100 by Christmas Challenge
I have set myself a goal of running 100 miles by Christmas (in less than 100 days) I am hoping this will get me back to C25K (I stalled at wk 7 mid August) and to the point where I can run 10 miles in one week. Anyone else want to do 100 by Christmas? Could be 100k (shorter than 100 miles) or 100 push ups or 100 hours on…

SALT
For those who want to track salt better, I have noticed that a lot of the foods on here have the wrong values in the Sodium as it looks like people add foods but enter the salt/sodium in g not mg. This helps http://oxsalt.org.uk/db/?page_id=37#salttosodiumcalculator

Started again on 1st of Jan and already a result!
In addition to tracking weight I also track body fat and six measurements (Bust, Waist, Hips, Thigh, Knee and Arm) Of all the small achievements in my first week back after the Christmas holidays the one I am most extatic about is 1/2 inch of my thigh. So one week in - what small achievement do you feel like celebrating?

Restarting workouts after ankle/foot injury
I fell off my back door step and landed badly on the side of my foot. Slight sprain with a lot of bruising and soft tissue damage. My GP's advice about exercise is to 'be guided by the pain' i.e. if it hurts don't do it! Can anyone recommend exercise that can burn calories in a short amount of time indoors which do not…

Starting C25K on Monday (17th Oct)... want to join me?
I have been putting this off for ages, worrying about my knees, wanting to just exercise in the privacy of my own home but this is something I really want to do and if I start it now I should be running for 30 mins by Christmas... and lets face it people, that time of year is a time when we could all do with burning some…

Was it something I said?
Sometimes what other people say can have a profound effect, without them realising it. My family are not really the touchy feely supportive type. I was discussing with my sister how frustrating it was to have gained nearly 20lbs having been on medication since April, when I had worked so hard last year to lose 20lbs of…

Tips for increasing protein in my diet
My first thoughts are to increase what I like while minimising what isn't so good for me, so I made a list of all of the major protein in my diet recently and sorted two lists: TOP 4: Chicken Breast, Turkey Breast, Pork Loin Chop, Lean Beef MINIMISE: Bacon, Cheddar, Eggs, Salmon The minimise list are all high in fat. The…

Healthy diet to reduce cholesterol
In advance of my cholesterol check tomorrow I was wondering if anyone has any tips, links to websites etc that could help me reduce foods that are not good from a cholesterol point of view and replace them with foods that are good, or even that could help reduce cholesterol. I have a family history of heart disease and…

Question about Turbo Fire program
I have seen on the website that there are lots of different types and lengths of workouts and a program of which classes to do. I am thinking about getting this but would like to know a bit more about the program to see if I can fit it into my life! Could someone give me a brief rundown of what classes you do when? Thanks

What next?
Done day 17 of 30 Day Shred and I am loving it (mostly) and I am wondering what next. I have looked at a couple of options: Insanity, Turbo Fire, other JM DVD's. In truth I am not fit at all (although 30DS is doing a lot to improve that!) and I lack co-ordination and balance. I have very little upper body strength so get…

Even the smallest NSV's add up to a great feeling!
While showering after my workout and walk this morning I noticed something that got me really excited - the little dimples in my thighs, the ones that just show how much fat is there (girls - you know what I mean!) are GONE! All of them. Got a mirror and checked the back of my thighs too. Only on day 6 of 30DS and doing a…

Inspirational Quotes
I have noticed that a lot of people have an inspirational quote in their signature. I read a great one today. I have always thought that the difference between success and failure is action and this sums it up! "We are what we repeatedly do" - Aristotle What inspirational quotes does everyone else have?

Help with carbohydrate cravings
I am currently taking a medication where the major side effect for me is "increased appetite" - which for me is carbohydrate cravings. I have never really been a big fan of cakes or biscuits, traditionally my downfall has been crisps but at the moment I am craving all carbs and to be honest food in general. I have…

Please help - follow my blog
I am starting up again. I have a plan. But I am terrible at sticking with it so I would really appreciate some company for my journey. I would especially love to find someone in a similar situation to me. I have 18lbs to lose and I need to increase my fitness for the sake of my physical and mental health and to keep up…

Wii games
So far I have Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports & Wii Sports Resort and Biggest Loser. I have found the Biggest Loser game really helpful. In fact before using it I had never bothered counting calories. Then I started and realised how eratic my eating was... 500 kcal some days and 3500 kcal on others! In fact it's why I ended up…
