Spaghetti squash. Cut in half, scoop out the seeds, cook, and then shred with a fork to get "noodles". This is my lunch this week. I added some broccoli to it: https://www.thegunnysack.com/chicken-alfredo-spaghetti-squash/

Double first cousins are when two siblings of one family have babies with two siblings of another family. Their offspring are related to each other through both of their parents.

Congrats on 4 years! Your progress is incredible!

It took me about 5-6 weeks before I was ok doing more than walking. Anything more than that left me completely wiped out. After about 5-6 weeks, I started lifting again and added in my exercise bike.

I was in the same boat. I struggled with the idea of having the surgery. I felt like it was giving up or cheating, but deep down, I knew I needed to do it. I gave myself a timeframe to lose some weight and if I failed that, I decided to move forward. I didn't meet the goals I had set for myself (like not even close), so I…

Yaaay! Glad you're doing well and healing nicely!

:D I relate. LOL!

Agree with @garber6th to add in some more vegetables with some fats when you're able to. As long as I'm careful to get mine in, I don't have issues. I do add in some Metamucil occasionally as that tends to help if I notice things are getting... slow. I've had to resort to enemas twice to get things cleared out. That was no…

No doubt. I used to weight lift and it was my way of stepping back and destressing, especially at work (we have a gym). No mania, it was just how I settled the monkey-chatter in my brain. My injury is mostly just genetics catching up with me, not something I did, and that's why I'm struggling to deal with it.

-I'm here but not crazy active on the board. -Weight loss is ok. I had VSG in March 2016. I've lost 80lbs and I'm up 8lbs from my lowest. I'm sort of maintaining at the moment so I need to get back to it. I have not yet reached my goal. I want to lose another 50lbs. -I have always struggled with food. That hasn't changed.…

Thanks for the update!

Mine didn't set a goal for me either. The surgeon asked me how many pounds it would take for me to lose to consider my surgery a success, but that's it. My personal goal is 160, but since I've never been a normal weight as an adult, I'm not sure what that will look like. I'll see when I get there.

Good luck today @NicoleL874!! I hope everything goes well and that you have a speedy recovery!

I do what @Jamieeldred does: choose my food beforehand. If it's a last minute choice on where to go, I'll get a side salad and a cup of soup (usually chili). If I know where I'm going, I'll pick out a protein heavy option (like a steak or grilled chicken) and then get vegetable sides. I eat around half and take the rest…

I was in the same mind-set as you. I'd done it on my own before and I felt like surgery was a cop-out and the easy way (for me). My husband had it done and at that time, I started the process with the idea that I didn't have to have the surgery. I gave myself 6 months to try my hardest, and learn what I needed to learn.…

This. I didn't go through it, but my husband did and still does occasionally, even at almost 2 years out. He sometimes made himself throw up, other times it would just happen. It also seems to go in phases, so I would recommend tracking it, like note when it's happening, what you ate, how you ate (too fast, too much, etc).…

Mix the greens and cheese together and stuff the chicken with it?

You really answered your own question: log all of your food, and work on getting your water in. Make sure you're limiting your carbs and getting your protein. Just the basics. :)

No pics here either, but I made these for breakfasts this week: http://www.willcookforfriends.com/2014/04/crustless-mini-quiche-single-serving-breakfast-muffins.html I wrapped and froze them individually, so I just grab one every morning and heat & eat at work.

@scochrane86 In my experience, that much fat makes everything...slide right through. As in, I'm hanging out in the bathroom all day, not wearing white pants kind of thing. YMMV, but I've had to make sure I don't go overboard on my fat intake. ETA: This is post-surgery. Pre-surgery, I didn't have these issues.

I'd imagine running that distance puts a strain on your systems. You body is holding on to water while it heals and recuperates. You did not gain 10lbs in 3 days. Get back to your normal eating routine, rest, and give it some time.
-
I'll try to remember to do this when I get home!

That sounds like a truly crappy week. I'm so sorry about your dog. Losing a pet is really difficult. I hope next week runs a little smoother for you.
-
@Lisidy That is so cute!

I have my protein intake set pretty high compared to a lot of bariatric patients. Currently set at 105 grams, or 35%. I don't hit that most days, I get around 90-95 grams. As long as you don't mind your food being basic and a little boring, it's not crazy hard. Today, for example, I'm having chicken for both lunch and…

http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/4601-stronglifts-5x5-for-women Just keep working at it. Try it again at 100lbs for your next session. If I remember correctly, the third time you fail, you deload and work your way back up. Some other things you can do to help are adding in some accessories like push-ups, lateral…

@NicoleL874 Your meet-up sounds like so much fun! I'm glad you had such a good time. And seriously, wth is up with F&F? He doesn't want a relationship, but wants to meet parents? I can't even pretend to imagine what is going on in his brain.

I take a Women's One A Day prenatal (because...you know), a B12, and then I take a calcium citrate/D3/magnesium in the evenings. I've never had issues with swallowing pills, so it doesn't really bother me, but I have noticed since my surgery, swallowing the pills is a little more difficult than it used to be. Not enough to…
