  • In Culver City. Always down to hike, gym, climb. Feel free to add me. Been on hiatus for a while. Time to get active again!
  • I'm interested. I'm near the 90 and 405. How do I find out more?
  • Finally getting back into the gym after a long hiatus. LA Fitness member. Culver City is my main. La Cienega and Westchester as well. Yoga classes with Lulu (Elizabeth) at Culver City are amazing. Restarting my 5x5 Strong Lifts program from the beginning.
  • Thanks for the update. Commenting so that I can keep an eye on the thread.
  • Welcome to MFP and Los Angeles. So much cool stuff to do here. Beaches, parks, tracks, gyms. Plenty of great places to get your exercise on. If there's any place to have a good time losing weight, this is it. Best of luck on your healthy changes and no matter what you can always find a supportive word or some good advice…
  • Very cool! I order the same thing every time and I've been approximating. Now I have the actual nutrition info for my sandwich. Thanks!

  • I've done the same thing on a number of occasions. Since I'm not the only one, I went ahead and made a new post in "Website Suggestions". Feel free to head over then and bump it. : ) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/101078-in-the-edit-food-page-add-make-public-checkbox
  • I think we're ready for it now. Pick a date. We'll start it again. : p
  • I would suggest: 1. Read about the side effects and if any of them don't sound appealing (increased blood pressure and sweating, light headedness, dizziness) or if the benefits don't outweigh them, skip it. Some links to side effects: http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/hydroxycut/hydroxycut-sideeffects-benefits.htm…

  • 6" Oven Roasted Chicken on wheat with no cheese (pepper jack if I am feeling it). Lettuce, olives, onion, deli mustard. Not a big fan of tomato or mayo either.

  • Another option is some relaxed yoga or stretching. It's really good for you, burns a few calories and doesn't feel like exercise. Btw. Your profile picture is great. : )
  • I second that. 8 to go and it's all around the middle.
  • I'm thinking the salmon and eggs = not vegan. I would just suggest small snacks between breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner. You would be looking for high calorie, low carb foods. A few handfuls of nuts or some dark chocolate might get you in the 1200 range.
  • 1 stone = 14 lbs. 5 stone = 70 lbs. (stone never goes plural. 1 stone, 2 stone, 30 stone, etc.)
  • I second this. Both are decent choices if you are craving more than just coffee.

  • I only use them if I have a special occasion or am feeling like splurging a little. Otherwise, as long as you meet your base calorie goal, anything left over is just extra lost weight. : )
  • Admitting that you need to fix something is the first step to success. Welcome to MFP. You'll find a ton of information and helpful, supportive people around every corner. Before you know it, you'll be meeting your goals and moving on past them to the next one. My only suggestions to you: 1. Don't cheat. Even if it's bad.…
  • Congrats!
  • No problem at all. FIrst instinct is always to ask the question while it's fresh in your head. Nothing wrong with that. It only came to mind because I was reading it last week. : )
  • Take a look at this thread. There is quite a bit of good information about good sugar vs bad sugar. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/100615-sugar-from-fruits-is-it-too-much
  • Water. I find that if I eat right and only drink a little water throughout the day, I feel hungry. If I keep a glass of water on my desk or a water bottle with me and drink from that throughout the day, all my hunger goes away, even with the exact same calories.
  • I agree 100%. Any new workout routine, either at the gym or at home, would be best served with a professional present atleast the fist day (if not the first couple of days). Unfortunately, the reason that people do the "at home* exercise routines is because they either don't have money for a trainer or want to do it on…
  • That's what's I really like about MFP. Not only is it helping me watch calories, but it's subconsciously building better habits. Even after only a few months I find myself doing things like: - skipping on the free cinnamon rolls at work - stopping eating when i am full - ordering water instead of soda - buying vegetables…
  • Black coffee for the most part is calorie free. I go with 2 tbsp of CoffeeMate Sugar Free Vanilla creamer most mornings (30 calories, no sugar), and if I want some chocolate/mocha taste, I add 1/4 package of standard Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate Powder (35 calories). For a change, make it like normal, then fill a glass with…
  • A fun, quick read: http://health.howstuffworks.com/question447.htm Basically, depending on the temperature, because your body heats the water, you can burn up to 70 calories per day if you drink 64oz of water. Not bad for doing something you should be doing anyway.
  • Best bet is to swing by your doctor for a quick weight and blood pressure test. Their scales are usually calibrated to be pretty accurate, and just a quick nurse visit shouldn't even cost you a co-pay, depending on your insurance. Then compare what they tell you with your scale and Wii and make a quick note on the +/- so…
  • The deal with 200 calories every 3 hours is that it is only 800 calories in a 12 hour day, which could send your body into starvation mode and actually increase your weight. (1000-1200 seems to be the consensus on required calories to keep your body out of starvation mode.) Weight loss is just "burning more calories than…
