Hi from 2011!
So in 2011/2012 I was super active on here, lost 30+ lbs, had a bunch of friends I talked to who really helped me stay motivated. I've tried over the years to get going on MFP again, but life (and now 2 kids) seem to keep getting in the way. I think a key to my success in the past was having a network of buddies on my feed…

Losing weight while strength training
Hi folks, Looking for some advice on my exercise routine. I'm currently trying to lose about 30lbs and get back in shape. I'm 155lbs right now and a few years ago (before having a baby!) I had a similar goal, lost around 30lbs and put on some muscle. I was really happy with how I looked and felt then, so I know what my…

I'm back, and would like some more friends!
Hi all, MFP helped me lose 25lbs a couple years ago and I am getting back at it after having a baby and spending too long being lazy. I've still got some of my original wonderful friends on here, but many have gone inactive since then and I'd love some more people to connect with so we can motivate each other. It would be…

Six months on MFP pics (and why you should weight train!)
Hi All, I realized it's my 6 month MFP anniversary, and since I haven't posted any photos so far, maybe it's time. And a little disclaimer: Yeah, these photos are bad, grainy and some are blurry. They were just for my own reference, so don't expect photographic magic here :) The main reason I'm posting these though is I…

Finally at goal weight! 25lbs lost with pics
Well, I finally hit my goal weight just before my wedding and Aruba honeymoon - my main motivator for joining MFP originally. I lost 25lbs and got a lot stronger, which took me about 8 months. I did a detailed post about my progress awhile back:…

What exactly does this mean?
On some of the exercise descriptions in the book, it says "finish all reps, then switch sides and repeat the set". So if you're doing 10 reps, does that mean you actually do 20?? 10 on each side? Or does if just mean do 10 on one side, then on your next set, do the other side?

Does this workout feel short?
I just started NROL on Monday. I am really enjoying it so far, but it is taking some getting used to that the workout is so short. I am sore so I know I am getting the benefit, but I am used to doing much longer workouts and it feels sort of weird getting in and out of the gym so quickly! I do a ten minute cardio warmup…

Goal weight and body fat for 5' 3.75" ?
Interested to know the goal weight and/or body fat target that others of my height have set for themselves. I have never really set a specific weight goal for myself, so it's hard for me to judge (I'm sure I'll just have to see how it goes to some extent and adjust if need be). My current goal is to weigh 125. I currently…

Polar FT4 - chest strap sold seperately?
Hi guys - I can't seem to find the answer to this online, but I'm sure some of you can help! I bought a Polar FT4 HRM off of eBay. It came with the watch and the little WearLink transmitter that clips to the chest stap, but there was no chest strap included. I was under the impression it would be included, and the package…

Tool for calculating calories burned
I just came across this and thought I'd share: http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm It's a calculator that tells you how many calories you've burned based on age, weight, average heart rate, and duration of exercise. It may not be super accurate but if you don't have a HRM it could be helpful. Only thing is you'd need to…

New and looking for friends!
Hi all, First day using this site/app and would like to find some others who can help motivate me, and I can help do the same for them! I'm 27 (28 next week, ahh!) and getting married next June. I have always been pretty health-conscious but have been letting it slide a bit lately..want to start my marriage 20 pounds…
