  • do you guys put the strap in a laundry bag to wash in the machine, or just throw it in the machine?
  • i would also like to know this....my HRM has been given me crazy weird heart rates and i heard if i wash it well it will help, but ive tried washing it with soap and it didnt help.....i do know that you can get the whole thing wet though!
  • climbingmountain, please let me know if you hear from them! i tried washing mine and tightening and loosening the strap, and it didnt work! it is so frustrating! do you guys wash yours in the actual washer on a regular cycle?
  • its pretty new, so i would hope it wouldnt be the battery yet! karenp84 - let me know if you figure it out!
  • Hi! I find that the same thing happens to me when I try new activities. I used to run alot, that was really the only exercise I did and then one day I did a JM video for just 20 minutes and nearly died! Stick with it, you will get used to it! And congrats on all your hard work!
  • I dont know about the FT2 but I have the FT4 and it is pretty awesome. I couldnt live without it!
  • thanks for all the tips! I do the Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30, but I wear a Polar HRM so I dont think I am over estimating on the calories burned..... I will keep plugging away and see what happens......
  • I am definitely not an expert....but from what I have read and learned, you do need to increase your calorie intake when you work out. It is often referred to on here as eating back your exercise calories. If you eat 1400 a day, and then workout and burn 500 calories....then you really are only consuming 900 a day....and…
  • okay i will make my food diary public....i usually eat pretty well, but did overload on junk this weekend when i was feeling down.....but for the most part i kept it under....and it was unusual for me to snack like that too....but maybe im doing it more often than i realize. i usually exercise about 5 or 6 times a…
  • I am 5'4' and currently weigh 155. I keep going up and down between 151 and 157. I cant break the 150s....how did all of you guys do it??? I really want to be 140. At my largest, I weighed 178.
  • just make a healthy salad, like chicken caesar or a waldorf salad......(even egg salad) and stuff it in the pita! delish!
  • I also like to weigh in every day, just to see where I am at...but I only log it once a week, on the same day. Then I can see the bigger picture as well. Awhile ago I was struggling and maintaining the same weight, and like some people have said, it did help me to actually increase my calorie consumption. I have a heart…
  • I am glad you decided not to take the rest of those pills. I, too, adore my cat and have a very special relationship with him. That being said, I hope you also have some people in your life who you can count on for support. You are never alone, and I hope that soon you will feel comfortable in your own skin. Your life is…
  • Im not sure I can help, but I just wanted to give you some support and let you know you are not alone! I recently fell of track because of an illness, and felt really depressed about it. I wallowed for a few days and then I decided to take action. I know you can do so too, because you have already been successful in losing…
  • you are such an inspiration! it is nice to see the ups and downs, makes me feel more normal!
  • thank you guys, it feels so good to have support. i was trying to talk to my husband this morning and he said maybe i should just accept myself for who i am and i was really upset by that..... Bjohs....I read your article and interestingly enough, I have incredibly sore muscles, so much so that it hurts to sit down and…
  • I am 5'4'. I was at 151 and recently gained and am now 157. How did you guys get to 140 or less???? I seem to never be able to break the 150 mark, but REALLY want to. What are your work out routines??
  • if you netted 400 calories, that is not good! you will put your body into starvation mode.... plan your day out around your food so that you get all your calories in, and are not struggling to get them in at night. eating a bigger breakfast will also help with that. unless you have alot of weight to lose, having this high…
  • If you eat 1200 calories a day, but burn 400-600 during a workout and don't eat those calories back then your net calories would be 1200-400= 800 net calories You dont want your net calories to be under 1200, ever!!
  • @changingmyweigh
  • thanks for the replies.....i guess it must be right! i was just surprised!!!
  • thanks for the replies! my weight is set correctly and my heart rate did start normal. i was walking fast, and i was talking and getting winded while doing so....i think it must be normal, i just couldnt believe how many burned!!!
  • sorry, new to mfp....what is NSV?
  • phanessa917 - yes! you would eat 1927. net calories means the calories consumed with workout burn included. so like you said: you should eat 1200 you burn 727 so your net should be 1200, meaning you eat 1200 + 727 otherwise if you burned 727 and didnt eat those cals back your net would only be 473!
  • i think we all have good and bad running days......dont let it get you down! it will make you feel great the next time you have a good run!
  • does it work if you do it daily? like eat 1400 one day and then eat 1700, and then back to 1400?
  • oops! how do you delete a post?
  • You burn 500 just by getting up and living, so your maintenance is appx. BMR + 500. That's why they say "eat your BMR" to lose a pound a week. Add exercise and eat the exercise calories back (you still have that 500 deficit to lose the 1 lb/week) and now the exercise will spike your metabolism, burn fat, and build muscle!…
