Getting Past Putdowns
My dad is at my house today and I've forgotton how much he bugs me. I have heard several things that just needle me. "You need to go down just 6 more sizes" (Like it's that easy), or "I brought donuts, but not for you." (I wasn't going to touch them.) He thinks it's hysterical and it just annoys the crap out of me. I know…

Looking for Friends, Have 100+ lbs. still to lose!
Hi Guys! My name is Betsy, and I'm 33 years old. Last May I started MFP just logging calories, and then started excercise. I've lost 88 lbs. so far, but still have a long way to go. I love to encourage everyone's journey here, and get advice when I run into a problem or question. I'm looking for more friends to join with…

Zig Zagging Calories?
I've set my daily goal calories at 1700, per the nutritionist's recommendation, but am stuck. I have my diary open and would welcome any advice. I've heard of some people zigzagging their calorie goals, and that sometimes you need to "shock" your system. Thoughts on this? Thanks for taking a look!

Help! Need Advice!
I've set my daily goal calories at 1700, per the nutritionist's recommendation. I sometimes eat my excercise calories back. I'm doing strength training and cardio 4-5 days a week (elliptical, treadmill, stairclimber). I've lost 87 lbs. so far and have been hovering around 318-320 for a few weeks now. I know some of it was…

Shocking the Body?
I'm doing strength training and cardio 4-5 days a week (elliptical, treadmill, stairclimber). I've lost 87 lbs. so far and have been hovering around 318-320 for a few weeks now. I'm thinking of mixing up the cardio to incorporate a class with higher intensity (cardio bootcamp or zumba). I've heard that sometimes you need…

Lean Cuisine Alternative?
I'm not usually a big fan of Lean Cuisine frozen foods. They are so high in sodium, but sometimes I just crave eggrolls. They have a Thai-Style Chicken Spring Roll that isn't too terrible at 390 mg. Does anyone have any suggestions for lower sodium rolls?

Weird NSV to feel happy about!
I just completed an hour of intense yardwork raking and hoeing weeds. As sweat was pouring off my face (more than at the gym!) I thought, Wow, I would've fallen over and died if I tried this a year ago. Not only does my yard look great, I still have energy. I used to get winded tying my shoelaces. So weird to feel happy…

Men in Zumba Class
I'm trying to get my husband to join me at a Zumba class. I used this youtube vid to prove that dudes represent in these classes. He actually looks almost like the guy in the gray Nike shirt. Doesn't he have swagger? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c3cne4N1OI&list

Embarrassment at the Gym
Had a bit of an embarrassment at the gym this morning. Was working on a machine with my trainer, I think a glute extension (I call it donkeykick). She was having me put my heel on the bar to push and my heel slipped off. The bar crashed down and smacked my other knee. Another trainer came up and said, "Well that was a…

Salmon Suggestions??
Hey Guys! I have two beautiful Copper River wild salmon fillets, and not much inspiration of how to cook them. I usually do them on the George Foreman grill and they end up being SO dry!! Any suggestions on recipes and cooking times would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to ruin beautiful Alaska salmon fillets.

Determining Strength Training Calories Burned?
Hi Everyone, I never log in my strength training I do during the week into MFP, and only end up logging my cardio. I'm not sure where to begin in trying to figure that out. I'm sure it varies wildly from person to person based on intensity, etc. Any suggestions on trying to track this? I do 2-3 hours a week of strength…

Hi Everyone, I've been a member of this site for a while now and have come to realize the importance of having a support system. Suggestions for staying on track while on vacation!
Hi Everyone, I'm going on vacation to see family and already know they want to go out to restaurants and cook for us. I want to make sure that I go with the mindset that this is a vacation, but not from my goals. I'm trying to come up with a plan to stick to goals while out of my normal routine. I used to think vacation…
