^^^This! You ARE a runner! Woohooo!

Eating too much or too little or too close to the run can do it. Has she added anything to her diet lately? Some foods and exercise don't go together for some people. This is probably going to be one of those trial and error things.

I quit a 4 pack a day habit after 30 years. That was 14 years ago. I used the patches and stayed on them twice as long as they say to. When the cravings got so bad I knew I was going to crack I would tell myself "OK you can have a cigarette, but you have to wash the dishes first." Or, "OK you can have a cigarette, but you…

You are in better shape that you were in January right? So find another race to train for and get back on the horse that threw you. If you aren't sure about your program (I'm not familiar with c25k) just double it. Do each week twice before you move to the next week. Take your time and above all else HAVE FUN. It's really…

"The Republic" by Plato. It's about thinking, among other things. And no, I did not read it in the original Greek.

Us men are pigs. I thought all you ladies knew that already.

STOP REPOSTING THAT PICTURE! I'm a married man!

Garmin recommends you wash the strap under the tap with a small amount of dish detergent once per week so that is what I do.

She has fairly wide hips. She would look silly if she lost much weight. Anyway, in my opinion, that is what a woman looks like. Drool. Too bad there's no talent there.

LOL, I love your avatar!

I'm not a fitness guru but if you want to ramp things up a bit find something where you are on your feet to replace the recumbent bike and/or get an HRM and learn to use it.

White pasta and white rice for me. There are some great whole grain breads I like though.

I just come to MFP for the information. I never look at the pictures. LOL

Life isn't all about being skinny. That may be heresy around here but that's my opinion. That's not to give you an excuse for cheating but it's also about good friends, good food, and spirits now and then. My vice is bourbon. Life is for enjoying and yes you can enjoy it and get skinny too. Don't forget to budget your…

Come to think of it, I haven't seen Captain Crunch around lately. Anyone know where Count Chockula is?

I eat an egg and two pieces of turkey bacon on two pieces of white bread with one tablespoon of lite mayo with a cup of coffee for breakfast and it is less than 300 calories.

I don't know if you need an entire week off or not but it definitely sounds like you need to reduce your workload for a bit. I would try a couple of days off and then head back to the gym with a reduced schedule for a few days and see how I felt after a week.

Forget "in through the nose out through the mouth", that's for Zen meditation, not for running. It's almost impossible to breath wrong but I suppose it can be done. Just make sure you are breathing deeply. By that I mean you should be "belly breathing". Completely inhale and exhale and don't worry too much about it. You'll…

I think there is something that is not kosher going on when you input your exercise into MFP. I use a Garmin HRM and I also log my runs in another program on my computer and they both come within 10 calories or so of what MFP estimates. When I plug 43 minutes of WALKING at 3.5 mph into MFP I get 233 calores. When I plug in…

I'm retired and have nothing but time. How many miles do you want? LOL

If I don't feel like eating something after a hard run I'll mix a scoop of Body Fortress -Vanilla with eight ounces of orange juice. It might not suite your taste, but I like it and you get some carbs to refuel and some protein to rebuild.

The published heart rates are very conservative. I have never found a formula that even comes close to predicting my max heart rate. Even most treadmill tests end before they take you to your true max (they don't want you to have a heart event while in their care). As a male in my mid 40's I recorded a max of 205 on three…

No PB+J! Heresy I Say! A pox on you!

I just finished a bowl of this. Awesome! Thank you

Go out for a walk. After you are warmed up break into a slow run. If the soreness goes away while you are running you should be OK, just do a little less than you did the day before that made you sore. If the pain doesn't go away or gets worse, call it a day.

My appetite prevents me from eating an extremely low cal diet. Eating back some of the exercise calories lets me go about my day without food being ever present on my mind. It also helps prevent binge eating. I also have to add that I'm not on a 1200 calorie diet. I'm shooting for 1600 which would be a 1 lb loss per week.…

I think most of your fueling should be done the day before. Just eat a relatively high carb diet. A decent breakfast and a VERY LIGHT lunch before the run. If your fuel supplies are topped off you should be able to do 12 miles on nothing but water with no discomfort. One problem runners have is many will eat ALMOST enough…

Sounds like he's just being a guy. LOL I had to add this: It isn't polite to make people uncomfortable though.

Don't sweat the small stuff. You have the rest of your life to get where you want to be. Try the 1200 minimum for a few months and see how it goes. If you have to, increase your exercise. If that doesn't work you can always lower your food intake for a month or two and see how your body reacts. Just take it easy and see…
