I absolutely refuse to put a photo of myself on my Instagram account unless I am at goal weight. I know that my ex is stalking my girlfriend's Instagram, where there are photos of me with my man-boobs and big belly. I want her to see see me at goal weight on my own Instagram.

If you are just starting off, you may want to gradually slide into keto rather than going head on into it, it's a lot easier (at least for me, it is). By that I mean reducing your grams of carbs by x each day, over perhaps a week or two.

Oh, I forgot one strategy. Keep food out of sight. If I can't see it, I'm not forced to think about it. Cans of tuna are fine, but fruit, biscuits etc I always keep hidden away from view.

You mean that little voice inside your head that tells you what not to do? After a while, I have expectations of what it's likely to say, and I just get into various habits. I extremely rarely suffer from overeating guilt (maybe once every year or two) so I have to rely on other strategies.

I don't mind knowing but I'd never ask my girlfriend how much she weighs. The reason is that weight is a highly emotional topic and any perceived pressure from another person can cause problems which might result in weight gain, perhaps for decades. She's never been on a diet and I don't want her to start now.

Hell, yeah.

Yes, but... As you probably know, there are times when weight loss is successful, and there are times when it isn't. You may not want them to see how you are going when you're slowly gaining. Or maybe you do. But would you want them to see you slowly gain over a year with no reversal of course? Because I'm sure that most…

I won't date until I reach goal weight and I am quite lonely so that's my motivation, to not be lonely

I am about 77kg and fit size small shirts.

When you start a diet your body can empty out of mass in your digestive system which causes quite a bit of weight loss. You may also reduce the amount of carbohydrates that you are eating, causing a reduction of glycogen based water in your body. Finally any salt you have within a few days of a weigh in will cause water…

Yep, me too. I recall someone wanted to be as slim and muscular as the Victoria Secret models, and she gained about 25 grams of muscle a day doing lots of exercise (Poppy Cross). That's not a lot. Losing say 100g a day with diet and exercise is not particularly difficult.

Dating. I've put on hold that until I reach goal weight.

I want to reach goal weight by the end of the year. It should be possible given it's only 9kg away. I have a holiday from in a week's time until about the 19th October, then it's all go. I'll be going to the gym numerous times a week and doing low carb. Until my holiday, I'll just be low carbing it, no going to the gym…

It's normal.

Congratulations!

Having looked at numerous weight loss spreadsheets of weight losers (from reddit.com/r/loseit) the largest sustainable weight loss seems to be about 1% per week.

I've done numerous 23.5 hour fasts over the years, where I eat only once a day. Sometimes up to 4-5 days in a row. It's a great way to limit what you eat simply and easily.

There are lots of different solutions to this issue (as you will probably read on this thread later on), but my solution is to weigh yourself daily for a couple of weeks and try to aim for a small but noticable level of hunger. Avoid high energy dense foods such as chocolate. I don't know about other people but I would…

Those body fat scales are fine if you weigh daily and take a month long average on your spreadsheet. Not many people here doing that, I'd guess.

Add me too please.

Being less attracted to people who are large.

Me too please. One of my goals is to lose weight every week, I'm on week 6 so far and want to continue.

She's not male chicken blocking, what's the other gender term?

Do it or stop trying

Yeah this is about weight loss. Stuff people ate, body images etc.

Goal date calculations are always fun, especially when you use a spreadsheet and for some days the expected date is infinity away.

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=density+of+muscle http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=density+of+fat Wolfram Alpha is a computational engine that uses journal papers to gather information and data. I'm not sure whether water would have any effect, its density is halfway between fat and muscle.
