Thin PCOS weird hormonal feedback?
I'm 5'6" and 117, which is two pounds from my goal at the lower end of the BMI chart. Even though it's unusual I do take metformin for blood sugar control and have been told I have thin person PCOS, or "a touch" of PCOS. I've always been on the fit, thin side but am shedding the last post-pregnancy pounds. Maybe this is a…

How to adjust calories
Is there a way to change my Fitbit calorie adjustment so it automatically adjust just 2/3 of this amount? I figured out based on my weight loss and records for the last month that I'm only burning this fraction of the calories that Fitbit says I am. I guess I could always just estimate this manually, but it would be more…

When do you call goal?
I took your advice and use Trend Weight and am within goal sight. Do I keep losing until Trendweight says I've reached goal (which means going under goal to reach that moving average) or move to maintenance once the scale hits goal?

Fitbit calories just not adding up
Since getting a Fitbit Jan. 15 and becoming a ton more active, I noticed it hasn't made a difference in my rate of loss at all. Look at the graph below at Jan 15 when I started using it, burning an average of 2,100 calories a day. For the time being I haven't been eating back my exercise calories, but average consumption…

How do you personally handle factoring in cooking oil?
Without thinking last night I liberally oiled my saute pan, threw in the trout and cooked away. Later I served myself a portion I weighed out and completely forgot about the oil. I even tipped the pan and added the drippings, thinking this was rendered fat and part of the weight. Would you have weighed and cooked your…

What activity setting for breastfeeding?
I'm exclusively breastfeeding my two month old, and would guess this burns (for me) an extra 300 a day. I know that some estimate up to 500, but in my experience this was too high. Anyway, outside of exercise I would say my activity level is sedentary. The last few weeks I've had my MFP activity level set to lightly…

How to see weekly deficit in MFP?
I'm sorry if this is somewhere in the Help section, but I can't seem to find it. How do you find the sum of your weekly deficit in MFP? I'd like to see how my efforts are working over the long haul. Is it in the app, on the web, both? And where?

Calories in Red Lobster live Maine lobster?
The website says the live Maine lobster meal is 730 calories, but that includes all the sides. But since I will order steamed sides, I don't want to include all of that. I'm estimating 3 oz of lobster meat. Does anyone know how many cals are in the butter it comes with? Here is their nutrition guide:…

What are your favorite restaurant meals with known nutrition data?
I'm still practicing at estimating calories when we eat out, so for now I'm sticking to restaurants that post their nutritional info for date night with my hubby. What are your favorite restaurants with nutrition data, and which dishes do you feel like you get a lot of bang for your calorie buck? I'll go first: Victoria…

Do you keep peanut butter in the house?
Peanut butter is a bit of a trigger food for me. Have any PB lovers out there found success in eating this in moderation? What's your technique? Or have you found it is best to just keep it away?

Counting bacon
So I'm curious how you log bacon. The Applegate Farms nutrition label says 2 slices, pan fried is 60 calories and weighs 14 g. The raw pieces are together 56g. So, I guess they are counting on you cooking the heck out of it?

Cooking for family
For those of you who cook for a family, how do you handle making your own food? Typically when I cook I follow a recipe only loosely and customize it to my taste. Now that I'm trying to track calories, it takes a lot of extra time to cook dinner. I weigh out my ingredients, cook my meal, then have to cook the rest for the…

Success plan for eating at someone else's home?
I would love your advice for how you count calories when you're a guest at someone's house. As someone who weighs and tracks all my meals home, it is a real challenge: I have no idea what will be served until we arrive, and then I have to figure out what and how much to eat. I also tend to eat when I'm nervous, which…
