Saving calories to eat at night ONCE

I am going out tonight to support a friend's charity night and it is a tea and cake thing. Then straight after I'm going out with my lovely husband to the cinema, with my all time favourite food salted popcorn.
Now I have already decided I will have a moderate amount at the cake event and a children's portion of cinema salted popcorn.
That is the only way to enjoy my night without binging.
So I have deliberately had a light lunch and will have a light tea, so my calories will not be totally out, to try and save calories in advance...will this work ?
Will this derail me, i.e. eating rubbish and having less food during the day and more at night, if done VERY occasionally.
PS. Any suggestions for a low calorie alcoholic drink. I normal drink cider, larger or red wine ? Not sure if I'll have a drink out but I might have one.
PPs. I have no time to do any exercise today, as I have learnt form MFP....that the first port of call is more exercise, LOL Which I WILL be doing tomorrow.

I have tried similar tactics and they always back fire on me which ends in a food binge. I would recommend doing an extra cardio workout to burn some extra calories so you won't feel so guilty. Good luck!0

Sounds like a good plan to me! All those rules saying you need to eat more at breakfast than at dinner are bunk. It doesn't really matter as long as you stay within your calorie goals (or don't go over too much).
The only drinks you really have to worry about are cocktails because they have syrup in them (like a margarita). Out of the three drinks you listed, I think red wine is your safest bet but I'm not positive on cider. You can always go into the food database and look for all three to see which is best.
As long as you get right back on track and drink tons of water for the next few days (including today) to flush the extra sodium from the popcorn and treats, you should be just fine.
Have fun!0 -
Thanks, so red wine tonight. Then exercise and water to flush my system tomorrow.
Will do0 -
I skipped the wine but just made the calories !
Off to drink more water and have a run planned for tomorrow0
