Same here.

I lost tons of weight - easily during breastfeeding. Sadly, when I stopped I gained it all back. I wish someone would hand me their twins to feed - would be easier than dieting!

I totally understand how you feel. It's exhausting, isn't it, the never-ending battle? What I've discovered recently - a big part of what makes me feel exhausted is the inner dialogue going on in my head. I'm trying hard not to overthink it and 'just do it'. Seems to be helping.

I typically do an 18 hour stretch with no food, just water and gum. I find if I eat any food, it just stimulates my appetite. If I don't eat, I have very little hunger during the day. I fast about twice/week. If you're starting off, I would just start by skipping breakfast and see how you feel. You can gradually increase…

Try not to freak out. I had a holiday like this and I got so discouraged I stopped dieting for months. In your situation it could be water retention due to the vigorous exercise - also when you're on holiday and eating out, the food has more salt than you're probably used. Just keep recording your calories diligently and…

Just when I thought I'd heard it all. :noway:

Nothing wrong with gum. The other stuff - don't have it in the house. Wondering also if you're not getting enough to eat during the day.

You're my new hero. Congratulations!

Good advice. My evil plan is to keep it quiet for now then after I lose alot of weight, let them come and ask how I did it.
-
LOL, yeah, if you're going to take advice, at least make sure the advice-giver looks healthy.

Kind of sounds like what my doctor (who's been slim all her life) told me. I was trying to tell her how I was struggling to lose weight and she quipped "The law of thermodynamics still applies.". Um, thanks. I will be sure to stop stuffing myself with potato chips every evening and eating chocolate bars for lunch. Duh! I…

You're right, burgers can fit into a weight loss plan. However, the point is, the OP didn't want to spend money at McDs and had something else waiting for her at home.

ROFL, some of these responses are hilarious! My grandmother had a good one: she'd say "I've just brushed my teeth" (she hasdentures). Which was probably the truth and anyway, it usually had a stunning effect on the food pusher.

This is where you repeat yourself, calmly and firmly. If she continues to argue with you, maybe she's not the type of friend you want.
-
Thanks! I'm getting back on track now and very happy to leave the grains behind!
-
Oh yeah, and they have dessert every night. Brownies, apple crumble with icecream, ginger snap cookies. I hate comparing myself to my normal-weight sister, but it's bleeping annoying.
-
That's bizarre. I hope he gets banned.

I agree. I was referring to the general statements people were making.

As one who's taken courses on lacation, I just want to correct some misinformation. The quality of your breastmilk does NOT change depending on your diet unless you're very malnourished. The only people who need to worry about the quality of their milk are women who are on very strict diets, for instance vegans or those…

The OP sent me (an probably hundreds of other people) a friend request. Thanks, but no thanks!

You've just had a baby - please go easier on yourself. Slow and steady wins the race. People who lose weight quickly are more likely to regain it quickly and your body is still recovering from giving birth. Most important thing right now is to feed yourself, your baby and get enough sleep. Exercise is good, but you don't…

Typically, eggs+cheese+raw veggies+dip Recently, protein fruit smoothie with yogurt+raw veggies

I personally don't eat more carbs on days I exercise.

I'm mystified as to why you're not losing. You're exercising and keeping your calories low. Your ticker says you have 100 pounds to lose? Are you weighing and measuring all your food, not just eyeballing it? There are a few different odd things that can happen with weight loss. Sometimes you will lose inches before pounds.…

Rice, eggs. Food bank, also. Don't feel bad if you need to go there. Maybe take on some extra work if you can manage the time. Cleaners make good money here and you can set your own hours.
-
Why do you want to switch to low carb? Looks like your diet has gone very well.

Does the water taste bad where you guys live? Just wondering if a filter would help? Other than that, how about Crystal Light or experimenting with different types of tea. Soup and fruit are good too, lots of water in them. How about deciding how much you think you shoudl drink and measuring it out in the beginning of the…

Just keep at it. MFP does work if you're consistent with your tracking. I know it's frustrating at times, but we'll get there.
-
You can do it! Try to find foods and exercise you look forward to, rather than make it all about suffering!

Are you weighing and measuring your food? I"m wondering how you can eat only 1200 calories/day and do all that exercise?
