 10's but suspect that they'd be tight on…
  • Well, I just totally fell in love with tortilla soup! Here's my recipe. The fun thing is that you can choose what ever veggies you want...whatever is lying around in your fridge, not being eaten. I took this recipe from the better homes and garden recipe book. 1 to 1 1/2 pounds chicken or ground beef/turkey (I've made it…
  • I've heard some things about the Wu Yi Tea. I've heard that it has the same ingredients that the highly caffeinated energy drinks have....and that it messes with your chemical balance... Only educated answers, please... Thanks a bunch
  • Well, here's my only bit of advise...keep reminding yourself that you can do it...that really helps me. Losing weight the healthy way, and keeping it off takes time. You are going to have to make some serious changes....not diets, but changes to your diet....your daily food intake. My weekness is sweets. It never used to…
  • I don't know about you, but my two kids (3.5 and 2 years) are very active. They always want me to play with them. I can't always, of course....you know the cleaning and cooking and balancing the checkbook...and so forth, but I do give them my undivided, and I mean truly, undivided attention at least twice a day for a good…
  • What you're not realizing is that her hubby may not be purposely trying to hurt her feelings. You don't know the whole story...as well as I. But in giving advise to others you have give some benefit of the doubt to the one not able to speak for him/herself. I totally understand in regards to boundaries and so forth...and…
  • I'm a pretty good fan of the rice cakes. they're low in calories and pretty much low in everything...depending on what flavor. they'd be a good snack if you just want to munch but don't want to rack up calories or fat. They don't however have any real significant nutritional value. Suzanne
  • hey, I've had two children and I have only 15 pounds to go. I've been married for over 4 years and have had my fair share of disappointments concerning my hubbie's insensitive comments. Guys just don't always know how to help. They want to help- truly. I'm 145 and need to be at 130. I say all of that to say this: I agree…
  • Today is my son's 2nd birthday and yes, there will be junk food. Another mother and I are hosting this party. We both want to be healthy in our diet and exercise so we decided to go for potato salad rather than chips, pasta salad rather than cheese and crackers, a fruit salad w/ dip rather than...well, actually it didn't…
  • That sounds like good advise. I will definetely try that. I have heard some time ago that doing ab workouts don't work unless you have the cardio. I'm bicycling on a stationary bike 20-30 minutes a day at 16 mi/hr or so...about 4 or 5 times a week...and when my hubby can give me a break I go for a jog which I know burns…
  • hey, so I have two kids and my waiste isn't what it used to be. I'm losing weight, but my stomache doens't seem to be on the same page. So, I'm doing about 50 crunches and 30 side to side thingys 3 times a week. Is this going to be enough or am I going to need to step it up a notch?
  • these are great reply's..thanks so much. At least I know it's normal. I was questioning wether or not I should do something different...I guess it's just all part of the game. Suzy..I'm venturing off to the playground...wish me luck...no, I"m not driving, it's right here where I live.
  • Like many first pregnancies, I gained a ton of water weight and lost is right away (50lbs). And like you, I was determined not to gain too much for the second. I ended up gaining just 25 lbs. What a difference. I think that you can do somthing about how much you weigh, at least to a point. For my second child I was forced…
