How to progress from knee push ups
I have been modifying push ups to knee push ups for years because I was told by an athletic trainer that it’s important to have full range of motion before increasing weight. I can do many knee push ups at full ROM (nose to the floor) but I continue to struggle to do more than 2-3 full push ups with full ROM. What are your…

Flexibility in Beachbody programs
Hello- looking for some thoughts from folks who use Beachbody on demand programs. I’ve been using the 21 day fix for a little while and am interested in starting other programs but am overwhelmed with what to do and where to start. I enjoy doing other activities like hiking, yoga, and rock climbing, so I want to be able to…

Recommendations for at home workout programs
Hello! I’m looking for recommendations for an at home workout program as I am thinking about canceling my gym membership. I’d like something that will give me my strength and cardio needs and is structured and tells me what to do from day to day. I’m willing to buy some equipment like adjustable weights and I have a few…

Activity Level + eating back calories
I know there have been several threads on this topic but I’m still confused and hoping for some advice. I am 5’3”, ~131 pounds, with a goal weight of ~120-125. I currently have selected lightly active- is this meant to be exclusive or inclusive or intentional exercise? I have MFP connected to my Fitbit, so I don’t input…

Quick, healthy, easy, delicious dinners? Do they exist?? ;)
I need some ideas for fast and easy dinners. I’m cooking for one (though like to make additional servings for leftovers to have for lunches or other dinners) and don’t particularly enjoy cooking (I’m also not very good at it!). I often don’t get home from work until 6:30/7:00 and I want to have dinner pretty quickly so I…

No DOMS= no muscle gain?
I’ve been doing a boot camp class 2-3 times/week since about last July. We use weights (I use 5-12 pound dumbbells depending on the exercise) and do cardio, plyos, etc. I feel like my fitness progress has been slower than expected. I think I had more DOMS when I started but haven’t been feeling any for quite a while, even…

Confused about how much protein?
I’m confused about how much protein I should be aiming for. I am 5”3’ female, 133 pounds. My goal is to lose about 10 pounds, though I am less concerned about my actual weight as I am with losing fat. I would like to “tone up” as well. I am doing 3-5 workouts per week with weights and cardio, plus walks and yoga. I see…

End of the night “treats”
Hey all, Looking for some ideas for ideas for things I can use in place of dessert as a little reward or treat. I frequently have and look forward to relaxing at the end of the night with a bowl of ice cream or at least a square of ghiradelli salted caramel dark chocolate while watching a favorite tv show. I’m going to try…

10 Day Beach Body
Ok folks, I’ve got a vacation in Jamaica on February 10. I’ve been trying to eat healthier and workout more the past few months but I want to step up my game for the last week and a half. I’m realistic and I know I can’t expect a miracle in that time frame, but what are your best tips to get a little extra “toning” and…

No Carb Snacks
Hey all, I'm looking for some ideas for simple no carb snacks. I really like to be able to have a snack at the end of the evening as long as I'm still in my calorie goals for the day, usually something really "snacky", either sweet or salty, like popcorn or puffcorn, sugar free pudding, "dessert" yogurt, chex mix, etc. But…

MFP iOS calorie adjustment vs step calorie adjustment
Hi all, After going for a walk during my lunch break at work, MFP has two different calorie adjustments, the step counter and the iOS adjusted. What is the difference between these two counts? I'm assuming using both toward calories burned is redundant, is that correct?

Lifting Newbie ???'s
Hello folks, So for the longest time, my strength training routine has only included yoga, body weight exercises, and classes at my gym that used 5-8 lb weights for a lot of reps. I learned from MFP forums and the internet, that this is not exactly the most efficient way of looking more "toned" (don't worry, I know that…

Daily weight loss and gain
It's very frustrating for me to feel like I've had a good day of accurate logging and a high intensity workout and then see my weight go UP the next day. Does that necessarily mean my logging was incorrect? I feel like the mornings I do lose on the scale, my day before wasn't usually any better than usual?

WTF is going on in these gyms?
Just for some giggles: http://www.popsugar.com/fitness/Funny-Workout-Videos-36560189?stream_view=1 This is coming from someone who is a bit intimidated by the weight machines at the gyms and afraid of being judged, but some of this is just silly!

How in the world do I pick a protein powder??
Hemp, whey, casein, soy, my head is starting to spin with all the option available for protein powder! I think I would benefit from incorporating a protein powder in my diet, I tend to struggle to hit my daily protein goals even with chicken, low fat cheese, beans, quinoa, greek yogurt, tuna, etc. I think I've narrowed my…

Why and how to start lifting
Hello! My current exercise regime consists of interval running or ellipticaling, hiking, biking, and lots of classes like TRX, barre, body pump, kickboxing, etc. Most of my resistance training thus far involves using 5 lb hand weights or body weight. My muscles are often exhausted at the end of class and sometimes sore the…

Where to start with macro goals?
I'm very new to all of this and right now my goals are the standards MFP set them as so 50-30-20 for carbs, fats, and protein. However, in having trouble losing body fat and I'm wondering if these goals could be related to that issue. My goals are to get from 133 to between 115-120 but what I'm really concerned about is…

Nutrition Goals
Hi all, I'm fairly new to MyFitnessPal, started regularly logging food and exercise about two months ago, and I'm brand new to the forum. When I started the app, I put in my weight loss goals and personal stats (I'm 23, 5' 3.5", 127 lbs, down from 130-133, and my ideal weight is between 115-120), and the app gave me…
