Great Job! I started over again Monday, 7/24.

I am impressed by all you do. I am a working mom but I only have one child. I am trying to really commit to my food/exercise diary. In hopes of loosing some weight. I take a walk first thing in the morning, I try to walk at work during the day and I walk the dog in the evening.

You wrote my post. Today I start over (again). But this time I am determined to be successful. I was able to do it 20 years ago, I know I can do it again.

I had to click on your post to see what others had responded for encouragement. Not because I am trying to lose the last 5-10 lbs but because I am trying to lose the first 5-10 lbs. HA-HA

I find myself in the same boat. I just went to the doctor yesterday and once I saw the numbers on the scale. I realize I need to take extreme measures.

Basically that is the story of my entire life. I can't recall the many of times I have lost just too gain back sometimes it took several years to slowly accumulate. Lately it seems to take a matter of days. The logging is definitely the most helpful to me also, trying keep my food intake at a level I am comfortable with…

I know you are not going to like this reply, but I simply don't go, if for some reason someone wants me to go there for socialization such as a group of friends/family) eat before I leave. If I order anything it is a beverage, side order of fruits or small "plain" salad, toast plain with jelly, etc and then just compute…

Congratulations! On your weight loss. I am not sure what your age is. But since I am in my mid-40's I can tell you physically I have changed a lot, not just the additional weight I have put on. So I realize once I lose the weight I will still need to come to terms with how my face and body has aged and changed and that I…

The best suggestion I have heard was do the bulk of your shopping around the parameter of the grocery store. That way the foods you buy will not be high in process. I also limit myself to one item on each isle or section. i.e. morning breakfast item I only pick one, cereal, oatmeal, grits; snack foods i.e. such as…

First week I am doing pretty good. Tuesday is Take Out Tuesday at my house so I really need to work on Tuesday dinner solutions.

Slowly making progress.

I know exactly what you mean. I do okay and then one slip up and I seem to fall down the mountain. The older I get the harder it seems to get. I too am an emotional eater. I just try to take small baby steps and as soon as I fall (binge) jump back up and get back on track. Good luck

Thanks for all the replies I was seriously considering trying it. But I believe I will hold off.

My biggest problem is seriously my sweet tooth, then my love for starches (bread, potatoes, pastas). I over eat on those foods and under eat on healthier choices. I am also not physically active. I lack self-discipline.in many areas food is one of them.

Hi, I am single mom and I work also so I was hoping to respond. I have a fitness coworker at work so we have been walking daily and we just increased it to 2 miles per day. I also use fitness pal which is a big help. After reading your post I see that exercise during work is not an option for you. When my son was in…

I would also like to join, my goal will be 40 miles in January, since I don't have a gym membership and I usually walk at work during lunch.

Hello, I am 45 year old mom with a 11 year old son. I have noticed since I turned 40 its harder than ever to loose weight. I have always been a binge/stress eater and I am forever having to start another diet. I was motivated 2t years ago and lost 20 pounds but I allowed the holidays to sabotage my efforts. I have…
