I run (slowly) Monday, Wednesday and Friday and do aerobics classes Tuesday and Thursday.

I would like to do some form of strength training at home on the weekend. I am not to clear what is or isn't strength training, I have some free weights I can use or step. Can anyone give me suggestions of a good set of exercises to use/ dvd to follow

A friend suggested a 'shred' thing is that strength training ?

TIA

I love Bill Phillips' theories. Go to your local library and check out "Body for Life".

  • hi :) i only use 2.2kg hand weights (i dont have alot of upper body strength its all in my legs lol) i do excersises from p90x arms and shoulders dvd. arms are def more toned and my back has alot more muscle tone. :)
  • the 30 day shred combines cardio strength and abs so yes it is.
also if u have on demand go into fitness tv or go to their website theres tons of free workouts from 10minutes to an hour of strength training and they change constantly so ur never bored and u can find a trainer u like with the investment of a ton of cash in dvds.

Good suggests I will look into the book/DVD mentioned.

Plus excellent suggestion on using the tv, I have Fitness TV and another health channel and have a couple of classes marked for me to try when I have a minute.
