  • I know how easy it is for the weight to go back on. It seems like it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make it come off and then in no time it can go back on. It sounds like stress and emotions have a lot to do with your weight. When things were tough in your life, you gained back. That's going to be the biggest…
  • I have been missing out on reporting the last several weeks since I have been up and down, and not being able to weigh in on my normal days. So now things are back to normal and I'm going to start checking in again. So this week I'm down 1.8 pounds. Woohoo!
  • Gained again! Ugh! I know it's from all the sodium and crap food I've been eating lately. Overall, though, I'm down 11 pounds since the beginning of the year, so still in the 1 pound per week realm. And I know this is a lifestyle and overall I'm getting healthier and stronger, but this is the absolutely last week in a row…
  • Up again a little bit - .6 pounds. I'm still down overall, but next week the scale is going back down! Heaviest Weight - 264 SW on MFP - 245.8 LW - 219.4 CW - 220
  • Up .8 pounds. Grr! That's the second week in a row of slight gains. Overall still okay, but I need to get back into it! Heaviest Weight - 264 SW on MFP - 245.8 LW - 218.6 CW - 219.4
  • I come from a family that has always celebrated with food. All our holidays were based around food, we'd get together for someone's birthday and it was always celebrated with a big fancy dinner at a restaurant or a potluck at someone's house. We'd go camping and one of the first things we'd do was plan out all the yummy…
  • I can put my weight in, but I walk for 3.5 minutes and run for 1.5 minutes, so the total calorie burn at the end is an average. I've been inputting it into MFP based on the exercises in the database. I just wonder if 4.3 mph fast walking is the same burn as 4.3 mph running.
  • I love looking at the chart. It helps to see the overall picture and to see that about 3/4 of us are still losing! Great job everyone!
  • Gained .6 pounds this week. I was somewhat expecting it with the great loss I had last week. At least it wasn't much! Now I need to get it going back down next week! Heaviest Weight - 264 SW on MFP - 245.8 LW - 218 CW - 218.6
  • We bought one of those ready-made pizza doughs (like Bobolis) and it said something like "Serving size: 1/6 of pizza. Servings per container: 8." What?! How does that even work out? The family and I spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out how to even make it work mathematically before we gave up.
  • Very good article! I'm sending it to my sister who's struggling.
  • Please read these three comments over again and take them to heart. You need to talk with a professional and learn why you are eating this way and acting this way. When you can get to the root of your problems, you can get to be a healthy weight.
  • For years I've realized that lowering my carbs seemed to help with my PCOS problems, but not everyone felt cutting carbs was good for you. So I was especially happy to see this spelled out so clearly: "People with insulin resistance, including most women with PCOS, have a reduced capacity to tolerate carbohydrates."
  • I was given this super-cute belt a few years ago. If I sucked in like crazy I could buckle it on the first hole. Well, I pulled it out a couple weeks ago since my jeans are getting loose. I was able to buckle it on the second hole and then this week I noticed I had to move it to the third hole. Woohoo!
  • what about riding a recumbent bicycle (the ones with seats). That way your back is being supported and you're getting the cardio workout in? or perhaps just good old-fashioned walking for a few miles
  • I was totally shocked when I stepped on the scale this morning! I thought I would lose something because my pants seemed a little loser, but every weigh-in day I just hope I did enough for that 1-pound loss. Well, I had to step on the scale five times this morning just to make sure I saw this right! I lost 5.2 pounds this…
  • I agree that naturally thin people do not obsess over food and eat to keep their bodies going. Sure, they don't count calories all day because their bodies know when to stop. Overweight people need to count calories (at least initially) because they don't know what a normal day looks like. They could easily eat 4000…
  • That is something to be proud of!! In the past, I have always gained while on business trips. This time I really tried to stay focused, packed healthy snacks, worked in some exercise in my room and didn't give in to a weight gain just because I was traveling. And it worked. I lost a pound that week and was SO MUCH MORE…
  • I've had a couple recently. I had to buy new jeans. I went to the Plus section and realized that all the sizes were too big. I ended up getting a 14. I tried on a few rings I used to wear and they all fit loosely, not pinching tight! I took a bath last night after being super exhausted and I realized I fit in the tub…
  • I just posted something similar on the Food and Nutrition thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/886397-no-more-diet-coke I stopped drinking Diet Coke about four months ago and I have definitely noticed a big decrease in my urge for candy and sweets. I really think it was due to the Diet Coke. I think since it was…
  • Good to hear so many other people that lost the sugar cravings when they ditched the diet soda. I thought eliminating the diet drinks helped contribute to my not wanting sugar as much but I wasn't sure. I wasn't that concerned about putting the bad things in my body, but I started to think that the diet coke wasn't really…
  • Down another 1.6 pounds for me this week! Woohoo! That's three weeks in a row of the scale going in the right direction! Go me!! Heaviest Weight - 264 SW on MFP - 245.8 LW - 224.8 CW - 223.2 GW - 135
  • I just posted a new topic on Diet Coke before I saw this one. But this ^^ is what I've noticed. I was a big Diet Coke drinker, and then I just decided to stop because I figured it wasn't providing anything good for my body. Instead I drink lots of water. I do still have artificially sweetened coffee creamer in the morning…
  • A lot of what's listed in the database was entered by others. They might have a different version of the rice, or might not have read the label quite right. I usually look at various entries and make a decision based on which seems to match the most. Or else I go with whichever one has the most confirmations by others.
  • That's ok neudeb12. Keep trying! That's half the battle.
  • Down 1 pound for me! I'm very happy with that considering I was on a business trip all week. Heaviest Weight - 264 SW on MFP - 245.8 LW - 225.8 CW - 224.8 GW - 135
  • Like someone said on the other thread, losing one pound a week is doable, but to consistently do it every week is more of a challenge. I'm finding myself sticking to it more and really focusing because this group is motivating me to try for that pound EVERY week! So thanks everyone and GREAT JOB!!
  • I have been diagnosed with PCOS too. My periods were never regular and when they came they were light. Sometimes I would go a year or more without one! I had to go on fertility medicine to get pregnant with both my kids. I always carried (still do) weight in my middle. At my highest weight (264) I looked like I was 8…
  • It's encouraging to see everyone say "I lost 1 lb" or "I'm up this week but overall down" or even "I'm up this week but I'm going to work hard at it next week." It's keeping me motivated every week!
