Hey Ladies! I'm 5'0 and currently 193. Would love to get down to 150, then ultimately 125-130. Still struggling to get back on track from the holidays. Would love support from shorties as well. ;) Feel free to add me...

I have had my vita-mix for almost 8 years now and I love it. All my fruits are frozen when I blend them and they are always blended smoothly. I don't like chunks of ice in my smoothies, lol. However, they are a bit pricey.

I'm 9/29! ;)

Very inspirational! Way to go!!

You look great girl! Good luck to you on the rest of your journey, but honestly, if you stayed at where you are now, I think you would be fine. :)

Yes, thank you for sharing. I just found out I had hypo like two weeks ago and have since started medication. I wasn't to the point you were, but i have def been giving it my all and not losing much, it was so discouraging. Reading your story and seeing your pictures has truly given me hope. Thank you!!

I was wondering if it would still be considered a shin splint. The pain just moved from the front to the side. But good news, I convinced the hubby to get me new shoes, so I really hope that helps out.

I live in Hawaii, so I run outside. ;) But I'm really leaning towards it might be the shoes. So hopefully I can get a new pair soon.

I just got these shoes for Christmas. However, I do plan on going to get fitted at an actual runners shoe store next month. Maybe I can ask the hubby to push it up a couple of weeks, so I can see if that is the problem. And I do cross train, 2-3 times a week. Thanks for the feedback. ;)

I am 5'0, so when I was looking at pictures I did start to feel intimidated. I'm doing WD with my husband and a couple of his co-workers so I'm sure we'll have lots of fun. Your post is reassuring. :)

I'm doing the WD here in Hawaii in March. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm also training for a half, so I'm not as worried about my endurance for running as I am for anything that might have to do with upper body strength......

Amazing!! Great job!! Good luck to you and your family. I'm sure seeing your transformation will help motivate the kiddos. ;)

I think the most important thing for a beginner is to start off slow. I am no pro, I still have to walk/jog my runs. But I also started off thinking I could never run a mile straight. Three months later, I can now run 1.80 miles straight, inching closer to two miles. ;) I think interval running is a great approach, it…

I read that shin splints are from "too much too soon". Maybe try slowing down your pace or distance. And gradually build back up. Also I read about filling those little dixie cups up with water, then freezing them. After a run, peel the cup off the ice or just roll the whole thing as is over your shins. What worked for me…

Like many others have said, start off slow. Don't try to actually run, just do a little jog that is at conversational pace. If you only last 15 seconds, that's ok. Give yourself time to recover and then try another 15. Or however length of time you can go. Everyone starts somewhere and you definitely don't want to hurt…
