  • 42 and would like to lose about 25 more about pounds, I've lost 28 since January. The real trick is maintaining the loss since I've been down this road more times than I would like. I took back up running consistently and am doing an 8K on May 2nd and signed up for my first half marathon in November to force me to stay…
  • I've been doing it since the 17th, feel free to add me too! Seriously needing some food ideas!
  • I love windmills, the clean and press, figure 8s to a hold, and around the body passes (aka slingshot). I also really like doing a high pull and squat, especially when you kind of toss flip the bell.
  • For whatever reason I do think running outside is harder than the treadmill with that being said I only do my runs outside unless I'm absolutely forced to do them on the treadmill due to weather or some other variable like that. I figure if I'm going to participate in any races they're all going to be outside so that's the…
  • You look fabulous! Congrats!
  • Congrats on your NSV! I love having those. I had one this morning...I went to the gas station, where I'm pretty much a regular cause I'm addicted to diet coke, and the cashier said "You have gotten so small". Now I wouldn't say I'm small but it felt good to have someone outside my usual circle notice I've lost weight.
  • Similar here too but I do weight a bit more but I am 40 and 5'1. My husband is 6'6 so you con only imagine the amount of food he can put away and what drives me really crazy is he can decide to just cut out snacking an lose like 20 lbs in a month or less. No exaggeration! He's really fit though.
  • Awesome! Congrats on all your hard work and great advice too!
  • Brooks all the way! I've used a lot of different brands but I always go back to Brooks.
  • Great job! I know the feeling. Last year at this time I had just started the 0 to 5K app since then I've ran a couple of 5Ks, a 10K and am contemplating a half-marathon. Keep up the great work!
  • Great job! You look fantastic!
  • What an inspiring story! Congratulations, you look great!
  • I agree with the use of bands to assist you. I love Woody Bands, they come in three levels to help you progress.
  • Loved it! Thanks for sharing!
  • Congrats, that is awesome!
  • When I did it I initially started doing it on T, Th, Sa but as my 5k date came closer it became more of an every other day thing so it was more like one week T, Th, Sa, the next M, W, F, Su, and so forth. Doesn't seem like much difference but it did have me finishing the program a bit earlier (not by much).
  • This plus a few Kelly Coffey-Myers. I have tons of workout dvds and my favorite place to learn more about them is a site called video fitness, they have a section just for reviews and a great active forum that is searchable. Also if you want to see clips of lots of various dvds try collage video or total fitness dvds.
  • Brilliant! Why didn't I ever think of that! I also just use the ones plug into your ears, the kind that goes behind my ears bug me.

  • I used 0 to 5K and loved it although if you ever think you would like to run more than that I highly recommend the 0 to 10K over it because the first half of it is the 5k one anyways. I could run with my music. It wasn't free but it was worth every penny. Another app that I highly recommend is Stretch Guru for runners. I…
  • I love yurbuds. You can find them on Amazon and some retail stores. I exercise pretty hard, including running and so far I have had no problems with them falling out or getting a short in them from my excessive sweating.

  • You look fantabulous! Congratulations, awesome job!
  • Yep I do. I much prefer it to a gym setting. I have about all the equipment I need and have lots of dvds. I've done some of the Kelly Coffey Myers ones and ChaLean Extreme both excellent but by no means the only ones out there. Right now I'm using kettlebells exclusively for my weight training and am loving it, I don't…
  • I know there are plenty and they think I am crazy for preferring to run outside. Crazy thing is I own a treadmill so it would be easy to just use it while I know there are runners who actually drive to the gym to use the treadmill. I'll admit though the humidity has been killing me here and the treadmill has been…
  • I don't think so. I hate the treadmill and only use it when absolutely forced too. Honestly between the two I find running outside to be harder but I still like it better, the treadmill bores me to death.
  • I'm not doing Turbo Fire exclusively but it's always in my rotation somewhere. I try to do it at least once or twice a week. Love Turbo Fire and Turbo Jam! I used to take Turbo Kick classes at the gym and what was really cool was my instructor was one of the background exercisers in Turbo Fire, she used to talk about…
  • Lol. Funny enough I'm always thinking I need to use those things but I never have. My teeth always look dull to me but then again my husband has had his professionally whitened so I could be comparing mine to his and believe me there is a BIG difference!
  • Thank you so much!!! Seriously turning 40 has taken a harder toll on the ol' self esteem than what I expected.
