You can be there for your parents, cheering them on and offering support, when they decide to make lifestyle changes. Unfortunately, as you probably well know with your own weight less journey, there is no magic potion, just self-determination. Best wishes on your move ahead, and never give up on family!

Mine was at a routine doctor appointment. I had been ignoring my scale at home for quite some time, so when I saw the number just shy of 240, I was shocked and disgusted. My doctor gave me an earful, too. On the drive home, it just kind of occurred to me, ya know, self, you are young-ish and still reasonably healthy, there…

Wow! That sure doesn't say much for us ladies also who are meeting dates online *ouch!* I work LOTS (in a real profession), and the men I date work LOTS, so online meeting is a nice, convenient, quasi-substitute for the good ol' days... when we had free time and family gatherings with match-making aunties... Granted there…

If you are not looking for something serious, definitely avoid e-harmony... it takes FOREVER to get to know someone on there. Match.com resulted in a five-year, kind of off/on thing, back when it was free. In the past few months, had MUCH success with Zoosk (free), and now dating a local someone exclusively  Not so…

Leaving anyone alone on the trails of AZ qualifies them as complete jerks! You are waayyy better off without these kinds of hiking buddies, for all the above discussed reasons. You are doing marvelous! And you just find some new activity partners to hang with, lady :glasses:

This is awesome! I use a Fitbit too. I need some additional motivation to walk more! So, report to this thread every Sunday?
-
Awe-some lady!!! I can relate. Best on your journey!

It seems that what you want to measure is the question... I use a Fitbit, and it gives me motivation to get in as many "steps" per day as possible, plus it does have the sleep monitoring as well that I find useful. However, if you want to really measure workouts, the HRM is the way to go. I'm not a gym-gal, so l Iike the…

Point well taken. Thank you :-)

Compared to my experience, that sounds like a GOOD thing.

Thanks again! I am happy to hear your situation did not become an emergency :flowerforyou:

Is it possible to "flush" the "extra" serotonin out of the body? Gonna have to look that up...
-
Yep, gonna stick with those for sure from now on. Thanks for your reply and the additional info!
-
Yes, good point I should have mentioned that I take no other meds, only a multi-vitamin. Went through the entire compatibility list on drugs.com for possible interactions... all clear.
-
^^^ this :drinker: I tried e-harmony and the slow pace of it all was exasperating... not that I'm looking to dive right into something, but sheesh, if ya can't even meet, well, what's the point. Tried match and had a long term relationship that ended last year. So, I would say that was okay. Recently, gave Zoosk a shot,…
