Thank you all for these great ideas! I never would have thought of staying on toes for the way down and dropping to knees for the way up.

Thank you both! That was helpful. I haven’t been logging consistently for that long so I will just continue doing what feels right based on hunger levels and how many calories are left and see how things are looking in a month or so :)

Thank you all! I’ve been hesitant to spend effort on learning lifting at this point because I’m mostly concerned about losing fat. I think I have a fair amount of muscle that would be visible if I decrease my fat. I figure the boot camp is giving me some resistance training with cardio to help me maintain some muscle while…

I have a very strong sweet tooth! If I could eat sweets everyday all day, I would! I just finished two weeks of no added sugar and I do really feel like it’s helped me to not crave sweets as much. I am trying to go longer with no sweets (but adding back in like the salad dressing that has sugar in it) to keep it up.

Kefir, Greek yogurt, Pb2, and chia seeds are all ways of giving your smoothie more protein, which can help with how filling it is. Also, yes, 3 tablespoons will be very high in calories for a smoothie, but if it's 3 teaspoons like I think you may have meant, that's totally different and likely very appropriate!

One of the most important things about exercise is finding something you enjoy and will stick to, so well done for doing that! Yoga has so many benefits and so many variations; great choice if it's working for you!

I've read online that people burn 800-1000 calories generally in an hour of insanity, which sounds incredibly high to me. I usually log 500 for an hour, which also seems high, so I try not to eat all those back. Yesterday's class I didn't do any jumping things (stuck to non jumping modifications), because my knees were…

Another vote for Yoga with Adriene. Love her! I know you say you can't get to a class, but I strongly encourage you to consider finding a studio (or a YMCA) where you can go. Or at least, go to a beginner class so that a teacher can correct your form. A teacher's perspective and help can be really important in making sure…

I'm sorry you're struggling with anxiety and panic disorder. I'd highly recommend seeing a mental health professional if you are not already. If you talk to your general physician, they should be able to refer you to someone. If you are a student, college campuses usually have mental health included in student health…

People talk about using the correct nutritional information. For my meat and fish, I usually buy individually frozen pieces in a bag and use the scanner option to put in the nutritional info. How do I determine if the info on the bag is cooked or raw?

It can be a challenge. For me it's not the carrots versus the chips. It's the box of macaroni and cheese versus a homemade veggie filled pasta dish. Especially since there's one of me to cook for, it can get espensive to try new healthy meals especially when recipes call for fresh produce or lots of seasonings I haven't…

"High intensity workouts" = 1 hour of insanity at my YMCA

I do usually try to save calories for the end of the day snack, but sometimes my meals end up being at or over my carb limit, so I was just trying to come up with some ideas. Thanks so far!

Queso, guac, margaritas, and enchiladas. Sorry to be no help  I love mexican food and it's definitely one of my weaknesses.
-
I usually have between 100-200 calories left for a snack. Sometimes a bit more, but usually then I have enough carbs left for my usual snacks.

I haven't tried them yet, but I'm excited about trying the skinny cow line. Also just plain single serve things in general. The nightly ice cream sundaes my dad and I used to make when I was a kid have severely skewed my perception of a serving of ice cream if I'm scooping myself :p

What's all your take on baking with protein powder? I've heard that baking whey protein denatures the protein, which makes it somewhat useless as a protein snack if I'm understanding correctly? What's the max temperature (F or C) that whey protein can be cooked to?

I dunno how many of these are "sugar-free," but this is my pinterest board devoted to healthier treat recipes. I also love jello's sugar free pudding. https://www.pinterest.com/erinelizabeth28/healthy-treats/

Smoothies are my go to: spinach, almond milk, plain greek yogurt, banana + other fruit (usually strawberries or mixed berries), or sometimes I sub out the extra fruit for protein powder or a spoon of peanut butter. I also do toast with PB or flavored greek yogurt (with less sugar than protein, usually I buy Dannon or…

This forum has been super helpful guys! There's just so much information out there that it's difficult to narrow down whats really important! My question that I still have is concerning strength training routines: Currently I mix up my workouts a lot. For example, this week I've done 50 minutes on the elliptical, a 15…

Thanks for all the ideas guys! Grazing on healthy stuff, drinking water, keeping hands busy, and gum are all really great ideas! I need to get back to knitting and crocheting; it keeps me from snacking while watching tv or movies!

Agreeing with everyone's "log it an move on" attitude. I feel better by going for a good long walk (not a run or an intense workout, not because it's "bad" but just because that doesn't sound nice on a full belly). Lots of water for the rest of the day too. On days when I binge early on, I will sometimes just have a…

I love love love Egyptian licorice :)

The other half of yesterday's chipotle chicken burrito with cheese, sour cream and guac :*

Never tried this, but I've heard this is good before.

What's IG mean? I'm interested in those muffins from @Yoyo_Fitness!

I think what she was saying was that 2,534 calories was what she burned in workout calories that week, not total calories burned in the week.

Switch up your workouts: if you keep doing the same running at the same intensity your body's going to adapt to it and will burn less calories than it used to. Consider adding in circuits, interval training, plyos, etc. to your cardio routine. I would also think about upping your strength training in order to "tone up."…

Another vote for shredded meat, that might help the texture. Black bean burgers are great too but don't have the usual texture and taste of plain beans.
