I'm terrible at this, help!
Howdy. I'm 38, and I've been doing MFP for years, off and on. After having my kids (they're 16 and 13), I jumped from my normal size 12 (about 160 lbs): To about 220 and a size 22: I stayed there for a good long while, but then used MFP to drop back to 150 lbs in a size 10: However, I started new meds and got into a car…

From an 18 to a 6, 45ish something lbs down since Quarantine
So, that's me, last week, finally donating some jeans from January of 2020. Those are 18s, and I'm now a 6. It says 71 lbs because (a few years ago) I went from somewhere in the 200s down to 150, and then had acar accident and surgery and went back to the 180s. 180s was a 6/18 for me, and I'm down to the mid 130s now, and…

How to drink more water?
I have an aversion to water, and so am generally dehydrated. My dad and my grandmother also had this problem and I've been "treating" it with carbonated water and unsweetened iced tea, but...I don't feel thirsty, and drinking too much makes me have to pee every 15 minutes (difficult, since I'm a teacher). Still, I'm…

Chemo/Other Meds and Getting Healthy
Hey there! I'm Carissa, I'm 5ft 3 and 178lbs. I've lost 60 lbs, and then gained 40 back due to a car wreck and some new diagnoses, so I hopped back onto MFP to log appropriately and drop that weight back off. I'm 10 down again (s, 30 lbs to go, yay). But: Food is hard. The med I am on now is methotrexate (a chemo med) for…

New fitbit person. Help?
I have been using MFP for forever and it has been a great tool for me, and has done me a lot of good. In a show of support, my husband and roommate suggested (badgered) me into a Charge HR fitbit. I set up an account, put it on and. . . now what? I know that my steps will be wrong because I am an American Sign Language…

Car wreck!
I broke my patella and jammed both wrists in an accident on 2/23, and I am barely holding it together. I have a big event to be a part of in early May, and need to not gain out of the dress, but now even walking is just killing me. Motivate me? Help me? I'm heading into PT today (ugh) but other than that, I'm doing this…

Disabled MFP-er group
Hey! We have a group called "Disabled MFP-ers With Attitude" so that those of us working to be healthier, but dealing with the additional obstacle of a disability, have a place to talk/share/vent/brainstorm. Not limited to those who use chairs or mobility aids, but a generally positive place. If you'd like to join, use the…

Are there any of us in here?
Saw the group, now curious if it's active or not. :)

20 lbs by Christmas? Wanna work together?
That's about 1lb a week from now until Christmas (give or take one or two) and that seems like a good goal (in that it is both a challenge and attainable). Should we start a group? Do biweekly check ins? I've found that those kind of things have been very helpful for me, and I didn't know if anyone wanted to do an August -…

Helpf for beginner?
Not me, actually, but bear me out, huh? When I started MFP, one of the things that I found helped a lot was these "challenges" where you are doing the same workout as your friends (everyone does 30 Day Shred together, or the Spartacus workout or some number of squats). I've got my own set of workouts now, but I was…

A year of lifestyle changes
So, last December, I decided I just couldn't handle it anymore. I just couldn't handle being sick, carrying so much fat, and feeling like death all the time. In a year that was, for us, relatively calm I started this whole weight-loss/health journey for what I knew would be the last time. If I failed, or if I did…

Biking 1000 miles in 2012
So, I used to be an avid biker, but then broke my leg and have been trying to get back ever since. However, when I set myself too high of a goal, and I don't make it, I get frustrated really easily. So, here's my attainable goal for the year: Bike 1000 miles in 2012. Indoor/stationary or outdoor/commuting, doesn't matter…

Favorite Pinup Poses?
I told my husband that if I ever lost the weight to get down to where I was when we met in high school, I'd go get a professional pinup photo done. Seemed safe, as I was 208 lbs and a size 18/20 when I made the promise, and 160 lbs and a size 12/14 in high school. Well, here I sit at 164 lbs at a size 8/10, and I realize…

6 week - Mixed Jillian Challenge
I'm starting a 6 week challenge of mixed Jillian workouts (mine is a day of "30 DS", 1 day of her "Burn Fat Boost Metabolism", 1 day of her "6 week 6 pack" and repeat for 6 days a week). I feel like I'll be less bored than just doing 30DS, and it gives me some new moves, too. I don't usually make it all the way through…

My NSV today
So, since January I've lost 33 lbs, run a 5k and a half marathon and fit into size 12 dresses and pants (from an 18). Yesterday, doing Jillian's 6 week 6pack, I actually was able to touch my toes doing diagonal pikes (get-ups) and long-lever crunches. Every time I went up, my fingers hit my toes. 6 weeks ago, I couldn't do…

Dress help!
So, I want to buy a nice, non-Target dress for my anniversary. I don't own anything nice, and I really want it to be worth it. Here's what I look like (more or less. That was 180 and I'm 176 now): Here are the two dresses I'm looking at: So, I have a similar figure to the model in the photos, except I'm shorter and have a…

NSVs (2 in one day!)
So, at 28 lbs down, I found out I had to have special clothes for a wok assignment tomorrow (specifically, steel-toed boots because I can't find mine). So, it was off to the dreaded Mall to pick up cheap boots. While the people were looking for my size, I headed into the Lane Bryant across the walkway, to try on pants. The…

Water Displacement Test
I really want to get a bodyfat test done in about 5 lbs, or the end of the summer. Anyone know HOW to go about finding a place to do that, or how much it would cost? I don't go to a gym (broke) and I workout at home, but I haven't had one of these done since high-school, so it would be a very good thing to know.

Changes?
So, I've been getting smaller. I know that. I just don't really feel like it, despite the 28 lbs. My clothes still don't fit right (except now my bras are all uncomfortable) and I still get winded and tired. I CAN exercise more, which is great, but that doesn't really fix how uncomfy I am in my won skin. Plus, I'm kicking…

Cheat Days?
I'm not talking about once a week, or even once a month, but for big, family holidays where multiple people cook, and you have no idea how to log anything anyway. I mean, who knows what my mother puts in the food she cooks? I see her 2x a year...and that's about it. Not eating her food would be rude, and asking her to…

Goals
I have my 1st adult 5k on Sunday. Another one in 2 weeks. Then, in mid-May, I have a half marathon (WTF am I thinking) and a 3/4 century bike ride in August. I LOVE biking, and have done 40-50 mile rides pulling my kids, so I'm not to worried about the rides (although I haven't been *outside* on a bike in a long…

30 Day Shred (is this typical?)
Nevermind. It won't let me post pictures, so I can't ask what I wanted to. I put it up on my MFP blog instead. (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/cmm7303/view/30-day-shred-what-was-the-point-and-2-months-on-mfp-220938) Why can't we add images OR use HTML in the message boards?

Heart Rate Monitor Help
Hello there. I've never been one for gadgets, but as I've been training for a half marathon, and I keep having friend suggest that I get one. So, here's what I need my ideal HRM to have. 1) HRM 2) Watch 3) Pedometer (I need to figure out how far I am walking) 4) A programmable interval timer. I want to be able to do…

How do you log the 30 day shred?
It isn't coming up in the database, and hubby and I are starting it tomorrow.

Running/walking 500 miles in 2012
I'm a biker, not a runner/walker, so I'm slowly picking this up because I know it is good for me. A friend did almost 1,000 running in 2011, and while I still alternate running and walking on my treks out, I think about half of her goal is a good goal for me. I'll update when I hit milestones! Anyone want to join me?

Anyone in the US have a 30 Day Shred DVD they're done with?
I'd like to try it out, but don't have the funds for workout DVDs (or much of anything, really). Would happily pay for postage.

Alright, here I go!
Hi, my name is Carissa, I'm 28, 5' 3", and I'm trying to lose about 50 lbs. I'd like some buddies, besides my husband, but all the short women on here are trying to go from 140 to 105 lbs. This is NOT my goal. Here's the deal. In middle and high school I was a football player. My freshman year I was a size 9, weighed 125…
