  • I am a 10 year WW veteran. I went to meetings regularly. You learn so much about yourself and how to eat healthy at the meetings. I am applying their principals to this plan. The basic principal is the same: eat less and move more. But it is a fantastic learning experience. I am in a clinical trial and have to track so…
  • I had to buy pants two sizes larger than I ever wore, had to go to a cardiologist and found out I have a heart problem, an a whole host of health issues that continued to pile up. I've lost a lot of weight before, but this time I have to keep it off to stay alive! Very scary. My parents both died in their 60's. I'm almost…
  • You are a beautiful looking lady no matter what you weigh....but I'm so glad you chose to lose weight to improve your health. I love your confidence and sass! Great job!
  • I have 9 dogs of my own and I am currently foster 20 others! So it would take pages to get mine posted. I will try to get some photo's uploaded to include!
  • Bump to follow thread. I worked out with a trainer for almost a year until I trashed my knee and gained a ton of weight. I've lost a lot of weight but am having a hard time getting fitness worked in. I am looking for suggestions. Thanks for offering this!
  • I agree with this. I always got to know my friends parents, even through high school! Kids are much more likely to not try to pull a fast one on you when they know you will pick up the phone and call (even strangers to you!). I did this mainly for safety, but found it was also a great way to form a casual relationship with…
  • Recognizing this is a problem is half the battle. Congratulations on that! When you realize what is happening, do your best to get back on track. Log on the days you aren't eating correctly as well as the correct days. Look for a pattern to why this happens. I use the notes box on the food page to remember why I did…
  • Things I do daily (including work) is what my body is used to. I only track exercise that is out of my daily normal. I never eat my exercise calories though. I just use them as a way of keeping track of my efforts.
  • I can see a difference in your pictures. I started at a size 24 and am finally down to a 16. Each step feels so great. I always keep a pair of the next size down pants out and try them on once a week. That helps inspire me! You'll get there before you know it. Congratulations!
  • I looked in to the band because I felt I need an extra tool to help me achieve permanent weight loss. Unfortunately my insurance wasn't going to pay because I had lost over 60 lbs. 5 years ago. It didn't matter that I gained it all back along with 40 more. So I continued to struggle with eating less and exercising and…
  • Eat less, move more. Tracking is key to achieving life style results. Permanent weight loss is hard work and I expect that I will spend the rest of my life tracking calories and getting on the scale. I've tried the others and they don't work long term. People are not committed to permanent weight loss. Yes they really are…
  • In my family love was shown by cooking for people. That was especially true for my Dad. An adult life of depression and not working at getting better. I LOVE FOOD! Not caring enough about me to try to make an effort to control what I eat etc. etc. etc.
  • KB F - I start out each morning with Kashi Go Lean Cereal and Skim milk. Big protein plus first thing in the morning.
  • I see a bariatric Doctor. Yesterday I asked about a goal weight. They said at my age and height I should weigh 137 to 140. So I have 46 lbs. to go! Over half weigh there. I started at 237 and currently weigh 183. I'm 5'1"
  • Pretty cool. I just figured out what my weight should be (46 lbs. to go!) I've never been smaller than a 14 all my adult life so I am curious as to what size I might end up at. I tried 3 different shaped bodies because I'm not real sure which I am! Thanks!
  • Since the object of selling cookies is to make money for the Troop I would feel bad not buying them. BUT....I now give a $5 donation to the girls. From being a troop leader I know that they only get a portion of the money received. But when I donate directly they get to keep it all. Win/win for both of us. I don't take…
  • I did over 10 years of WW all the way thru Points Plus. But I would get cocky about doing it successfully and go out on my own and gain weight. I loved the accountability. I'm doing this because I'm part of a research trial and I have to log. My only limit is to stay under 1400 calories a day. I will say that I learned a…
  • Ooooh! Copied this one. It sound delicious!
  • I swear by Weight Watchers String Cheese sticks. I have 2 almost every day! I love carrots and celery sticks. You can add Hummus or low fat ranch for dipping. I get Sensible Portion garden veggie sticks at Sams Club and make individual portions in baggies. I like low fat/no fat/no sugar jello and pudding cups. I do best if…
  • I have been on meds for it for almost 12 years after a suicide attempt. I am on Effexor and on a high dose. I have gained and lost through the years. This time I'm getting a lot of counseling on my weight loss journey. It sure helps. Also, exercise is a natural mood booster. I have SADD and so I'm worse this time of year.…
  • Open the picture on your computer with Paint. Then go to resize and type in 25 %. Then resave it under a different name. This should do the trick
  • SW - 227.5 (actually started 10 lbs. higher before I started MFP) CW - 186.2 GW - 120-125
  • I do this with a large can of crushed pineapple in juice. Dump both in pan, mix and bake. I take this to potlucks a lot. Always eaten up fast and no one knows it's low calorie!
  • Hi everyone! I am no longer new, but this is the final time I try to lose the weight! I love food and have been overweight or on a diet my entire adult life. Feel free to add me as a friend. Support and tracking are two of the biggest keys to success. You accomplish both here at MFP!
  • I have been yo-yo dieting my entire adult life. It creeps back on when I feel I've made it successfully. Then I quit writing stuff down and weighing and give in to tempting food. Why not eat it? I've been "good" for so long. Then you need a bigger size. But it's only a size. I'll lose it again when I'm ready. The problem…
  • Agree....banish unnecessary and junky food from your house. Take snacks with you everywhere so you don't feel like you have to stop somewhere unhealthy. I have taken string cheese, mini carrots, baggies of cereal, baby food snacks (dried fruit- taste pretty good), etc. Plan your meals, shop once and take leftovers for…
  • Kashi cereal has a lot of protein for a cereal - up to 9 grams per cup!
  • I always appreciate public diaries. I find it interesting to see how others handle their food intake!
  • This is a great place to vent and get support. You are not alone in this journey. Everyone has good and bad days. You have to appreciate what you accomplished so far and keep moving forward to your goals. Good luck!
