Search not working?
This is probably the wrong place to post but is anyone else having problems today with the search food part? I’m trying to add in a cookie I ate last night but it says there is no food in the search for that. So I tried several other different items and nothing comes up. No food at all!

My body fat tested and I’m feeling extremely sad and discouraged
My body fat tested and I’m feeling extremely sad and discouraged. I’ve been working so hard and I am kind of stuck so I thought I would go get a DEXA fit scan and my body fat percentage was off their charts I’m 43.9% body fat! I know better but mentally in my head I was saying oh as long as I’m in my mid-30s I will be OK…

Anyone had a dexa fit scan?
Anyone had a dexa fit scan? I’m curious about how it works. I get very frustrated at my weight that doesn’t seem to budge no matter how I work out. And eat. Maybe focusing on fat loss would help? Do they give you a calorie goal there as well? Just wanted to get some real people reviews!

1200 seems low?
Why does mfp always give me around 1200 calories? I put sedentary or whatever the lowest is and then a small loss a week but it always seems to be some variant of around 1200. I just let my Apple Watch I put calories burned for my exercise numbers. I usually work out five times a week. At least since quarantined started. I…

Eating under calorie limit to save for one weekly big meal
Does anyone “bank” calories during the week to save for one night out a week? I know weight watchers used to have a flexible points system like that but I was wondering if anyone did this that wasn’t on weight watchers? I would like to go under my calorie limit during the week just to say for one night out with my husband…

Confused about BMR/MFP calories
So I’m 5’4”, 173.6 lbs, 46 year old female. When I run the numbers though the MFP BMR calculator I get 1412. So I am supposed to eat that for a minimum calories right? Now I have my activity set to sedentary because my job really is and I just add my exercise calories burnt separately MFP then gives me 1200 calories a day…

Switching from Optavia and nervous!
Hi! I’ve been on and off MFP for awhile now. Tried every diet I can think of and still right back in the same spot. I recently tried Optavia about a month ago and while I have had modest loss, I think the soy in the products has aggravated my Hashimotos. So I am back and going to go all in to calorie counting and trying to…

Beginning women's weight workout?
I'm ready to finally start adding weight training to my program again. I did it as a teenager and young adult but not in a long time. I'm 44-year-old woman with about 20 pounds to lose and a lot of fat to lose. I tried the first day of strong lifts yesterday with just the bar and I hurt bad!! I don't think there's anyway…

Newbie question about deadlifts using just the barbell
This is my second workout day with StrongLifts and I am supposed to do deadlifts today. My question is if I'm not using plates on the barbell how do I place it on the floor so I'm not bending completely over every time I'm lifting the bar? I'm not sure if that makes sense. When I watch the videos on deadlifts it seems…

Recommend a weight training DVD?
I am looking for recommendations for a full body weight training DVD or system. I walk and ride my horse for cardio but I need to tone up. I've done the firm but it seems a little outdated and have also done P90x but an hour a day is way more than I will stick to. I'm trying to do everything in moderation this time! I am a…

How do you fit charge HR on your ankle?
I realize that sounds odd! Normally it's on my wrist but when I push the stroller it doesn't count my steps accurately. I read that some people put it on their ankles for these times. How do you get it to fit on your ankle? My charge is small size and fits my wrist with very little extra. No way it will go on my ankle? Do…

Annoyed and need a pep talk
Finally lost 7 lbs before Christmas, gained it all back. Grr. Then two weeks ago started Fitbit challenges walking and tracking good again. Lost 1 lb. which I was happy with. Now this past week caught a horrible flu. Gained my lb back even with vomiting and diarrhea. Probably from Gatorade and saltines. Annoyed!!! Back on…

Starting walking a lot and gaining weight?!?
I started MFP a bit before Christmas and was down 7 lbs which I put back on the week of Christmas! So Jan 3 I got out my old Fitbit and joined a group challenge and went back to food tracking. My step count is awesome!!-12,000-20,000 a day!! Eating 1200-1500 calories a day. Saving some calories for a birthday dinner coming…

Weight gain from short course of prednisone?
I'm coming off a foot injury and my doctor has prescribed a 6 day course of prednisone for my inflammation. I've also just been on MFP for 2 weeks with a loss. Yay!! Normally I never take prescribed steroids because I don't like them for various reasons I am a nurse practitioner and do have knowledge about them. However my…

Anyone save calories for splurges?
I'm on a 1200 calorie limit right now. I have a Fitbit and only eat back half of the exercise calories I earn if I absolutely need it. I was wondering if I could bank some exercise calories to use later in the week. Kind of like weight watchers does with its weekly allowance points. If it keeps me under my weekly totals.…

so confused about how many calories to eat! Between Fitbit, NEAT, TDEE, or 1200! Too much info
I'll try to make it short. I've been on and off a diet for what seems to be forever and I finally just want to do it normally. But I get different info about how much to eat to lose weight. Currently I am 43, female, 172 lbs, 5'5". I used to work out a lot but a sedentary job and now a foot injury with a walking boot has…

Discrepancy between HRM cal burned and bodymedia
I just got a body media link 6 days ago so bear with me if I'm slow on the uptake ;) . I wear it daily, averaged 2300 cal burn out of my 2500 goal. Eat around 800-1000 calorie deficit. I usually walk fast for an hour daily. It's florida and still hot! My polar hrm I wear when walking puts me at 482 calories burned for 62…

Confused about workout calories and fitbit and MFP
Ok, I'll try to make this not confusing but it is!! MFP gives me 1200 calories per day. When I work out, I wear a heart rate monitor then log in the calories it says I burned during my daily workout. Now I just bought a fitbit and synced it to MFP and the steps and supposed calories burn from them goes on MFP and counts as…
