  • Are you trying to lose weight or gain weight, Dan? If you're losing weight and are on a calorie deficit then it doesn't matter where your carbs come from. Carb is a carb be it sugar, bread or cardboard. Granulated sugar is my main source of carbs, but I'm on a very low carb diet and get most of my energy from fat.
  • Doing a lot of sit ups and abdominal exercises probably wouldn't be a good idea. I'd stay away from back exercises too, since the additional weight from carrying a kid would already give your back enough of a workout. I don't see any reason why you couldn't keep doing arm, shoulder, and leg exercises though.
  • She said she wanted to cut down on carbs, not replace them with other carbs. Fat is a great source of energy to replace carbs. Try nut butter(peanut, almond, cashew..etc), avocados, olive oil, bacon, sausage, cheese, nuts, seeds..etc.
  • Here have a cookie. The OP isn't making excuses. She's actively trying new things, and just asking for other opinions/suggestions.
  • Bacon, eggs, sausage, and a scoop of whey protein in iced coffee. Give it 10-15 mins to settle, then I'm off. That's enough energy to conquer the world.
  • He should cook the meal himself.
  • Isnt 1800-2000 a little high for cutting? I'm 5'8" and I bulk to around 175-180lbs, and when I cut I go down to 1500 calories and eventually 1300. It sucks, but you get used to it after a couple weeks. You stretched your stomach out while bulking, but it'll shrink back up again in a couple weeks.
  • Gum is good for three reasons: (1) Burns approximately 11 calories per hour. (2) Strengthens your jaw making you less susceptible to having your jaw broke in a bare knuckle boxing match. (3) You can use it to stop fuel leaks in emergency situations(see movie: The Rocketeer). That's about it.

  • I'm not overly cautious, but I'd say HIIT sprints should be fine. Kids run around like crazy anyway. Calisthenics is pretty harmless too. I don't know about heavy weights though. I haven't seen or read anything to suggest they can't as long as it's done correctly and in proper form.
  • strengthen your upper body so they appear more proportionate.
  • Boxing/sparing. You vs him. Two pairs of gloves a mat, and head gear. If I were him I'd be pretty motivated not to let my sis whoop me.

  • Right, eat 1900 calories per day, but burn 500 through exercise to equal 1400 net calories. I didn't just look at Saturday, I went through a week's worth of days and saw on average 150+ carbs per day. That's fine, but I've only been able to cut fat and maintain muscle on a low carb, high fat/protein diet. Everyone's…
  • For your height and weight I'd drop your net calorie goal to 1400 per day. If you eat the right foods that is very doable without being hungry. I'd also try swapping most of those carbs with healthy fats such as nut butter, olive oil, cottage cheese, avocado...etc I'm seeing great results with 1400 net calories comprised…
  • That had a lot of steps. I just do this, it's much more simple. Put enough coffee in filter for 10 cups of coffee, but only put in 5 cups of water. Turn on the coffee machine to make REALLY STRONG coffee. Fill a pitcher halfway with icecubes. Poor hot coffee into pitcher. Ice cubes will dilute the strength of the coffee to…
  • The waitstaff is kids friendly, but the typical crowd I would say is NOT. Usually a bunch of guys hanging out, drinking, watching a game...so expect lots of cussing.
  • Try fishing instead of Yoga. It's just as relaxing and you get kill stuff.

  • Not all motivation is warm and cuddly. Different people respond to different types of motivation. For me, a pat on the back, or a "good job!" does nothing for my motivation. I need something more like what a drill sergeant has to offer. A drill sergeant is hostile, angry, and overly critical individual, but he is able to…
  • If you don't like the taste then take your taste bugs out of the equation. Put one spoonful of raw oats in your mouth, and then swallow it down with water. Repeat 4 times. That's a quick, nutritiousness, 30 second breakfast.
  • Open your food/exercise diary for more specific recommendations.
  • I would guess because it doesn't work as well.
  • Yeah it's definitely possible.
  • Sounds like he had involuntary narcissistic rage. When he's on his medication he's a rather cheery fellow.
  • Chicken, turkey, fish, egg whites, tofu, and whey protein, whey protein, whey protein.

  • It's very lean for red meat. If you don't like the game taste soak it overnight in milk and juniper berries if you have them. Always inspect the liver of any wild game you kill. Should be spot free.
