I assume I will be putting on weight
I assume I will be putting on weight this week, as I had a very variable week food wise, due to having husband at home all week and celebrating my birthday. Exercise wise I was aright and I had three days under calorie goal and four days over calories and a lot of the food had a high level of sodium too. ! So of course…

Ideas to build weights collection
I run three times a week and waiting for our second hand rowing machine to be delivered, so hopefully do that couple times a week. My husband and I also wanted to do some beginner weight related exercise. I borrowed one of the P90 DVD's off a friend (arms and shoulders) and we did enjoy it. But haven't got anywhere near…

What is wrong with my face !
Glancing in the mirror as I clean the bathroom, I jumped 'what is wrong with my face ?' I turned my face slowly and it happened again, a dent in my cheek. Cheekbones ! My cheekbones are coming back and sadly I am so use to my rounded face I forgot I ever had them, silly me :) My new NSV = cheekbones :) Plus lovely husband…

Getting harder to eat all the calories
The healthier the food I am eating the harder it is to meet my daily calories, especially if I exercise as well. Of course on days where I eat rubbish I still struggle to stay under my calories IYSWIM. For example today after breakfast, lunch (including cauliflower pizza) and two morning snacks I have still got 1000…

Can flour have an after taste ?
Since joining MFP I have stopped eating pasta, bread and flour based pizza bases (I really like the cauliflower crust ones) and I felt less bloated and my dodgy bowels (after gall bladder) has improved dramatically. This evening I made a simple pizza base (half cup of plain flour, salt and water , dry fried ) and since I…

20 minute run, wobble
I am going to be doing/trying/failing to do the 20 minute run as part of the C25K training program. Since I read through the descriptions of the different runs, this one always stood out as looking hard. Now it is time to do it and despite doing Week Five runs One and Two OK (tired but did them) I still am panicking over…

If I can run 20 minutes I can (eventually) run 30 minutes ! Yeah me ! Running Rocks.:)

First time running outside, gulp
Husband suggested that we talk the kids for a walk in the woods this afternoon, in our running stuff and take turns doing our C25k week runs OUTSIDE. Up to now I have only run (slowly) inside on a treadmill, where no one can see me wobble IYSWIM. I am excited but worried I'll fail or fall over. But everyone says running…

Saving calories to eat at night ONCE
I am going out tonight to support a friend's charity night and it is a tea and cake thing. Then straight after I'm going out with my lovely husband to the cinema, with my all time favourite food salted popcorn. Now I have already decided I will have a moderate amount at the cake event and a children's portion of cinema…

Please may I hear from big losers (80 to 100 lbs loss) who d
I have noticed a lot of posters on MFP have had weight loss surgery, good on you and it is great to hear people making a success after these operations. As I hope to lose weight without surgery, I would love to hear from success stories from posters who have lost 80 to 100 lbs through watching diet and exercise only. How…

Size 18 here I come :)
I was amazed to get into my old size 20 jeans a few weeks ago, it was just wonderful. Whilst getting my husband some running shoes this weekend, the lady assistant commented that those (size 20 jeans) had quite a lot of room in them. So I must of been smaller than I thought IYSWIM, so I thought I would try an size 18 jeans…

NSV - Belt and Wellies
I had two little NSV today. :) My size 22 jeans are too big so I had to dig out a belt. When I pulled the belt on and fastened it, I had too much end IYSWIM. Looking again I had fastened the belt using three holes smaller than I normally use ! That was fitting comfortably ! Plus the rainy weather meant wearing wellies for…

My First Running NSV
Oh my, another good run ! I'm taking it easy after straining my knee, so through I am technically doing the C25K and ready to run today (rest day yesterday). I thought I would just do something with no proper goals/timing, just for fun. I did 5 minutes warm up, a jog/run and a 5 minutes cool down walking. For the run bit I…

C25K Question - does easy run equal no health benefits ?
Onto Week Three, Run One. First time I have ran in two weeks due to straining knee muscle. Oh boy have I missed running ! Never thought I would say that. I took it really easy and only walked and jogged rather than trying to run faster. I just enjoyed the time and when the final three mins was up, I wanted to keep on…

Advice on Knee Pain
I have been running Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Aerobics Tuesday and Thursday and two days off at the weekend. Last Sunday the inside small muscle (?) on my right knee felt weird, when walking. P90 Shoulders and Arms DVD
First time I have tried using free weights, I borrowed my husbands. I liked the class, the 2.5 weights were right for some exercises but too light and too heavy for others. I guess I'll have to pause the DVD and keep changing the weights over next time. However I found #6.Chair Dips and #15.Side Tri-Rises impossible, I…
