Pasta sauce ideas?

Options
So I had a craving for some whole wheat bowties with marinara sauce tonight for dinner..then I realized I'm out of marinara or any other pasta sauces :( Anyone have pasta sauce ideas that are relatively quick to whip up? I think I have some canned diced tomatoes I could use..

Blitz the tomatoes down, chuck in some basil, and garlic..... job done, you can add a pinch of sugar to take the bitterness out the tomatoes if its needed. :-D

tomatoes, garlic, basil (i use italian seasoning) little bit of olive oil and salt/pepper to taste.

heat the oil in a skillet, add the garlic (til tender), add everything else, if it's diced tomatoes, smush them up a bit while you're cooking them. add salt/pepper to taste. voila!

I love Giada's marinara sauce recipe, but it takes a while to make.

When I need something quick, I follow the general recipe but just don't cook it as long. I use tomato sauce or diced tomatoes, pulverize the veggies with my chopper. Leave out the 1/2 cup of oil and saute the veggies in a pan sprayed with olive oil. Then just add the tomatoes and cook til heated through. I use my immersion blender to get rid of the chunks.
