John Meadows Has Passed
Just learned tonight that John Meadows aka Mountain Dog has passed in his sleep last night at the age of just 49. He suffered a heart attack last year due to a blood clotting disorder but was given a seemingly clean bill of health. I'm so shocked, he was so happy to give his vast knowledge of lifting to all for free on YT.

Perimenopause, PMDD, exercise and HRT
Yep, I'm a woman of a certain age...45 in August, and the premenopausal symptoms plus premenstrual dysphoric disorder are beating me to a pulp. My periods are every 25 days with a 'glitch in the hormone matrix' occurring during the ovulation stage and a week before bleeding....so that's 2 whole weeks of pure crapulence 🤔😶…

C25K Tips?
Hello, I've been lifting weights for 2 years but have been recently looking into running too...not long distance, just 5k at the most. I've added an app to my phone but wondered if anyone had anything they would have liked to have known before they started?

Hypothyroidism & Exercise
I've just been diagnosed with hypothyroid with low B12 and Ferritin and by the power of Greyskull I lift 4 days a week... Is anyone hypo or indeed hyper?

Advancement on current programme
I've been following a 4 day hypertrophy split for a year now, gained 18 pounds and now cutting. Is it time for a change? I feel comfortable enough with my lifting, adding in a fourth set if I feel like I can. Does your body get used to things and need a switch up? My current programme…

Intuitive Eating
I'm back to a vegan diet, cooking from scratch and adding in great protein and micro's along the way. Hitting my macros within 20 cals some days, some even less. I'm starting to cut after a bulk of 18 pounds and have entered my 3rd week reducing cals but only by 200 so far. I've been I'll with a virus for a week so no gym…

Leaning forward on abduction machine
Why do I see women doing this? I understand this machine works glutes and stabilisers when used in the usual manner but what are the supposed benefits of leaning forward or even standing?

Bulking making me ill
I've nearly added 23 pounds in 32 weeks on 2400 cal's per day but have had to go down to 2300 as I couldn't face the food. Literally just sat down to dinner and I can't do it. I wanted to go up to 28 pounds and start cutting after Christmas. I'm chewing on Rennie, chuffing pink goo liquid Pepto and eating smaller regular…

Deadlifts and delts
I've been slowly getting heavier in my conventional deadlifting but as of 3 days ago my right delts in particular have been sore. I did some cupping on them and they seem fine now. I take it my legs and upper back are not strong enough yet (lifting for 16 weeks beginner) hence the delts taking the brunt. I can lift the…

Stiff Leg Deadlifts
So I rammed on the plates and stiff leg deadlifted my way to a set of dodgy hams, glutes and lower back because I was too impatient with weight increments... Thing is, I've read with SLDL's not to go too heavy in general as it's a sure way to snap city. I love the stretch in my hams with this type though and couldn't get…

Struggling with legs
I'm having a hard time, I usually use the squat rack and static lunge 35kg to 40kg and the same with squats. This is done twice a week, 4 sets on a great day or 3 wobbly ones on a poor one. Sometimes it seems not easy but doable but there are days where it feels so hard, getting out 8 reps instead of 12. I was using the…

No budge
My macro calc is 1777 but I went with 1800, upped from then until now to 2000 with no scale budge. Weighed today at 8, 2.6..., 4 weeks ago I was the same. Lifting heavy 4 days a week and hitting macros pretty close to the bone. Could still eat more some days. What would a decent increase be from 2000? I thought 2500 might…

Poor deadlifting hands

Killed it!
With sheer determination and so much advice on this board I've lifted heavier today through all areas. Previous weights are 20kg deadlift now 35kg, squat 20kg now 30kg and same with lunge. I've hammer curled, preacher curled and back exercised my way into a pump today :D Thanks all!
