  • I think it depends what speed you run at- I only run at 9-10 k an hour and I am 5 ft 7 so certain songs fit that RPM. Foster the People- Helena Beat Delta Fiasco- Night Terrors Delta Fiasco- Eat Me Alive Pendulum- Granite Example- Changed the Way You Kissed Me Cheryl Cole- Call My Name and my guilty pleasure....Drake Bell-…
  • Inaction by We Are Scientists and anything by Pendulum

  • I only have arthritis in one foot though my knees are a bit dodgy. I found treadmill at a high incline and a low speed (Incline of 13/ Speed 4.5-5 really got my heart rate up but wasn't too painful. I do 20 mins of that.

  • Thanks everyone! I will look into all those....I have a Tom Tom here and it was good until I loaded extra European maps into it. Now it thinks I am in Austria all the time. If I set out to go to Liverpool for example, a 45 mile trip, it tells me it will take me 22 hours!
  • Wine and chocolate is my downfall too! Though the sunshine normally puts me off chocolate! Its going to be SOOOO hot in Brighton this weekend. I wanted to run the path from Rottingdean along to the Marina but it will be like Vegas at midday!
  • I absolutely love The Robber Bride. I read it while working in Toronto and the hotel I was staying in was the next street to Margaret Atwood's house. I kept hoping I would bump into her! Just read THE best book I have ever read, seriously/ A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz. 700 pages but worth every word. Amazing…
  • No! I could still stay in bed all morning- in 3 weeks time I will be in Chicago with very bad jet lag and getting up at 4am so will suffer with you then! If you do ever feel like you want to go back to sleep then I use Audiobooks. Plug my headphones in and have someone reading to me and I am conked out in no time!
  • Monday- 4 beers (necessary as I was at a conference and it's illegal not to drink at academic conferences-its the only chance you get to persuade people not to heckle) Tuesday- none, way too hungover Today, one wine to celebrate Spain beating Germany! So not too bad...
  • 90% of my calorie intake on Saturday was champagne...I don't know whether to feel like a celebrity or ashamed! No alcohol since then but am now off to an academic conference where I have to give a lecture and always get nervous so will drink a bucket of guinness tonight. Oh well.am in my skinny(ish) jeans! ..:drinker:
  • Well I was going to be happy if I reached 153 and I'm 5.7". Tho now I feel I need to aim lower as if all us 5.6" and 5.7" guys reach our happy weight and stand in a row I will still be the fat one! D'oh!
  • I'd like to lose 3 stone by next week...oh hang on...is this not the 'I Live in a Fantasy World' thread??? Actually, if I lost 5lbs by July 29th I would be ecstatic! I too will go for three nights (or less) a week. Until I get to Fort Wayne Indiana where every night is party night I hear!!
  • I know what you mean...there is something so beautifully balanced about a warm evening (6pm is golden hour for a cold beer or a glass of wine). I think the words Beer Garden are probably amongst my favourite in life...along with Half Price Cocktails...and Champagne Reception...and Free Bar... I am going to a ball…
  • Please! My father-in-law has MOVED IN!!! His house purchase has stalled. He is a lovely man but he does not stop talking about TOTAL CRAP. My husband has conveniently disappeared on a tennis tour....hmmmm Yesterday over dinner my father in law read me out the dimensions of every storage facility he could rent and then read…
  • That must be wrong..there arent a load of fat in mushrooms! Maybe that was for a stuffed mushroom recipe?
  • Hey, I am Dec 19th and I have Scorpio as my rising sign. I know what you mean about extremes! Does a liquid diet allow you to blend stuff like fruits or soup? Wouldnt mind trying it...chewing is so tiring!
  • I am a sports sociology researcher, so I get paid to watch the World Cup! Yay! :drinker: I am supporting England though am not patriotic normally and the USA as I live in Colorado in the summer.
  • After reading through these posts I have come to the conclusion that there are SO many valid reasons to drink that no-one can castigate us.. Grandpa moving in= drink needed to compensate Giant pergola on the porch= drink needed to commemorate End of exams= drink needed to celebrate Good band = drink needed to inebriate!…
  • I was just going to post 'No alcohol drunk today' when I realised it was only 3pm so really it's not such a great achievement. Am going to see We Are Scientists tonight which always makes me want a beer as they are so good and LOUD!:drinker:
  • Banned for having a name like a bar snack which makes me want to drink beer WHICH DOES NOT HELP!
  • Hi, I totally agree with your attitude. Why undo all your good work? If it has a gym then use it! From my experience hotel gyms, especially in vacation spots, are usually gloriously empty! I read on this site (can't recall where) that it takes only seven days to lose the fitness level you had previously acquired. We will…
  • Leaving all the drinking to one part of the week has it's critics...we in the UK may suck at football (yeah yeah 'soccer') but we win at binge drinking! I have found that if I tell myself NO WINE NO BEER all week then by the time it is the weekend I want to dive head first into a vat of MGD. I am trying to do it in units,…
  • Banned for having shiny white teeth!
  • LOL! This made me laugh so much! I had wanted to post before asking if anyone else exercised to earn calories for bad food or drink!
