  • Took it in my early twenties (I am 31 now) to help me over a plateau. It DID curb the appetite, but, as with most medications, you become tolerant and have to up the dose to get the same effect. I also felt spacey, jittery and "not myself" when I first started taking it,. My advice? Don't take it. Keep on keeping on with…
  • I think, sadly, that I am in the minority when it comes to support from a partner. My fiance is INCREDIBLY supportive and encouraging, yet has never once said anything negative about my weight. It's usually myself that beats me up- and he'll always say, "you're beautiful just as you are and I love you just as you are."…
  • Make progress pictures- it really inspires you to halt the bad choices you may be making now because you realize you never, ever want to go back. Mine have just slapped me in the face- I already see that old physiqe coming back from teh "before" pictures, and that is enough to snap me out of thinking about Taco Time for…
  • I just got an e-mail from 24 Hour Fitness offering a FREE BodyBugg if you signed up for 10 or more personal training sessions. But, you *know* that's going to be super expensive, and I think you still have to pay for the monthly service the BodyBugg requires.
  • Love them!! My frustration sometimes is that the folks who do them tend to be...older :) So when I take it up to a 9, they're still at a 4, and the pool sometimes isn't big enough for me to feel I get an intense workout because I have to shift into slower mode so as not to knock anyone down. But I love them- they're always…
  • Couch to 5k, baby! I am NOT a runner, but I am finding that I am loving it- I am on week 3. Go here for the plan; they also offer free podcasts with music and timing intervals! http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml WELL CRAP, my reading skills suck tonight. You're not a beginning runner :) Oh, well- maybe…
  • Yeah, I'll mention that at my next physical! It doesn't feel out of control or scary...it's usually around 160 during, 130 immediately after I've stopped, and then around 100-110 for about 20 minutes after, and then it's back to normal.
  • Hey guys! So, I workout regularly, but am currently about 90-100 pounds overweight. I am very athletic, and can hold my own in turbo-kickboxing and jogging, but here's my question: after turbo-kick box (it's offered at 24 Hour Fitness, and it is a combination of kick-boxing and aerobic routine- it totally kicks my *kitten*…

  • Thanks for the ideas...I knew this day would come, I was just hoping it wouldn't happen :P Apple cider vinegar...hmm, sounds...tasty? LOL, well, if it works, I will try it! Thanks!
  • So I have lost right around 40 pounds...and now the scale is STUCK at 233!! For the past two weeks, it's been plus or minus a pound, and I just can't seem to break through to the 20's!! It's getting frustrating...but I am not giving up- my jeans are looking too good these days ;) Since May, the weight has been steadily…
  • Me, too! Turbo kickbox tonight :) I figured it is a good 400-500 calories for me. Thanks!
  • Just out of curiosity, were the calories burned in kickboxing higher or lower than the info you got? I know my calss (turbo kickboxing) is really intense cardio nonstop for 60 minutes, so I was just wondering what the difference in calorie read-out was :)
  • LOL, pretty doesn't matter at Hooters...just Hooters matter at Hooters!
  • Thank you! :)
  • Hi everyone :) I am searching and searching for the site that shows you a virtual model of your body now, and what you could look like post-weight loss...can anyone help me out? My google-fu has failed!!
  • OBAMARAMA!! I loved it- at the fair, the McCain booth was staffed by all older folks, mostly men who, when asked if they could direct me to the Obama booth, said "There's no one there." But when I found my own way to the Obama booth, they were all younger, more women and totally stoked to be there! I love the excitement of…
  • I am an MA over here in the States. The vomiting and diarrhea could just be food poisoning or the flu. But What you have GOT to keep an eye on is dehydration. If you can't even stomach water, then you need to get to a hospital or urgent care center where they can give your fluids intravenously, if need be. Go to this page,…
  • Yep, this is what I do- I repeat the mantra "IT IS NOT AN OPTION." It really works! Try it when you have a craving for something in your fridge, say to yourself, "It's NOT an option." If you want to stay parked on the couch, tell yourself IT IS NOT AN OPTION. It does work!!
  • Think of it this way- YOUR HEALTH IS PRICELESS!! It'll be worth it- take some before photos now, and then after photos to help you see the difference!
  • Hi everyone :) I'm from the Seattle area and hoping to meet some WL buddies online :) I have lost just over 40 pounds so far, but I have 74 more to go until I reach my GW of 160. So, if you'd like to friend me, please do! A little about me: I go to UW and graduate this year. I am 28, single and dating and have a beautiful…
  • Yay!! I added you as well :) I'm thinking of not next weekend, but the weekend after (Saturday the 5th) to do Big Mt Si- you in?
  • That was hilarious!! LOL- I was like, "oh! a new program! WOO!" Thanks for giving me my laugh for the evening :)
  • Hi! I am new to the site, and I just got a great book full of hikes within 85 miles of Seattle. I love to hike, but am still a beginner and would love to find some hiking partners. I also feel more comfortable hiking with a group than all alone. My next small-yet-big hike is Mt Si- hopefully soon! Also, if you'd like to…
