Stronger abs, thinner waist.. Broscience?
Ok, so you can't spot reduce. Crunches will do nothing to get your 6-pack visible behind all that fat. But... If I train my abs, will they in turn hold my stomach in tighter, thusly helping to reduce my waist measurement? Feels like broscience.. But doesn't sound too crazy. Thoughts?

Stronglifts - lifting on the rest days
So I'm doing SL5x5 Mon,Wed,Fri. I hit the gym for a bit of light cardio on the other days of the week, just so I can eat a reasonable amount those days and still maintaining a calorie deficit. However, I miss the weights on those days.. I've started just going chin ups, but ideally want to get a few lifts going that wont…

How many portions of fruit/veg?
Is it just me that finds hitting the daily fruit/veg target quite hard? It may become second nature, but at the moment it's a proper chore. I think I've done quite well over the past couple of days, but I think I might struggle going forward. Any tips? Edit : my food diary is open, if you want a peek.

What weighs are you lifting for these...
Just curious about how the difference in the weights between lifts compares to everyone else. Not trying to see who can lift the most, but the differences between the individual lifts. All these weights are for 5x5, I haven't hit a plateau yet... But my bench press feels like its getting there, as I find them pretty tough…

Creatine - best to take on a bulk?
Am i right in thinking that there's little point taking creatine when on a calorie deficit? Building muscle and a calorie surplus go hand in hand, so i can't imagine that taking creatine on a deficit is much good. Thoughts?

Dumbbell squats or smith machine squats
They don't have a squat rack at my gym, so I've been doing squats on the smith machine.. Would I be better off just using dumbbells until I change my gym to a better one, or are smith machine squats not as bad as everyone makes out?

Losing mass, LBM-Fat ratio's.
Not finding a massive amount of google, so thought i'd post here. Weigh in 1 : 93.9kg, bf% 25.2 bfm=23.6 Weigh in 2 : 89.5kg, bf% 22.6 bfm=20.2 So i lost 4.4kg, of which 3.4kg was fat. So if you trust the figures, my lbm-fat loss ratio is 1:3.4 Now i'm not crazy about this ratio, and would be happier if it was a bit…

Appetite has increased !!
Since I've moved to free weights and have stayed focused about pushing myself, my appetite has gone crazy. A month ago, I was ok netting 1200 (not hungry), but now I'm so much more hungry and am up in the 1800-2000 range. Does this sound normal, or just a coincidence? Other people find the same thing?

Advice on retaining muscle during my weight loss
I'm conscious that during my weight loss, i want to retain as much muscle on the way down. I don't want to get down to 75kg, then want to consider bulking up. Food diary is open, yes...
