  • Well my suggestion would be a goal to achieve something and not limit yourself. I think the reason most "diets" fail is because we try to cut out things we like. I think everything is ok in moderation. I've not worried about the fried foods thing, I stay with in my calorie and usually all my macros, so I'm good with that.…
  • It looks like I lost between 3.2 and 4.4 lbs the last two weeks. I probably should not have picked fried foods as my thing to give up. Because it is not something I feel I need to do to lose weight, and right now my main goal is to get the weight off.
  • I have given up the diet soda. But haven't done the fried foods thing, but I have stayed within my calorie target 90% of the time. I have lost 6 lbs in April. It would be great if we could do a combined spiritual and weight loss challenge for the Month of May.
  • I've lost 50 lbs, my biggest meal of the day is dinner, which I usually don't eat until 9 or 10 pm, usually within an hour I am in bed. I am proof that meal timing and size have nothing to do with metabolism. Basically other than gaining weight, the only way to increase your metabolism is with exercise.
  • Counting Crows...saw them in 2003 when my now husband and I had just started dating. They are amazing in concert. I'm really hoping they come to my area soon, I need another fix! Next would be the Brooks and Dunn concert with keith urban, toby keith, and montgomery gentry. This was before keith urban and mg made it big. It…
  • I'm in - My two will be Diet Sodas (after I finish this one  ) and fried foods. I already fast two non consecutive days a week, does that count for the fasting part?
  • Thanks for the scriptures and the tips on cleansing. I will look into them!
  • I've lost an elephant’s heart Never seen and elephant's heart, but the 5 gallon of bottled water hits home. I am usually the one stuck replacing ours on our work water cooler. That's a lot of weight that I was carrying around. And I have more than that left to lose. :noway:
  • I love this!
  • Love the analogy with the fuel as well. Looking forward to Lesson 2 already!
  • Hi everyone. I've been hoping to find a group like this, I need to strengthen my physical and spiritual self. A little about me: I've been "dieting" since July 2011. Have lost 44 ish lbs so far and need to get at least another 50 off, if not more. I'm almost 34, married, no kids (I too prefer my animals  ). I have…

  • I weigh everyday as well. I tried to just weigh in once a week and I actually lost focus and feel off the wagon for a bit. Back to daily weigh ins now. I have to be obsessed to be successful. I only record my losses on Tuesdays.

  • bump...this sounds soooo good!
  • I love how people make comments that they have no idea what they are talking about. I'm on my 3rd week of ESE as well. I love it so far. I've started losing weight again and I too love not eating. I like to eat a meal and feel full, with ESE I can do that easily. I wasn't sure how I would handle the fast days, but I do not…
  • bump for later... interested in this as well, the only regular thing on my list is green beans and vinegar. :ohwell:
  • I'd like to know what this diet is too. I looooooove tomatoes.
  • Theres no doubt that you can eat better foods for the same amount of calories or less. But for me I was on the go all the time and slim fast was really convenient and made it easy to lose weight. It is not for everyone, but it does work.
  • this is me exactly. Lost 60 lbs on slim fast did not keep it off, but not because of anything to do with slim fast, just me. I used to drink the one you mixed with water but can't find it anymore.
  • I'm not an expert or anything, but my doc once told me to take one meal a week and eat whatever I want don't log it or anything. I think in a way that keeps your body from getting used to a certain amount of calories it has to use up. I also have cheat days to keep my sanity, to have at one meal that you don't have to…
  • I was hoping that posting things like that quiz would helped people stay involved, but don't know if anything will help being the time of year it is.
  • Answers: 1. Set your table for weight loss success! Using smaller dishes to serve food may actually help you to eat less. Try using a salad plate for pasta or a dessert saucer for snacks. According to the book 50 Ways to Lose Ten Pounds (Publications International, 1994), a study showed that 7 out of 10 people on a weight…
  • Ok, today's question of the day is the weight loss myth quiz. I will post the questions today, and tomorrow I will post the answers. Feel free to discuss the questions and answers. Here we go... 1. Will your eyes fool your tummy? Can using a smaller plate -- like a saucer instead of a normal dish -- make you think you're…
  • Today's tip: November offers a variety of tasty, seasonal produce, giving you the perfect excuse to fill half of your plate with fruits and vegetables, as recommended by the USDA's MyPlate. Take advantage of these delicious, seasonal vegetables next time you are at your local supermarket: •Broccoli •Brussels sprouts…
  • That stinks!!! Hope it gets better soon. I am suffering from lack of planning this week. I didn't go to the grocery store this weekend. I was totally unmotivated as far as planning food for the week. I am going to start planning now for next week, so I can get this back on track. But I don't know if I will have a fridge or…
