I tri'd again!
Did my second tri (which was supposed to be my first, but then that other one happened) yesterday. I met my goal of NOT coming in last! there were about 50 racers and 3 behind me, so I'm definitely moving up! ;) My 1/2 mile ocean swim went well, I'm just slow as molasses still. Got out of the water with another racer and…

Article on improving your tri time
Just thought I'd share this article on improving your tri time. A lot of it I've heard, but I am convinced that I need a wet suit. Think I'll check into renting one for my tri on 9/22. http://www.mensfitness.com/training/endurance/12-ways-to-improve-your-triathlon-time

Lost my tri-ginity ;)
I've been training for my first sprint tri since June when I signed up for the Long Bay Sprint on 9/22. I've been following the local triathlon club on facebook and have run once with them and swam once with them. I struggled both times. But for some reason when they announced that their Garden City Sprint was open to…

What to wear
I'm doing my first sprint in September with an ocean swim. The water will still be warm here in South Carolina, and I don't want to invest in a wetsuit. That being said, should I just invest in a tri suit to wear for the whole race? Or should I wear a swim suit in the water and then put something on when I get on the bike?…

Week 5 results
I gained a pound this week. I'm thinking it's because I'm building muscle with my new routine. Haven't done any different with calories. Still exercising 6 days a week, 3 running, 3 circuit. Still doing the green smoothies. Trying to add more clean foods in my diet. So I'm sure I will see a loss next week. :)

Run/Walk calorie burn
Hi everyone! I'm in my second week of C25K and was blown away by a 3.5 # weight loss this week! :) What I am trying to figure out is how to accurately log my calories burned on MFP. I have been putting in the total minutes of jogging and the total minutes of walking. However, I know that doing high intensity intervals…

Calculating calories burned based on weight
I love MFP, but my only problem with it is that the calories burned with exercising are not based on your weight. I'm assuming it's based on a "normal" person's weight, or 150 pounds, and probably male. I just wanted to share with everyone this web-based calculator for accurately measuring calories burned. It is based on…
