  • True keto doesn’t use vegetable oils as they are inflammatory and over processed.
  • The first couple of weeks are an adjustment as you switch from burning glucose as fuel to burning fat so exercise may be tough. I do exercise now but many keto people do not. I guess I would say I don’t exercise to lose weight. I exercise to firm up and make myself healthier. My best advice I can give you for the first few…
  • Have you checked your measurements? I often “plateau” according to the scale but still lose inches. Especially if you are exercising and gaining muscle. The scale can often be a big, fat liar.
  • I have been following a ketogenic lifestyle since July and it has honestly changed my life. I have Lupus and it has helped my chronic pain and inflammation. As a very welcome side effect, I have lost 16 pounds and 6.5” off my hips, 4.5” off my waist. It has changed my relationship with food.
  • My favorite thing to make with leftover roasted chicken is Tortilla Soup.

  • I would love to join in as well. We are getting a pool this summer and I want to be able to wear a decent bathing suit instead of looking like a granny.

  • I really like Turbo Jam and Hip Hop Abs. Hip Hop Abs is a riot and even my kids beg to do it with me.
  • You and I have the same taste in music!
  • I will be starting 30 Day Shred on Wednesday. I have to have a cortisone injection in my hip tomorrow and will have to take it easy a day or 2. I will send you a friend request.
  • I know it's expensive but I love my Fitbit Aria scale. It syncs with MFP automatically which is way cool.
  • Sent you a friend request. I'm also a Michigander. I'm over on the other side of the state south of Detroit.
  • I am making a soup today out of a shoulder. We roasted it in the oven last night and then today I am making stock and using the pork in the stock with carrots, celery and white beans.

  • Hey, I'm also in MI so I totally get the weather issue. I take a supplement called Migrelief. It was actually recommended by my neurologist. It takes a couple months to build up in your system but it has cut the amount and severity of my migraines in half. Before I was having to ration my Maxalt each month but now I can go…

  • I will be watching this thread as I am also facing a Lumbar Fusion as my next option. I've been battling back pain for years. I have annular tears in L4 and L5 and bulging in S1.
  • I sent a friend request. I have an open food diary and update every day. (well, at least now I do). I exercise at home using DVDs like Jillian Michaels, Turbo Jam, Zumba and Hip Hop Abs.
  • I have lost almost 30 pounds so far and have 50 more to go. I keep my food diary open and am about to kick my exercise in to high gear to lose this weight. If anyone would like to add me, feel free.
  • I have 2 young girls (4 and 6) and I try to not emphasize body size. When we talk about our "dieting" we try to convey to them that we want to be healthy.
