  • I've used MFP on and off for years but hopped back on to be in the best shape possible for my wedding next month. I love this site, between staying between 1200 and 1500 calories and Jillian Michael's 30 day shred I'm really happy with how I look!
  • I use Jillian Michaels 30 day shred when I want to see a difference quickly, with 5 weeks you could do all 30 days and a couple weeks of ripped in 30. That and watching your calories is my best advice.
  • I have days like that all the time and especially after taking a break from working out. Usually if I can force myself though one workout the next day I can get into it more. It's like my body remembers how good it feels after I work out from the day before.
  • Oatmeal, I'll have part of a packet of instant oatmeal (depending on how hungry I am) and it keeps me full for a long time.
  • I stop counting calories when I'm at a weight I'm happy with and just weigh myself every so often to make sure I'm staying on track. If I go above a certain weight I hop back on here and watch what I eat until it comes off.
  • 30 day shred worked the best for me as far as an exercise program (in combination with calorie counting) where I felt like I really saw a difference in the way that I look. I highly recommend it.

  • Founders All Day IPA is amazing! Especially for 141 calories a bottle. And no worries about misreading my quote auddii, some beers definitely are worth the calories and that looks like one of them!
  • I'm with Waffle, try some session IPAs! A lot of them are amazing with a ton of hoppiness and I've never found a session with as many calories as a standard IPA.
  • IF gave me a lot of wonderful tools. None of the structured plans worked for me but just trying to only eat 500 calories one day or go 24 hours without eating taught me so much (I couldn't do either of those for a single day). I'm much more aware of when my body needs food as opposed to just wanting it and I know I start…
  • I've played around with IF and I found a very modified version that works for me. On weekdays I eat a small lunch at work (200-300 calories) and have a normal dinner and then I eat pretty much whatever I want on the weekends. It's been a slower process, I've been losing a little under a pound a week, but it fits in my…
  • The Zombies Run! app helps me. I listen to music on Pandora and then the app will pause it to tell me stories about zombies and let me know when I need to run faster because they're right behind me.
  • Your profile picture is really pretty! I've absolutely felt the same way, I think most people do. I've also had times where I thought I was ugly and not good enough but I still liked myself so I think I might understand what you mean there. It was as if I could separate liking my personality and the part that makes me "me"…
  • All the advice has been great, definitely make sure you're eating enough and getting enough water. Aside from that when I'm having an especially hungry day a packet of oatmeal is a huge help for me.
  • I absolutely love it. I've seen more results with Jillian's videos than with any other program. I agree it can get boring but if I can push through a week or two seeing results goes a long way to keep me motivated.
  • I'd love if you added me as well, I could definitely use more friends!
  • I'd love to have more friends on here! Feel free to add me as well! @k8ball3 I absolutely love the 30 Day Shred! I've done a lot of Jillians workouts and that one, Ripped in 30, and 6 week 6 pack are by far my favorite. It's okay if you miss a few days, rest is good for you as long as you keep on going!
  • I'm so glad you started this thread. The same thing happens to me and it's wonderful to know I'm not alone!
  • Haha, I love the update as it's happening. We need more of those on MFP. I'm going to update next time I'm at the gym "Been on the treadmill 1 minute, hate the treadmill. Been on the treadmill 1 minute 30 seconds, still hate treadmill."
  • I love love love that! Have a wonderful time on vacation! If you happen to have time, Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred always makes me feel better in a swimsuit. It's all about being happy with how you feel!
  • That's amazing, you're definitely on the right track. Congratulations and keep doing what you're doing!
  • When I hit my goal weight I stopped logging but weighed myself every week or two. I'm on medicine that made me gain a few pounds so I'm back on here until it comes off and then I'll stop again. As others have said, it's all what works for you. Great job so far!
  • Yeah, it's always awkward explaining to friends why you aren't drinking and eating as much as usual. For drinking, sometimes I say I'm not feeling great (saying "my stomach is feeling a little off" works well), sometimes I say I have to drive later, sometimes I blame the beer and say I'm a little dizzy and need a break.…
  • Such a great post, Kevin Smith is brilliant.
  • Absolutely with rosebette on this one. Enjoy your day tomorrow and if it really bothers you throw in a little extra exercise (running for 10-15 minutes will burn 100 calories).
  • Congratulations! That's a great time!
  • I've heard about breathing patterns but for me unless I take pretty deep breaths through my mouth I struggle a lot. I think you should breathe however is most comfortable for you and as you build up more of a running base it should come a lot easier and you shouldn't need to catch your breath. This might be too advanced,…
  • I'm completely with redwngs and joe3052 on the hobbies, I like to paint and I've noticed that on nights I'm painting I don't want to eat everything in my apartment like I usually do.
  • Jillian Michaels workouts were amazing for me as far as looking more toned. I was counting calories on here too but I was very impressed with the results (I started with 30 day shred).
