So after reading all these I am rather embarrassed to say I am 5'4" and weigh 182. I just started back 5 days ago after stopping for about 1 1/2 years and gained almost everything I'd lost right back again. As soon as I stop logging things go to hell in a hand basket. I think I will have to log for the rest of my life.

I love and have to have chocolate just about everyday. I stick to dark chocolate (usually Hershey's kisses) they are easier to count and I just log it everyday. Just like a glass of wine fits in my calories. I make it fit.

Get a Fitbit or something similar
-
Of course I will cheat today. But just with 2 fun size Snickers.

500 cals? I'd starve to death!

I weight twice a week and fluctuate 2 or 3 lbs because of too much salt or water retention.

Follow your plan and stay within your calories and get extra exercise. The only way to burn extra calories is exercise.

Wow!

Thank you all for the suggestions

Exactly, it was like driving a car without a dashboard. I had no idea what or how much I was eating. When I started MFP over a year ago, I changed a lot of things immediately. Besides serving sizes and choices, I found I was waaaaay over on my salt in intake. My cholesterol was getting high and I cut out a lot of eggs and…

Wine has 120 cal per 5 oz

Salad dressings, any kind

I agree with the above, get some counseling. The emotional baggage that you carry around from your negative mother will always hinder you on some level. I had a very negative mother too. Once I got rid of a bunch of emotional garbage I was able to focus on myself. I got a Fitbit too. That helps motivate me to get out the…

Buy a food scale, log everything you eat and drink including vitamins.

I get my best information and a lot of questions answered on the community site. When I have nothing to do, I read everybody's post.

For the past month, thanks to a Fitbit, I have been walking almost everyday for 30-40 min. My scale doesn't show a difference (yet) but I feel thinner, leaner and a lot stronger. I do yoga 3 x's a week too. I am going to start paying attention to the heart rate part soon. That's why I read your post. I;m still getting used…

I was doing that, making the numbers look good. I wised up and realized there is nobody on the other side of the button who cares.

Hey there! I am so sorry to hear about losing your leg. Keep checking the website here, participate and you will have lots of encouragement. I have been keeping track of my food since Sept last year. I lost 14 lbs with 2 1/2 months but have been stuck there ever since. So I got a Fitbit activity tracker and it is GREAT…

I think you've come to the right place. Log your food and exercise daily and check the community board questions. I have learned a LOT from others comments. Just log what you normally eat and start to make adjustments from there. First thing I did was cut down on my salt and egg consumption. Whatever you do, don't give up,…

Hey Bella, You will get a lot of support from this website. I've been here since September last year and log my food consistently. Just take one day at a time and lose the weight slowly, that's the only way to keep it off for good. You will once again be proud of yourself and will have to change your name from…

I practice TM every day. I'm sure I will for the rest of my life.

I buy a Costco ham bake, slice and freeze, same with real Turkey. It take more thought and prep (my husband does it for me) but worth the taste without all the bad stuff. I eat sandwiches almost everyday for lunch so this is important to me. My sodium intake was REALLY high with processed meats too. I find that roast beef…

Nothing or mustard

It does seem harder the 2nd or 3rd time around, at least for me too. Never give up.

Kick him to the curb!

Yes, but it's no accident.

Heated homemade applesauce. Tastes like apple pie

I have those Jimmy Dean Delights. 250 cal made with turkey sausage and egg white. I love a 1/2 can tuna with dill pickles, celery, sweet onion & lite mayo on 1 slice bread.

I am desk bound too but I walk and do yoga. I consider a workout as "part of my job" and if somebody doesn't like it, Oh Well! They won't be around to help me if I'm sick and I do a much better job when I am working. Make it part of your "job" to be healthy.
