Can flour have an after taste ?

Since joining MFP I have stopped eating pasta, bread and flour based pizza bases (I really like the cauliflower crust ones) and I felt less bloated and my dodgy bowels (after gall bladder) has improved dramatically.
This evening I made a simple pizza base (half cup of plain flour, salt and water , dry fried ) and since I ate it, I have a horrible tickly furry after taste in my mouth that no amount of water has got rid of. Could this be flour related ? Or am I getting ill ?
Thanks in advance
