  • Frankiesgirlie, Sounds like a good and attractive maintenance weight for you! I’m 5’7’ and 63. These days if at 130-133 my face looks sunken. Not a good look. So I adjusted weight up. Currently 140 and trying to get back to 135. Jean RE: Yes. I moved my maintenance weight up 5 lbs. in my 20s, 30s, and 40s I liked myself at…
  • Have made a few batches of guacamole and it’s been yummy! Along with mashing the avocados I add freshly squeezed lime, minced garlic, a little chopped onion, some chopped tomato, pinch of salt, and cilantro. It’s quick and easy and yummy. Thanks again for all the responses! Jean
  • Susan, Thanks for your post. It sounds like 155 would be a great weight for you! But only you know how you feel so trust yourself. Always here to help cheer you on. • Agree it was a mistake to delete it. I miss the give and take and encouragement and just social updates of friends. Been here for 10 years.
  • Thanks for all your ideas! Making a batch tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes 😋
  • Happy to be your friend! Have been here for 10 years. You can do this!!
  • Adventurista and Margaret- Thanks for the great ideas! So helpful to have fellow caregivers here! Hugs, Jean
  • Well it’s been a few years since I started this thread. And a lot of changes. Still caregiving but more intense round-the-clock for my elderly Mom. Weight crept up over these years so I’m looking to lose again - new GW 135 with optimal weight 132 if possible. Starting with adding regular exercise - tricky with this…

  • Good luck on your journey and congrats for starting it! Life is often demanding and distracts us from our own needs and goals. I’m here to cheer you on! I’m caregiver for my 92 yr old Mom. And have health challenges. Learning to prioritize and fit in my health and wellness goals and I know you will, too!! Let’s do this!!
  • Give it time. Slow and steady really does ‘win the race’ for weight loss. Good luck and I know you’ll be successful! Be patient. It’ll pay off.

  • Save the Newsfeed!! It’s what’s kept me on MFP for 10 years. No reason to stay without it.
  • I do NOT miss those painful, inconvenient periods AT ALL!! I do get hot flashes, but I’ll take them anytime over periods :) Thanks for the great post!!! Love your perspective.... now what to do about the vag dryness?????
  • Hi everyone and thanks for all your responses. Some of you asked for clarification. I would love to strengthen my abs and I hope in doing so will also help appear less ‘jelly belly’ and more healthy. I am eating at deficit and working towards losing additional 6-7 pounds. Currently 5’ 7” and 137lbs. My frame is small. Goal…
  • Thx. How long is best to hold planks? New to this so not sure if start with less time then work up to holding longer? Also when you plank are you supposed to tense up and hold in stomach muscles? Just learning and want to do it right. Thx!
  • My goal is to walk at least 15 minutes a day but ideally 30 minutes!! I sometimes break it up due to schedule into 2 walking sessions. Today walked 32 minutes - indoors to music! I have health challenges (Lupus) so sometimes even 15 minutes is a challenge. I’m determined tho. Gotta get these last 7 pounds off to feel…
  • Just over 30 minutes walking 3.5 miles/hr - 2 miles total. Have to go easy with exercise due to health condition so feel really happy when can do it!!!
  • I walk indoors in circles in family room during cold weather and put on music for momentum. Usually 30 minutes. Also use light dumbbells for upper body toning. I stretch afterwards. And stairs are great for calf raises! Hope this helps!
  • Once in a while will have a Diet Coke as a treat. Usually avoid it tho because of caffeine and chemicals. But I do love a nice cold glass of Diet Coke over ice!
  • Yuck! Dark chocolate covered almonds
  • Thanks for all the yummy suggestions! I packed hard boiled egg, mozzarella cheese stick, packet of almonds, rolled salami & cheese, apple slices, and cucumber. And a bottle of water. Snacks, lunch & lite breakfast covered. Thx again - Jean
  • Wow!!! Great job!
  • I’m on the go most of the time as a caregiver. I pack breakfast and lunch - usually hard-boiled eggs, rolled deli meats like salami, pre-packaged cheese like Laughing Cow wedges or Baby-Bell mini rounds, cucumber slices, and raw almonds.
  • Yes I log every day and plan to continue. It will be 4 years in July for me. Keeps me aware and accountable ;)
