Cool workout! I'm going to put this on my list! :D

What to do? My suggestion would be working up to the entire exercise by setting the intervals to 15 seconds to start with (or a set number of reps instead), and later increase to the full 30 seconds.

    Work your hip flexors more?
I used to get a lot of discomfort in mine when doing things like cycle crunches and leg raises but that's because they're my weak point. So I did a lot of exercises like hip circles and the flick part of roundhouse kicks along with single leg work. Still get pain when the legs are tired from long runs, but its not so bad and I know it's a good pain rather than injury

Of course, not too sure why I thought to do them at full whack to begin with! Thank you

I fell for this before myself... :D I train at home, and now I'm screening new video workouts while doing my warm-up on the stationary bike. Minimizing painful surprises....
    Best of luck!

He says himself...at the end...that it was tough even for him. I didn't watch it all the way through...d'oh!

My hip ligament and thigh muscles were not happy during walking for some time now. It was suggested to use "Magnesium" - 1 tablet a day to overcome muscle cramps. Done that and after a week pain gone. Stopped the tablets and after 3 days - pain is back. Started again, 3 days later - pain gone again. It seems to help me (despite I hate tablets, just because...) seems to have muscle cramps of sorts. Potassium would be another help, but I can't get it where I live, so I can't comment on that.
