  • Sometimes it just feels so unfair when i am eating 300 calorie meals (4 a day) and I'm losing less than 1/2 a pound a week, or plateauing. I see weight loss articles about 500 calorie meals and I'm like, nope!! 😑
  • I love sweet and sour Chicken!!! https://www.asaucykitchen.com/sweet-and-sour-chicken-paleo-low-fodmap/
  • My favorite lunch is a big salad with some spinach/other safe veggies, some salmon/tuna/other seafood, and oil and vinegar. Low FODMAP, healthy, and low calorie!
  • Everything in moderation, but since i have a sweet tooth, i like sweets that have more volume for the calories they have. That way i can have more! Fruit and fruit based desserts, whipped things like mousse, sugar free jello and pudding.

  • I have not been diagnosed with hashi's but I did try the autoimmune diet. It's not easy. Start it during a time when you won't be going out to eat for a while. it is most difficult to stick to at a restaurant. It's also difficult at parties. I started it last month with the intention of trying it for a month before the…
  • I have 3 blankets, a rug, a garland, 2 socks, a toy, and probably some others im forgetting. Currently working on the toy, a mermaid for my daughter.
  • How odd... Or maybe I'm just behind the times... I met my protein, fruit & veg, calorie, and exercise goals today! And i took the community center weight room orientation, so i can now use their equipment whenever i want. (And it's free this year :open_mouth: )
  • 800g met today with corn, green beans, peaches, and applesauce. Not a lot of variety, just larger portions.
  • Yeah, i have 3 goals: protein, fruit & veg, and calories. It's taken me a while to figure out the balance. Starchy foods are a bonus, and i sure am eating a lot less of them than i used to. I just don't have the calories left for much of them. (Though i usually find a way to fit chocolate in. ;) ) My total carbs are…
  • My scale constantly goes up and down no matter what i do. I have to ignore 3 pound day to day changes and look at the overall trend.
  • Stalls and whooshes are a very mysterious thing. Women tend to have a lot more problems with water retention than men. I don't completely understand it (i don't think anyone does) but you might find this article interesting: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html/ My weight is constantly…
  • One of the major benefits of eating fruits and veggies is the fiber content. I found this article about all the effects of fiber really interesting. Some stuff i had never heard of! http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/nutrition/fiber-its-natures-broom.html/
  • Met my protein goal, fruit & veg goal, and calorie goal. Despite eating 3 brownies! My family tends to say pop but my peers tend to say soda. I tend to say soda but both sound normal to me. I've never drunk it often so i don't have a strong habit either way.
  • 800g today! Orange, Apple, bunch of grapes Salad of lettuce, asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes Eggplant and Sweet potatoes for dinner (SP is a gray area but it's high nutrition so for this I'm counting it, 750g without it) I only ate 6 servings using my old method of counting (~50 calories per serving), so with my last diet…
  • Had a craving for brownies. Found this recipe that's pretty high in protein and tastes good too. I used eggs and butter and half erythritol. http://minimalistbaker.com/vegan-gluten-free-black-bean-brownies/
  • Because, for the vast majority of human history, the most important thing was to prevent you from starving to death when food became scarce. Food availability wasn't reliable, as it is today in our culture. The body reacts to dieting like you are at risk for starving. The best thing for your survival is to be able to…
  • Yum! Fresh off the vine or in a cobbler. greek yogurt
  • I'm one of those 1200 calorie eaters. But my maintenance calories are 1500 so that's only a 300 calorie deficit. I lose weight slowly. I find it helpful to measure my waist with a tape measure, as well as look at my weight. There have been weeks where I haven't dropped a pound but I did lose 3 inches! Then the next week…
  • When I first greatly increased my fruit and veg intake, I relied on prepping (cleaning and chopping) large amounts ahead of time so I could just grab and eat it when I needed to. I made large fruit salads and stored them in the fridge, and I prepped a bunch of lettuce and stored that in the fridge too (tip: line a…
  • When I was a vegetarian, I didn't actually eat all that many fruits and veggies. Mostly grains and dairy. a lot of vegetarians I know are the same. And for vegans, grains and soy. You wouldn't be a bad vegetarian, just an average one. My top fruit and veg intake happened after I stopped being a vegetarian and just…
  • My goal is 8-10 servings of fruits and veg a day. In my last diet I ate 8 servings a day. For this diet, I'm trying a higher protein diet, but my fruit and veg intake has plummeted as I've tried to figure out more protein. Now that I've gotten used to that, I am starting to turn my attention back to fruits and veg. Today I…
  • When I was a teen, I wore size 14 adult pants. Now I'm 20 pounds heavier and wear size 12's. I usually wear a size large, but I have a XS coat that fits perfectly. I wish they would just switch to measurements, like men's clothes. Who cares if I would wear a size 37 or whatever. At least I wouldn't have to try…
  • Swim shorts are in now, popular with teens. But unfortunately at my weight they just tend to ride up my legs. :unamused: I recently bought a pair of synthetic running pants, capri length. I wear it combined with a tankini top to the pool. It's modest yet doesn't cover everything. I've gotten complements on it.
  • I've never done WW but I have dieted several times in the past. Each time is harder than the last! :frowning: This time around I'm trying my hardest for this to be my last time losing weight! I've been reading furiously about the current nutrition and weight loss science so I give myself the best chance at maintenance. I…
  • YUM!!! I have a fig tree in the front yard... the season is short but they are oh so good! Kiwis are yum too.. I eat them fuzzy skin and all. seaweed
  • BTW, i started my last pregnancy at 5'2", 155 lbs. I ate 1500 calories for the first trimester, to maintain my weight. (It's my maintenance calories when sedentary, whether or not I'm pregnant) That's a fine amount of calories for the first trimester. But don't try to lose. During the second and third trimester, increase…
  • Don't try to lose weight while you're pregnant, unless you are under a doctor's supervision. If you are overweight, you can try not to gain any more weight (maintain) at least for the first trimester of pregnancy. But unless you are extremely obese, you must gain at least a little weight by the end of pregnancy for the…

  • I've been trying to eat more protein for breakfast, but today i was really craving cereal. Unfortunately we were out of milk. But i made do. Multi grain Cheerios, unsweetened almond milk, jaggery, chocolate chips. 234 calories. Not bad considering the unsweetened milk.
