Option 1: save calories for some nighttime eating. Option 2: look at it as a chance to improve your self-discipline. Acknowledge your craving, then say no to it.

I would give up my firstborn for some decent panang curry, so I'm afraid I can't help you.

What is grain-free oatmeal??!!

Some people live with others, who DO buy snacks. This is where willpower has to come in.

You should be proud!! Keep working at it, just like that!

The more you work on your self control, the easier it will get.

I'm almost at 20 pounds and just can't see it yet, granted I have a long way to go still. I did have a pair of jeans fall right off me so there is that.

Welcome. I found this site a lot more effective since reaching out and making friends. Feel free to add me- I have over 150lbs to lose so my goals might be different from yours...

Hi! Feel free to add me. I have over 150lbs to lose, but I am slowly chipping away at it!

You could think about how much time you'd have to spend dancing to burn off whatever you were gonna snack on. 45min of dancing for 3 cookies?!! No thanks.

Picturing this made me laugh really loudly.

I like meat far too much. Also you don't HAVE to buy a plan to lose weight, there is lots of free info out there online. Eat a balanced diet of things you like in appropriate portion sizes.

If you have the time, you can walk, living on campus or not. You don't have to walk to a certain place. Do laps of the campus, or walk the stairs in your building.

This was a big problem for me! Also, I live with others and can't control 100% of what gets brought into the house. So "don't buy cookies" isn't good advice for me. I just had to work on not eating mindlessly. Self-control is like a muscle, you have to exercise it. So if I'm thinking about snacking out of boredom, I do…

Breakfast cereal- it was mostly a portion size shock. Those big bowls I'd been pouring myself since I was a kid? Easily 3 to 4 servings. Potatoes also shocked me, because I had it drilled into my head for so long that they make you fat. No, smothering them in sour cream, cheese and butter and eating until I was stuffed…

This is the truth. Every thread about raw, paleo, whatever diets could be boiled down to this. We all could just eat what we like and what helps us reach our goals, but it's human nature to want to be part of a group with a name.

I use the elliptical trainer. I imagine it will be at least another 75 pounds before I can run without killing my joints.

Colby Cheez-Its are God's own truth.

I had 2 fun size butterfinger bars about a week ago. Sometime this week I'm going to have one of those Reese's big cups. I know it's basically against the law to say so, but I find dark chocolate disgusting. It's too bitter. (I am also not a coffee drinker, for the same reason.)

Twinings Irish Breakfast - every morning with a splash of milk Republic of Tea blackberry sage - I drink it straight at the start of every night shift.

Before the whole weight loss only (it's just calories!) vs. weight loss AND nutrition (WHAT you're eating matters!) debate: you need a better relationship with food. If 160 calories of white bread is making you feel guilty, you need to rethink how you view food. It's fuel, not unclean items that will get you banished from…

For non chain restaurants, I just use similar dishes from chain restaurants. So the local seafood places become Red Lobster, and so on. I am set for 2lbs a week so I have a relatively large amount of deficit room in case I'm under. You either have to accept having to guess, or cut down on what you eat at the restaurants by…

5 pounds a month is great loss! I agree that it sounds like you need some outlet outside of your home. Do you have a group of friends you can talk to, a homeschooling or church group for example?

I gave up a bunch of fast food items. Not because they are bad or evil, but because it turns out I don't like them enough to fit them into my calories. My Sonic shakes and tots have stuck around though.

Awesome achievement! I'm 20 pounds away myself.

How does drinking water stop you from retaining water? When you are dehydrated, your brain makes a hormone that causes your kidneys to hang on to water, sending out only a minimum amount in urine (making it dark). If you are getting plenty of water, that hormone isn't produced, so your urine has lots of water in it (making…

From a design standpoint, I agree with the suggestion to change background colors of alternating posts, so it's not white on white on white.
