Any scuba divers here?
I'm thinking about trying a scuba class. What level of fitness do you need to do this? How heavy is the equipment? Have you heard of anyone who didn't like it or couldn't do it (aside from prohibited medical condition)? Thanks!

4 year milestone
This week is my 4 year "fitversary", my journey to health and fitness. Back then I couldn't walk up my own steep driveway without rest breaks and couldn't walk more the 1/4 mile without excruciating hip, knee, and foot pain. I found an awesome trainer who helped me learn how to exercise at the pace I could tolerate and…

DL vs squat
Why is DL called a pulling exercise for lower body and squats are pushing ? I know there is a slight difference in using quads vs hams but the overall direction/type of leg movement seems almost the same. Also, what’s the difference between glute bridge and hip thrust. I tried looking up pictures but still couldn’t discern…

A2 milk ?
I keep seeing ads for A2 Milk. It comes from cows that produce milk with only this protein. Apparently some people who are dairy intolerant are actually sensitive to a certain A1 protein in milk. A2 eliminates the offending protein from the cows diet and some people are able to drink milk again. This is not an altered…

Libra question
Does anyone know how Libra app calculates the trend weight? In Sept I have 5 days above my trend line and 15 below. (Missed a few days due to travel.) When I calculate a mathmeticsl average, it is .5 lb lower than what Libra shows for my current trend weight. When I change the smoothing days in settings, the trend weight…

Kick
Any tips on how to "kick from the hips" (front and back crawl)? I know that's what I'm supposed to do, and I'm repeatedly told I'm not doing it, but I haven't had an instructor who can give me concrete tips on what to focus on or do to make this happen. I've been able to correct my arms on all 3 strokes as well as my…

Core
Do you have any tips or drills on how I can keep my core tighter? I'm bending too much in the middle.. It's hard to consciously think about it ALL the time because there are many other aspects of my stroke I'm trying to focus on too. It's a problem in all my strokes but if you need to choose one, use Front crawl. I do…

Corned beef broth
I made some corned beef and cabbage - - YUM! - - and have a couple cups of broth left over. I hate to throw it out but am not sure how to best use it. Corned beef has such a unique flavor from the spices, I'm not sure how the broth would work for vegetable soup? Any thoughts appreciated!

Hand paddles
I recently started using hand paddles for part of my swim. I really like them, but haven't figured out how to do an open turn with them because I can't grab the wall. I don't do flip turns and not interested in starting at this time. Thanks!

At home workout resource
Here are great workouts that can be done with a friend, partner, or kids at home, with no equipment. This is part of an ad for GEICO but I thought it was worth posting anyway. https://www.facebook.com/officialgoodful/videos/1958833477520442/

If you've had a fitness or health set back from illness or injury...
I came across this video by national champion pairs figure skater Alexia Knierim. She has a great perspective and I thought it might be encouraging to someone here. http://video.self.com/watch/olympian-alexa-knierim-is-stronger-than-ever It looks like there are other similar videos from other athletes on this site.
