• Thanks for all the recommendations folks!! Someone recently said Catastrophe on Amazon Prime was funny... Have yet to check it out myself -
• Yes! And Hulu & Amazon Prime
• Preparing a bit better for our June journey by purchasing MCT oil and pre-made butter coffee pods to add to our coffee. I did find adding coconut oil to my coffee very satisfying. A friend who's had success highly recommended Wings coffee pods... his blood pressure is down to normal, no meds
• My husband and I were on keto for the month of January. Going back on Mid June. Definitely successful. Yet I found it hard to maintain. I think you need to have the mindset of Eat to Live. And Not Pine away for the cheat items
• I have to check out the middle. I haven't watched that one. thank you!
• Thanks for an answer that really made me think. I've never been a big fan of these meal replacement shakes. But watching the DVDs I always have this nagging feeling I should do them... Often I find when I do use them, I'm only adding calories to my day as I end up having something to eat regardless. I'm going to be more…
• Welcome! MFP has someone who knows something about everything. Hope you find your way too! I'm a returning member and I'd you'd like we can friend one another and support one another :-D
• Hi Nancy! I'm returning too. I've hypothyroidism so it's harder to lose weight from what i understand. We can do this though. So many tools in our toolbox like MFP :-D. I'll friend ya too!
• Lost 9# on 21 Day Fix. Still doing it but not as strict (5 weeks from when I began). Love the DVD's and the help w/portions from containers. I say try it! It's pretty fantastic!
• I have been going to Koko Fit Club 3X week. If you're unfamiliar w/Koko- we do 15 mins of cardio on an elliptical or treadmill. Using an MP3 player we listen to specific directions to get robust cardio effort - think Tabata. From there 30 mins on a BowFlex lifting weights. Been doing this since August 2013 but I'm out…
• I really like your food diaries idea. Sometimes I ponder "What DO skinny people eat??" Thanks for the advice. I'm going to ponder what type of exercise next.. but for now reign in the food choices.
• You're such an inspiration, Michele!
• Recently I've been setting my cellphone alarm and getting up at 5:40am and go to the gym. I'm back @ 7am. Take a shower and you're ready to roll for the day. Aiming for every other day workouts. Honestly, since I've made the switch I DO feel less irritable. I think as Moms (people) we get our aggression out in the form of…
• Absolutely worth it. Take frozen meat, add liquid and 12 minutes later viola! I'm basic = 1# frozen chicken + jar of salsa. Add rice and a veggie = complete meal! Just nice to know of an easy "fall back" on busy days so you don't HAVE to do take-out, etc. Check out AllRecipes.com for recipe ideas too! Thanks for book…
• If adding weight training/muscle does not help, ask you doctor to check your thyroid levels. If you have hypothyroidism it can make you very tired. And it's pretty common... Daily dose of thyroid hormone and you're as good as gold! -Hoping adding muscle does the trick though!
• Our 5YO "got it" in a few minutes once we took the pedals off, training wheels on. She got the balance fairly quick without the pedals (kind of wild how they encumber the kids). Then we took off the training wheels. Such a proud proud moment ;) GOOD LUCK!!
• We're in Massachusetts. And yup! There's still snow on the ground. It wouldn't be easy to jump off the road - you'd be in deep wet snow. Yuck! We could drive somewhere and run around the school or wherever but where we have the treadmill it's easy to just use that. When the weather does warm up we'll return outside. Who…
• You have to find something you LIKE. And it might change... for years I loved yoga. I like PP idea of couch to 5K. Can you imagine how proud you'd be? You can loose weight eating right but exercise really speeds things up! I have a couple DVD's that are 15 mins for days I am tight on time. Its great you're starting the…
• You can do it! Think baby steps though. Maybe lean on frozen entrees for lunches? Plan to have a treat everyday? Keep food in the car (I like Fiber One Chocolate Chip bars). Having just spent a couple months with Weight Watchers they're great in guiding these small decisions.
• Just sent you an invite :) I too have two little ones, 7YO & 5YO both girls. What's this Shakeology I keep hearing about? Off to Google - you guys both like it?
•
HI, what is 30 DS? lol thanks...
I think it's DVD program called "30 Day Shred" but I could be wrong. I find if I try to eat 5 fruits/vegetable servings a day it keeps me on track to crowd out the other cravings. Peaches have been especially tasty recently but you gotta buy 'em often as they need time to…
• I have a pitta dosha, kapha mind & body. I too used the Chopra Dosha quiz. The one referenced above is no longer available. Getting the book recommended by someone in this group (Eat-Tatse-Heal: An Ayurvedic Cookbook for Modern Living). Thinking a thread for each dosha by helpful, thoughts? Share recipes, scents/candles…
• :drinker: WOW!! Had to do the math --> that's like 12 glasses a day! You've got this challenge down
• Impressive!! Any tips? Imagine you sit down and drink at intervals or something?
• Another idea is time. Recently had a coach and she suggested 10 minutes of exercise every day. The concept is to get into the habit of exercising every day. Same time is preffered. And the added bonus to comitting to 10 mins daily is you usually exercise longer!
• Thought I'd update this message in case anyone else considers the program. The exercise DVD's are AWESOME for me. 25 minutes a day, 5 days a week. They target every area and I am feeling the burn and toning happening!! Definetely worth the money for the DVD's alone in my opinion. The food piece is good. There's actually…
• To relieve the pain I suggest ice water bath. If you can stand it... Add ice to the bath tub and kneel if you don't have proper tub to use at home. Marathon runner had suggested this to me... While I did not do the ice baths maybe if you're in enough pain you'll try it? GOOD LUCK!!!
• Read good things about the Atkins shakes. I too am researching more shake meals. Are you ravenous before Noon? Imagine I would be...
• Wondering the same thing...
• Everyone starts somewhere! I started walking, trotting and now running. Heard it's good to challenge yourself; signed up for my 1st 5K next weekend :-)
