  • dont be scared to check it out...i think you would be surprised to find out how many people in class fell just like you do. we all need to be lighter on ourselves. i actually do a zumba gold, which is for older people and beginners, and they can outmove me! but i love to see the ladies having fun. the gym that you go to…
  • you are obviously a strong and dtermined person who can do this! just consider your weakness and cater to them some, but dont give in. for example, if its a sweet tooth or an oral type fixation because of your nerves, try hard candy like werthers or jolly ranchers. if its food then try 100 calorie packs to munch on, but…
  • the biggest perk i get out of my gym membership is the classes. i like a group setting and love the music and "routine" feel to them. it is organized and effective. i like to mix it up based on my purpose. there are cardio classes like zumba and body attack to burn calories, tone, and build endurance. there are also…
  • good luck to you! this is similar to a facebook community to me, but i feel like i can share a more intimate struggle with people who have similar goals or a familiar story and there are great tips and supportive people here to keep me going. good luck to you! let me know if i can help!

  • i agree, you will be use to looking this way and will warm up to the new you...just try your best to appreciate it. my biggest regret is never enjoying it and always being so critical that when i had my last child and lost the body i had worked for, i realize i never knew what i had. enjoy your new you! you have worked so…
  • i have enjoyed what the site has to offer and the support group. i have had the app for 5 weeks and been active on the site for 3 weeks. i have not had much luck with weight loss, but it is not a direct reflection of the site. it is great for support, venting, ideas, and accountability!

  • so with you guys on this! TOM for me is like having a different body. its a few lbs and bloating so clothes are different and i am like jekel and hyde for up to 2 weeks. keep your head up and dont let the scale get you down! easier said than done, i know...but you will feel better about it after TOM is gone!
  • my heart goes out to you immensely! you can certainly use some love and focus on you for a change. friend me if you would like! i am a mom of 3 boys, all high risk, but none lost. you are already stronger than you can imagine, now its just refocusing that. good luck and keep your head up as best you can. you can get alot…
  • this is a great question...cause a monitor said i had burned nearly 1200 calories in a weight lifting/cardio mix 2 hour class and mfp had me at about 700. thts huge!
  • an instructor at my gym says "any exercise is good exercise". so just move about to some music...stretch, crunches, a little punching the air fast then slow, cha cha...these are all things we do in our cardio mix up classes. you can do it:)
  • virtual hug at you...
  • i have 3 boys and am about to potty train number3. i didnt have any problem with the other two, but i know he will be a mess! they seemed to like the sound the pee made when it hit the water, so maybe be sure he can stand up. and the target practice is a great idea i have heard worked really well. and special big boy pants…
  • shoes are gonna be so different for each person. there is such inticate technology involved for dif stuff, go to a decent athletic store that can show you and expain to them what you need. hibbett sports, lady foot locker or athletes foot are great, if you have them. new balance come in a variety of price ranges and…
  • if your gym offers a bodypump class, it is a total body fitness class with weights and is amazing! but i like the press for legs, if doing a machine.
  • i am an RT and i have found alot of hope and motivation on here from real people!
  • i cant say i totally understand everything you have spoken of, but i can pick out a few common threads. i am sorry for all your troubles and will keep you in my thoughts! i am a compulsive worrier and i take on others's burdens, as well. my biggest character flaw, for sure. its easy to get bogged down and feel like you are…
  • i say allow yourself a small indulgence. if you dont allow a little pleasure, you are bound to try to compensate until you go back to whatever it was you yearned for. for me, i will revisit my fridge or my cabinets when i shoud have just had that thing. caffiene or no caffiene, it matters not to me. lol
  • this is my first public forum, as well, but i am liking what i have seen on here. just keep reaching out and your accountability will take care of the rest.
  • i joined the community today and love what i see! the guidelines are very specific to a people helping people approach and it is refreshing! i am a 32 yr old mom of 3 and am much better and giving support to others than extending myself the same courtesy. i am hoping to change that through my goals and this site. so here's…
