SophieRosieMom wrote: »Machka - many, many hugs. It's so hard physically and emotionally to move from a place you really like - even love. I went through this when we sold the farm, for DH's health reasons. I had similar thoughts, and sometimes still have tremendous sadness - I loved that way of life, as hard as it was. I have to remind myself it's just part of life and part of the process and I can't live in the past. And I have so much to be grateful for right now.
I'm really hoping once you get moved, your DH's condition will stabilize and maybe even improve a bit. Some new and different challenges to negotiate perhaps? Our move gave my DH a boost.

One of the main reasons we chose the place is the flat terrain.
He found the place we're leaving increasingly difficult to negotiate with the hill, the stairs here and there throughout the garden, the weird slope-y sidewalk with stairs. You can kind of see the weird slope-y sidewalk with stairs coming around the right side of the house in the photo here. Each sidewalk slab slopes, then drops to the next sloping slab. And no handrails! I've never liked them ... they're terrifying in any kind of high heels, and he's had falls.
But for him, going out into the garden to do something has become exhausting and potentially dangerous, so I found that I was taking on more and more in the garden.
Then, although the area where we live is beautiful, it is also quite hilly, with poorly maintained sidewalks, so he had given up on walking almost entirely. We used to walk together, but in the last couple years, I've walked alone.
And cycling ... this area is going through a massive increase in housing developments so the traffic has also gone through a massive increase. We don't feel comfortable cycling on most roads around here anymore. Plus we can't cycle from home because of the hills.
So ... the new place is in a flatter area and our yard is just about as flat as you're going to get it in the greater Hobart area.
He has expressed enthusiasm for doing things in the yard again and for going for walks with me! Plus we can cycle from home and there are a number of decent cycling routes around.
I am hoping that for both of us our fitness will improve and our energy will improve.

Heather ... yes, I can declutter one bit at a time. Starting with the Peace Lily plants ...Margaret might understand... that were given to me 3-1/2 years ago when my son died. I've honored them, watered them and cajoled them to live long enough. They're now ugly and they're going.
I would have this house decluttered in a heartbeat if I didn't live with two guys (husband and adult son) who keep and apparently have emotional attachments to everything. I am not of the same mind.
Beth
Peace lilies are really resilient plants ... they don't like a lot of water, and if they look like they're about to die, a little bit of water will bring them right back to life again. They also don't seem to need a lot of natural light. They're my kind of indoor plant ... easy to take care of. We have quite a few of them in our office (they are the standard office plant - you'll see at least one in just about every office you go into here) and I've got one at home. And they can be planted outside. They grow to enormous sizes outside ... great for a border along a fence, if you have a lot of them, or a feature in a corner.

former hubby- YES- we are best friends. Started as friends WAY back when I was in 7th grade, he was in 9th.
How did you and your current husband get together?

I like this because it is not just about breathing, it's about solving whatever is causing the problem.

Rebecca - Athena and Eli are adorable.
Machka - when we moved here we had a fair bit of time, it seemed to take forever because we did a bit at a time. I don’t know that I would ever do it that way again.
Barbara - Glad your phone is ok. I got mine wet a couple weeks ago and it’s scary waiting to see if it will work or not. Mine was just utter absentmindedness. I was out with Michaela and when we got home I sat my phone and keys on the bench while I watered the plants. I then watered the hanging pot above the bench. Michaela pipes up and says, “Grammie you’re watering your phone.”🤦🏻♀️
Heather - It sounds like a wonderful visit.
It will be nice to have her in August.
You’re doing so well, you’ll be back to running soon.
Absolutely Rodger and I have been friends since I was 13 years old. I don’t think I would like him as “just a husband”. 😂
Flea - that looks so pretty!
Barbara - having a community is so important.
You can always find someone that knows someone to help with your problem.
Just like we have here for so many different things.
Annie - it’s hard when your dad wants to go home.
My Mom went into a home in Dec 2017, in July 2018 my brother took her “out home” for my nephew’s birthday. She didn’t recognize where she was, and wanted to go home to the nursing home. My brother’s house was on my parent’s and grandparents property and at that time her house was still standing. It made me teary.
Lisa - I don’t like wet feet or wet shoulders unless I’m in a pool or shower.
It’s so nice to see you feeling better.
My dear Kaitlyn has a plant love going on now and has really started to enjoy houseplants and outside pots. I had to share your story of the poor aloe Vera.
I jumped into the WABAC machine yesterday with a friend I hadn’t talked with in forever. It was a nice little catch-up.
Lanette - those types of meals are my favourites and probably what we’ll be having the next couple of days here. It was 30C today and supposed to be 34C on Wednesday.
You’re celebrating Christmas in July, just like the stores and WNetwork. 🇺🇸🎄
Machka - The biggest hugs to you. I only joined this group because of you in the beginning. It didn’t take long for me to start caring and enjoying everyone, but it was you that had me keep coming back everyday for that first couple of weeks. Your DH had just had his accident, you were coming on daily to give an update and I kept coming to look for your update. Since that time you have carried so much and you have done it with dignity and grace. I’m sure there are times when you have wanted, and may have, raged into the ocean you haven’t shown it. I’m so honoured to have a friend with your strength. I hope that once the move is finished you can take some time to relax and enjoy your beautiful new home and new beach. You deserve to enjoy this time with your husband and hopefully your burdens ease a bit for a long time.
Beth - I hope things settle and you can start getting rid of things to make your house a home again. It’s such a mental burden when we are living in cramped or messy quarters.
Margaret - I don’t know how you are keeping up with two houses. Will you be selling one eventually?
Rita - it’s sure better to be safe than sorry. Those hackers sure can cause havoc.
There is a new movie that came out called Thelma. It is about a grandmother who gets scammed by the scheme where the grandchild calls and needs money. It is an independent film, the writer/director’s grandmother had it attempted, she didn’t fall for it but it’s his imagining what would have happened if she had. The actress was 94 when it was filmed and she’s riding a scooter, she was interviewed as well and said she did all of her own stunts but one or two.
Vicki - my husband watches NASCAR too and a whole bunch of other stuff I would never watch. We rarely watch tv together anymore.
Allie - what a cute painting. Prayers for your brother.
Debbie - I don’t know how you stay married to someone you’re not friends with. Does your current DH have any concerns with how you’re best friends with your ex? My DH wouldn’t stand for that for one minute.
Well I applied at a couple of placement agencies today and then I got a call about an application I put in 12 days ago.
It is at a nursing home here in the city doing the job I was doing at the previous manor. It is even using the same programs and a lot of the company policies.
I had interviewed there last Spring for a different position before I went on my sick leave and during the interview ended I told them I didn’t want to waste their time as it was paying less than I was making.
This will be paying the same or better than I was making , the benefits, RRSP and vacation and sick days are all very similar I believe.
When she called today she was calling to ask me if I had interviewed there last year, she confirmed herself by saying I know it is, I recognized your voice when you answered the phone, she told me I obviously made an impression and she would be clearing space in her calendar so I could go talk to her hopefully by the end of this week.
I texted one of my friends from the old manor, she had actually texted me last week to tell me about this position but I had already applied, she told me to use her as a reference. She actually helps the new place out sometimes if their OT is sick or something and they need help. Anyway about half an hour later she text me again, told me the job is mine and to negotiate hard. She also told me to tell them I wanted a place I could retire from, which is truth so easy to say.
Anyway, I don’t know if she actually knows something or if she is just that confident in me but I hope she’s right. It’s a 1 minute drive shorter than the other one and no train track to cross. Fingers crossed!
Last night was also a happy night, there was a young woman that used to work for me that really needed to see what a loving mom could be. I guess she’s been part of my life for about 10 years now. I was at her wedding, she was at Kaitlyn’s, we’ve kept in contact. Her and her DH have been doing the IVF route about as long as Kaitlyn and Brodey. They announced last night that they are expecting twins in December. I’m going to see her on Friday. I can’t wait!
Now if someone would just give me the winning lotto ticket numbers I would have a lot less to worry about! 😂
I am hoping that I get a call tomorrow to do the interview this week and that I can start next week. It will upend the apple cart a bit for Michaela but she’ll understand. She is supposed to spend the last part of the week with me next week.
I’m sure she’ll really understand when I explain that me getting a job means I can buy her more impulse items again. 😂
Have a good night

TraceyWhen I find the right place to live in my next phase of life. I will sell both properties. For now I am working on downsizing the property I have lived in for thirty years. Son's house is decluttered and has just some minor painting needed to be ready to be put on the market. Roof did need to be done. It would start to leak if I had waited. It would have needed to be done before I could sell it. Our home might also need a roof soon and does need some new windows. These are my next projects. Son's house has new windows.2

Hi everyone;
I did go back to work wearing my boot. It was excruciating.. but I did a week. My foot is red from rubbing. I may need to get sheepskin for the side of my foot. I had to float to another floor, which was problematic due to the amount of walking. I had a patient in one wing and 2 in another. My babies are slow eaters. One nurse was mad at me because my baby was screaming to eat. I apologized that I was working with another one for 40 minutes in another wing. My foot was throbbing afterward.
@auntiebk, my recipe project is a compilation of family and copycat recipes. I even have a dog food recipe book for Rose, my dog. Now, I am starting Volume 2 of my recipe books. Some have Mediterranean recipes, some are KETO, and some are cookie or dessert recipes. I thought I would scrapbook during my time off but wasn't ready.
@Snowflake1968 I would never have thought about using the battery-powered lights to take a bath. I purchased lanterns to ensure we have emergency lights. Your lights are so pretty. I would love to stay in my pajamas and scrapbook. I should go for it. I am so behind in my scrapbooking.
@pipcd34 I love Yogi's picture. He looks like he knows how to have fun. Sorry, I love dogs and all animals. I may take Rose to the Renaissance and let her in the sprinklers and fountain. I will have to do it early or late so it won't be too hot. It's a good excuse to move my body.
Everyone, I hope you all are happy and enjoying summer.

Hello All,
Well I am celebrating my 10 years logging streak here on MFP - and I can’t believe it took me that long to find this group of wonderful people!❤️
Meanwhile add me to the list of people not spending much time watching the news these days - it repeats over and over again in an endless cycle. And regarding this election cycle, I vote my own mind anyhow and am not interested in being swayed by the news. Also DH watches enough news for both of us 😂
Speaking of DH, he has found many wonderful classic movies for us to enjoy on our ‘movie nights’ at home. I caregive for my 92 yr old mom and she just loves the classic old movies so it’s fun for us all. And I budget popcorn into my daily calories those days.
Tomorrow I will be at hospital all afternoon with new specialists. Praying it will be helpful and that they have some new insights. Sister is staying with Mom while I’m gone.
Wishing you all a good night and great day tomorrow,
xo Jean

Today’s gratitude: the abundant hot water in the gym’s shower.
Made it to the 3rd BB&B class, got down on the floor for the mat work. Struggled to sit up diagonally, just don’t have the abs to get up. Got less than an hour of line dance class but managed to walk the dogs down to the powerline meadow before completely running out of steam.
Heather not sure I could walk upstairs with a cup of tea in each hand. Bravissima! What you said about ultraprocessed foods. Also what you said about sugar, my downfall.
Machka Ah sunflower seeds, when the pepitas are gone I know what I’ll be munching! ((hugs)) for your mixed feelings. ((hugs)) Joe and I were friendly acquaintances for three years before we “got together”.
Annie your Dad’s intention to visit his childhood home made me sad. ((hugs))
Lisa LOL! Thought I was the only one who killed aloe vera plants? Lost all but one this spring. Hope no damage/impact from the dregs of Beryl? IMHO after what you’ve been through sleep is more important than yoga. Your body heals when you sleep.
Lanette really hope you get the temperature drop we got today. Salad and cold cuts sound way more appealing than restaurant food in the heat.
Beth belated happy birthday? Any word of hope or timeline for your Mom’s new facility?
What you and Margaret said about peace lilies applied to the ficus my cousin sent when Mama passed in 1996. Moved it from California to Idaho then to Oregon and avoided killing it until last month. Mixture of sad to see it go/relieved to have lighter more space/less guilt and grief.
Carol brava for doing your exercises in prep for the 22nd. Praying all goes well at the dentist and your recovery from surgery is quick and complete.
Rebecca your family resemblance to your grandmother is strong!
Margaret, thanks, especially for the confirmation of every six weeks for the Interceptor and not to give it at the same time as the NexGuard. Which essential oils do you put in DrewB’s bandana?
Rita that pasta bowl looks delish! Con VERY grats on the success of the new eating plan.
Allie this sMyles pic, prayer said for your brother. . . and for your health issues.
Tracey yours to Machka. Perfectly caring and truthful, just like you.
Monique what kind of work do you do with your babies?
Jean we love classic movies and popcorn too! Praying your appointments tomorrow will be positive and helpful.
Joe will talk to the water guy tomorrow. Fingers X’d he’ll commit to a job finish date, and keep the commitment.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Good morning. I’ve spent so much time reading that I haven’t much time for comments.
Machka: My heart goes out to you. You have had such a time of it, dear girl. I know how attached one gets to places. I applaud your insight into how the new place will work better for both of you, while understanding the the trepidation about what may lie ahead.
It’s a dull wet day here, so will crack on with getting rid of some of my ‘overwhelm’. It serves no purpose except to clog up space.
🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

John went off for his afternoon walk yesterday afternoon. I had expressed disappointment that our local butcher had not managed to source good Scotch Eggs since his old supplier cancelled. The only place that makes homemade, artisan, SEs in Hove is the very posh butcher in the centre. The chilli and coriander ones are amazing.
He came back with his hair cut (it really needed it) and two SEs from Canhams. He walked both ways.
He remarked that, behind the meat counter, there was a woman butcher cutting up a whole side of beef.
I rarely buy meat there, (expensive), but we do love the Scotch Eggs and John loves a custard tart with nutmeg.
We are going to have them for dinner tonight with a big mixed salad, because it is Bea pick up day.
I'm going to take my BP this morning and send it to my doctor via a text link that I requested. For some reason I find myself very resistant to doing this. I am on Amlodipine and, recently, Ramipril, so they keep an eye on it.
Love to everyone. Welcome to the new folks.

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Machka we all admire you for coping so well with your husband's challenges. Moving is such a big thing! You will feel better when you get a bit more settled.
Beth I hear you about a house full of stuff. My dad doesn't want to change anything from before my mom died, down to leaving her purse on the chair where she kept it.
Carol best wishes for your knee surgery!
Allie, thinking about your kidneys and your brother.
Tracey Yay for the job! I know you wanted to work with children but it's always good to be wanted.
Margaret you are doing a great job fixing up your son's house!
I went out to eat last night, and had a huge ice cream dessert. Then I stayed up late because my belly was too full. So now I'm tired and it's going to be a long day. Maybe next time I will resist. At least I only ate half of it. It was ice cream over brownies with Carmel and chocolate sauce.
Today is groceries. I think I will look for hoagies for a cool dinner.
I need to predict whether I'm riding on Thursday so I can arrange the sitter, but the weather is borderline. Hmm.
Well, have a great day ladies! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Good morning ladies!
Tracey - so very very happy to hear about the prospective job at the manor. What a great feeling knowing an employer wants YOU! Crossing fingers they'll offer you a nice salary and much better working conditions (including a boss that's not a cruel psycho ) than you had at the last job. The EA training was a nice break and I'll bet you get to apply some of the skills at the new place. Fingers crossed!
Lisa - those tree limbs on your well house look nasty. Glad it's not damaged.
Heather- did you have a trip planned this fall after you're healed up from the hip surgeries? Another cruise? Bet you can't wait to run on the beach again. The miracles of modern medicine. Glad John picked up the Scotch eggs you like so well.
At 9 last night, after the temps had cooled to the mid-80's I was out doing emergency maintenance on the chicken run. I noticed yesterday afternoon the "chicken coop" odor was overwhelming. Now, there's really no odor in the coop itself, which I keep really clean with lime on the floor and wood shavings for bedding. But it's their exercise yard that's the problem due to the heat mostly. And restricted air flow. So I hacked down part of the vegetation on the east side of the run and removed the plastic rain barrier panels on the west side of the run open up and let a breeze through. Sprinkled more barn lime and wood shavings on the floor of that run - they'll scratch through it and get it mixed in nicely. When I went out at 9:30 to close the coop door, I could already tell the difference, although it might have been from the "cool" temperatures.
Later this week when the blast furnace door stays shut, I'll get out there with a hoe and shovel and remove some of the dirt, replace with new soil from the abandoned garden. I normally do this several times a year to give them something fresh to dig around in.
Made my early morning trip to the grocery and it was a huge success. Managed to grab just about everything on my list for supper. And if no one is very hungry, it's food I normally would have purchased anyhow to last the week, so no big deal. Got back home and car in the garage before the sun came up.
At the grocery, I noticed a lot of bare shelves in the produce section - no loose or packaged carrots, lettuces, cucumbers. My friend Cindy, the produce manager, was working her tail off restocking those shelves. She said they were stripped bare by the time the store closed last night. - everyone wants to eat salads and not have to cook!
Keep cool, ladies - hope those of you in the path of the remains of the hurricane don't encounter any problems. My sis said rain would be welcome in northern Indiana, they might see a couple inches.

SW WA State where 98F is predicted today.5 -
Barbara - I just hate it when something so vital (like water!) depends entirely on another person, especially a person I'm not sure I can depend on. So much sympathy for that... Maybe it was the year for aloe vera to quietly expire without warning all over the place? I don't know. Corey told me I watered mine too much. Poor things. 🪴
Regarding sending plants, etc., to funerals - I have a thing about cut flowers, either giving or being given, because it feels like someone is handing over something beautiful with a very tenuous hold on existence, and in its last few moments of life. Now I know that live plants are not necessarily a good option either, I think I'll stick with donations made in the name of the deceased. I'm glad people often give that as an good option.
Moving - All the years of moving (30+ times as an adult, and a dozen before the age of 6) gave me no compunction about moving because I refused to get attached to a place. However, we bought this house six years ago next week, and it would be hard to leave, I think. So I don't think about it. There's a reasonable chance that my current house is where I will live until I go the way of my aloe vera plant (although I will probably be noisier about the whole thing). I'm OK with that. 🤣😇👀
Monique - @mcmillonmail Those rub wounds sound so painful! I'm trying to find something that will help my right ankle without hurting the skin around it, and apparently that doesn't exist. The compression socks are making my ankles hurt worse! They help the edema, but will have to be worn sparingly, I think. Doesn't seem right that something that helps in one way hurts in another. 😔 Finding the balance isn't always easy.
Jean - @JeanCricket - I hope you get the insights you're looking for from the specialists. We're glad you found us!
Carol - I hope the knee replacement does amazing things for your life. Every bit of exercise now will shorten that healing time after - Heather is a great example. It's hard when it hurts that much, I know. You can do this! I'm glad they could get you in more quickly than anticipated, dear heart. It made a huge difference in my life too.
Allie - Be careful driving, darlin'. Keeping your brother in my thoughts, sending healing his way.
Friends and husbands - I've said it before, my husband is not my best friend. My best friend is a tall blonde lady in Montana who has been my best friend for 40 years now. I like having my husband as my husband. Would we be friends anyway? Sure, probably, if we worked together or knew each other in some way, because I do actually like him, too. I genuinely don't go looking for friends, so he'd have to hunt me down. 🤣😁👀 Personally, though, I think it's an added emotional pressure for husbands that they don't need. He's already my support, my love, my partner in every way. That's plenty. My best friend and I take that emotional load for each other, and the intense thoughts that we don't want to share with our husbands.
Tracey - I do hope the job is what you want and what you need, and it sounds like they'll offer more than you had before--such a rush, being wanted and needed! And hopefully not soul-destroying like the last place. I hope it's a terrific fit. You're so much stronger than you were when you left the previous place. And yes, Michaela will get it, I'm thinking. Pleased for you!
I've been on and off with this for a couple hours, time to bolt. I'm halfway through getting the UV film on a back window, and realized I didn't post this!
Hope it's a grand Tuesday... the sun is back out here, and we got three and a half inches of rain, all told. Very little ran off, we needed it so much! So grateful for that--and the niece in Houston is digging out from Beryl, but doing fine. A tree fell on her ramp, and her live-in guy got out with a sawz-all and got it cleared so she can get through (she's been in a wheelchair for 20 years). She's a tough one, but this one shook her, understandably.
Later,
Love,

Pet related post...
Barbara
My recipe is 3-4 drops lemongrass oil for mosquitoes, 3-4 drops geranium oil for ticks (when Japanese beetles eat the leaves of the geranium plant they die), 3-4 drops peppermint oil. These are added to a small blue glass spray bottle 4-6 ounce(best to use an opaque bottle) shake before using. I like putting it on a bandana because then I can take it off when not needed I was lucky enough to find some that snaps on rather than tie. They were in a close out section of a local grocery store.
Essential oils are potent too and need to be used with care. I would start with one at a time and make sure your pet does not have a bad reaction to the oil especially geranium. Still I like this method better because they are not ingesting a pesticide that essentially make them systemic. In my previous post I pointed out the tick has to bit the pet in order to die. The mosquito has to bite the pet in order to transmit the heartworm. The Heartworm med kills any heartworm larve the pet got from a mosquito in the past six weeks. I would rather use temporary topical that deters them from biting in the first place.
Pets now have a 1-2 chance of developing cancer before age 10. DrewB with her autoimmune disorder puts her at higher risk. She is now 8. This is the reason I have changed her diet and flea, tick, heartworm, and vaccine protocol.

Jean: I hope the specialists at the hospital are helpful!
McMillion Mail: I am so irked the nurse was not clever enough to find a way to get you some help. After all you can only be in one place at once!
Beth: I can understand having mental havoc because your house is bursting at the seems. The Take Back Your House Decluttering course says your house is a container. It will only hold so much!
Carol: Best wishes on a successful knee replacement surgery.
Lisa: I know you miss your Mom. My Dad was difficult to impress and was limited in his interests. So whenever I see something that might get his attention, I have to remind myself he is gone.
Vickie: Around 2005 we drove from Middle GA to Daytona for the Nascar Pepsi 600. My son was into Jeff Gordan...was he number 24...anyway there was a long rain delay and the race ended after midnight. The traffic control police had gone off duty. We were parked with many others in a residential neighborhood. It took several hours to get out of the neighborhood. Then we had booked a Marriott about an hour north of Daytona. We never thought to call to tell them we would be arriving late. We got there in the middle of the night and they had given the room away. We checked around but everything was booked. We slept in the car in the Marriott parking lot. Early in the morning Marriott fixed a room for us when they had one available. We slept all day, except my son had slept all night through all of this and was wide awake watching tv throughout the day. We stayed a second night at this Marriott we were so tired. I must say we were not charged for either night. My husband never complained. He must been exhausted.
Tracey: I hope you can start work soon!
Margaret: Great about getting the houses in order. I have not even thought about my aging windows.
Rebecca: What great pictures of Athena and Eli. i love looking at them!
Machka9: Yes, I can see the hill in the picture of your present house. You are being quite adaptable by moving at this juncture. I do hope your husband can get some more mobility and freedom back. I had 10 apartments before my present home. I think a slow move gives one time to say good bye to one place and accept the next place as home. And to own your home...very exciting!
Carla K Ringuette: Welcome
Michele: I hope your throat is better.
Heather: Love the picture. You are so talented. Have you had art lessons?
Annie: I hope you are able to ride soon. Yes, we still have projects and items to do from my husband's estate and it is approaching 18 months. We better get on top of it!
Lanette: It is a very hot summer here. Frequent heat advisories and days we are told the heat index is over 100. I can still sit on the deck for an hour early in the morning.
Grandmallie: I find Miles to be an inspiration. His love of life shines through! And he has so much growth in his legs! Just amazing to witness!
Debbie: The kittens seem gracious and are very pretty.
Flea: Beautiful pictures!
PipCD: Have a nice camping trip!
Terri: I will have to google what a frozen cold water Prawn is.
I am well. I know someone posted a link called something like Half the Plate about veggies. I have the site booked marked. I ordered ingredients for 2 veggie recipes. I will make one today and share how it tastes! I am still exploring how to arrange life. I have an art class on Thursday where we all paint the same picture, I am doing yoga to prepare for my yoga retreat, I have a trial core Pilates mat class on Saturday. I can't afford classes with the machines. I found a local writing group that I have been advised I can join. My plan is to stay in 3 days a week and knit, write and clean the house. I am tired trying to go out every day. I am trying to figure out what the weather will be like near Asheville the first week in August. I know what to wear to yoga...but what about the afternoons and evenings. This retreat center is 14 miles from Asheville. I know I am blessed having the problem of needing to sort out activities. I feel so drawn to so much but between the cost of different services, and online zoom programs and local programs I could go broke spending 20 dollars here and 20 dollars there. Sorry to ramble on! Have a good day!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

Rest of day: breakfast: instant oatmeal low sugar, butter, almond butter, 1/2 banana
Peach on a biscuit with cool whip
DH gave me a pudding cup he had frozen for me.
101 calories left over from day.

Here's some info about it. Its on my bucket list one day! There's seems to be a really pretty historical library. So I would imagine my grandmother is in there somewhere.

I kind of look like both my maternal and my paternal grandmothers.😁. My family said that I got my love for singing from my paternal grandma that in the photo there. My maternal grandmother could whistle with a vibrato and everything.💖

I survived the dreaded wisdom tooth extraction this morning. I didn't eat or drink for 12 hours, got up early to walk he dogs for 90 minutes before coming home and taking pre-surgery meds. My friend picked me up and drove me to the oral surgeon where she came in and got directions from them. It was over in less than an hour and other than some pre op chatter among the staff preparing me, I remember nothing My friend walked me to her car and help onto me since I was so unsteady; I am still a little goofy and unsteady on my feet. No pain meds yet, but I am prepared with acetaminophen and ibuprofen and some stronger stuff from the pharmacy. I have been able to eat my Isagenix shake and a bowl of yogurt and jelly. Thank you to all of you for your encouragement. Jake has been very helpful.
Carol, I am thinking good thoughts for you and your upcoming knee replacement surgery. There were many people in my line dance class with knee replacements who danced with abandon and also hiked and rode bikes. I wish the same great results for you.
Heather, many good thoughts to you and you head toward your other hip replacement.

Yogi does love those fountains, they are his personal swimming pools:0)

Well ya just never know... I was on my way down to the Hospital for the Echocardiogram and ran over a darn bungee cord, hit the hook part and sliced right through my tire. Drove for about 1/2 a mile before I noticed it.. so pulled into a rd and called AAA and bless them they were there within 15 min and had the donut on in about 10 minutes
Drove myself to my local garage and they ordered the new tire and will get it on the rim and I'll stop tomorrow afternoon and they will put it back on for me..needless to say I had to reschedule the Echocardiogram..
Could have been so much worse.

Wet and uneventful day today. I got lots of indoor exercise thanks to YouTube, and sorted away the equipment from my groups until September.
Will be up early tomorrow to do weekly shopping.
Tracey: Sounds like providence has brought that job at just the right time. Michaela is a smart cookie. She will understand.
Allie: At least it wasn’t to bad. As you say, could have been much worse.
