Who cares about your BMI? You care about weight and body fat percentage. Lifting will burn calories but if you want to get leaner you need to either: a) eat less b) work harder, do more cardio, join a class (Interval training for example)

Hey bro, Go to the gym and ask them to measure your body fat. Along with your actual weight your body fat is the main indicator. It's a percentage and will allow you to see how much fat your packing. You might even want to record your weight and body fat every few weeks. If your weight is going up and your body fat is…

You don't need weight gainer man. I drink one myself as I got it cheap of my sisters fella. I do however have boxes of cereal and jars of peanut butter in cupboard. Easy calories.

If your feel the extra fat go to some HIIT classes or some klettlebell classes... BEASTMODE.

The OP said net, not gross. He may be eating 3000 calories for all you know so his exercise is irreverent. If your going for a big deficit though eat healthy so you get 'all dem nutrients'

A lot of people say it doesn't matter where the calories come from. This assumes your only goal is to bulk up and you have no consideration of your health. Even if you are only concerned about bulking then there is some thought that needs to go into where you get those calories from. You'l have better results if you don't…

Thanks for all the replies guys. I was doing some research. I learned that the sugar from fruits is not really a bad thing. Apparently they are locked within the fiber which the body needs to break down before the sugar is released and as such the sugar is released slowly into the system. This does not cause your body to…

Well if you want to gain muscle you will need to eat RIGHT! Going to the gym is only half the story. You won't make any strength or size gains without the right diet. You'll want to find out how many calories your body needs to function everyday (before extra-exercise). There are many websites that can help you learn what…

If your going to stimulate muscle growth then an increase in the % of calories from protein will help lean muscle growth right? You have a nice ripped body though so not saying your wrong :D

If your look to gain mass then you need to eat MORE calories than what you body needs to function. Aim for an extra 100-200 calories. To gain muscle you will want to ensure these calaries are balanced. aim for say 35% Carbs (minimal sugars) 35% protein and 30% from good fats. You will want whole proteins so eat lean meats:…

There are different types of fats and they each provide benefits in their own ways. There is no simple answer to your question and a lot of people will come along with 'bro science'. Basically you want to disregard everything you think you know about fat from the media and just know fat is good for you. Fat is however very…

kipferfox5: You are doing 2 hours of cardio everyday? Also your a bloke you should be having a net intake of like 2-3k! toolhead87: Net Calories is the number of calories you have gained each day from food minus what you have burned in exercise. So for someone like me who is trying to gain weight, I need to ensure I…

You can add those things separately rather than one exercise. Estimate how long you spend on each and how intense it is. In an hour you'd be hoping to burn at least 200-600 cals depending on breaks/intensity.
