Creatine - best to take on a bulk?

Am i right in thinking that there's little point taking creatine when on a calorie deficit?
Building muscle and a calorie surplus go hand in hand, so i can't imagine that taking creatine on a deficit is much good.

Thoughts?

I still take it for recomp. The point is to help you get those last couple of reps, which you're still going to want whether you're trying to build or just not lose muscle.

You can take creatine whenever. Remember, creatine is a non essential amino acid which means that it is produced by the human body naturally from the foods you eat - so you've already got creatine in your system without supplementation. Creatine provides more energy to your muscles during workouts, which can be usefull during bulks to gain muscle or during cuts to retain as much muscle mass as possible while losing weight - both fat and muscle are compromised during a calorie deficit.

I don't get it. What's wrong with women using creatine? It either works or it doesn't. It doesn't target your testicles. 95% of the creatine in your body is located in skeletal muscle cells. Women have skeletal muscle cells too.

The only reason I would say not to use it while cutting is if you were super concerned with the extra calories. Most creatine products come in a drink that's loaded with calories to help your creatine upload. If you don't mind the extra 150 - 200 calories then try it out. The stuff works.

5g Creatine Monohydrate for life as long as you're lifting.

You can do hours and hours of research, you will eventually come to this conclusion ^^
