Maintainers - how do you keep your head in the game?
I'm just wondering if you do anything that helps keep your focus towards maintenance, and preventing gains. Are there any traditions, things you do, preventative methods etc that you do which help you stay at your current weight. I'd love to know of any.

If you lost your appetite when you suddenly stopped eating refined sugar
How long did it take until it came back again? I'm finding I have no interest in eating and I only eat because I know that I should. Thanks.

Does the body metabolise protein immediately after eating?
So you have an apple, and within a few hours or so the body is using the remnants of the apple as a supply of energy. But does that happen when you eat protein? Or does the protein gets passed around the bloodstream and get used to repair muscles or whatever? If that is the case, then I shouldn't expect eating protein food…

Reach goal weight by 15 November 2019
This date is an important date for me, and I would love to be at goal weight then. I will be flying overseas and I really want to be at goal weight when I am there. Anyone want to join me? Join up any time. Let's do this!

Has anyone plotted daily intake vs daily gain?
I've started doing that, I want to see what my metabolism is, but I'm just on day 2. If you have done it, how did your number compare to metabolism estimators such as Harris Benedict equation?

It's September. Did you lose weight in August?
And did you lose weight in July, June, May and April as well? If you lost weight 5 months in a row, I want to hear from you. What are you doing? How important is weight loss in your life? Similarly, how important is food in your life? Tell us how it's going for you.

Is keto more suited to high speed weight loss?
Where you can expect relatively high levels of hunger if you did the high carb route? I know that there are other advantages of keto but I don't really have a need for them.

When do you expect to reach goal weight?
I'm just curious when you expect to reach goal weight. I expect that to happen in 12-20 months and I was wondering how it compares to other people here.

Do you look at photos of yourself at goal weight and wonder what your body was like back then?
Because I do. There are 3 particular photos I have, one I really like, one which is okay and another which makes me feel as though I was underweight, although in reality I was the same weight in all three photos. It's been 6 years since I was at goal weight. Do you look wistfully at old photos and try to remember what you…

Cortisol causing weight gain
Recently I read about the hormone cortisol causing weight gain, it's produced when a person is under stress and results in fat cells getting larger, or that's my interpretation of what I read. Does anyone know what the typical rate (ie kilograms per month) of fat increase is for someone under a lot of stress? Any links to…

Any good weight loss chat app groups out there?
I upgraded my smartphone and now I can run multiple apps, and I've downloaded one chat app (that can share photos) and found a few weight loss groups. Apart from the few groups I found, I was wondering if there are any other groups you know of out there?

What's the density of fat and muscle?
Greetings all. Someone recently posted in another thread a photo similar to the photo below. You may have seen similar photos before. Looking at the photo, you'll see muscle and fat with different densities next to each other. Maybe the fat is 3 times bigger than the muscle, as a guess. That seems to contradict what I've…

Weekly weigh-in open group
I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread for people who want to weigh-in weekly. The monthly "lose x pounds in the month of February" groups are good but they don't show long term progress. Choose any day of the week that you like the best. This is an ongoing thread, you can join at any time. Best of luck to all…

Anyone else going sugar free in 2015?
Back in the first half of the year I happened to read online about the Schaub family who went sugar free, and their health and energy improved. I thought I'd try this since I do have a few health and energy issues. I have no idea how long I'll last, but I thought I'd give it a try. Are there any others of you who will do…

Has anyone lost weight at 1% per week?
I thought I'd aim to lose at this rate, I know it's rather arbitrary, but I want to start somewhere. I'm curious as to whether anyone has been able to lose at this rate, and for how long? Thanks.

For those who are, say 30+ years old
How often do you talk on the phone to your siblings, if they don't live in your town? Just curious how I compare. Thanks.

How much of vegetables do you have each day?
I eat 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of vegetables a day, I've found this quite useful for suppressing appetite, I'm curious how much other people have daily. Thanks.

There's a new BMI calculation in town - 1.3*W/(H^2.5)
Just a heads up for those who calculate BMI on a regular basis. If you don't, or don't know what "to the power of 2.5" means or how to calculate it, don't worry, not a big deal. For those who do know how to calculate to the power of 2.5, you can get a more accurate calculation using 1.3 times your weight divided by height…

I never understood the "I can't stop eating" posts until now
I got on a new antidepressant (mirtazapine) and one unfortunate side effect is compulsive eating. So I gained, 6kg in about the same number of weeks. It took me a while to understand what was happening, and also I got into not weighing myself. Anyway, so I understand now when people say that. I solved the issue of…

Is anyone interested in group for the highly motivated?
I was thinking of starting an elimination type group (similar to the Biggest Loser type ones) but the requirements are simple: You have to weigh in weekly, and each weigh in has to be less than the previous weigh in (proof is needed via a photo posted) That's pretty much it, just lose weight every week and prove it. Is…
