Fats and Protein
I actually have about 20483 questions, but I will ask two. I have had a really off period because I've been kind of down in the dumps and had some family medical issues going on, and I've decided that Monday I will get back on the horse with renewed gusto. But I think I've realized two mistakes I'm making with my nutrition…

Dumbbell complexes
Has anyone ever done dumbbell complexes? I just started today. I was trying to do 6 exercises. 6 sets of 10 reps. I ALMOST got through 5 sets. :(

Rest Times and Other Things
Today I was told that apparently I should be trying to decrease my rest times. So, how do I know how long my rest times should be? Also, anyone have any good ideas about how to get this kind of information, because I seem to keep learning things later than I would like to... :)

Maybe TMI
Does anyone have any tips to prevent skin irritation from working out? Is there something special you can put on your skin, so when your clothes rub against your body, the skin doesn't get irritated?

2 TBSP PB = 36g = 190 calories = Sadnesses
Why is this happening to me?

Nonfat Milk!
So, I drink a lot of nonfat milk with protein powder, but I feel like it may be too much. Four cups of milk a day! Is that much milk freakishly abnormal, or what?

How do I approach cardio?
I am pretty sure I need to do cardio at least four times a week, because of what I guess my "goals" should be right now--mostly focusing on losing fat. But how long do I need to do cardio? How hard should I be working? Is the "fat burn zone" real or a myth?

Polar FT7 malfunction
I recently purchased a Polar FT7, and I have tried to use it twice, and both times I got WAY too high numbers for calories burned. Anyone have any tips on how to use this thing, or any idea what I'm doing wrong? THANKS!

Going to ask a million questions. Please don't judge me.
Okay, last Friday I met with a trainer so he could show me some exercises and help me determine what weights I should be using for those exercises. He told me to start off by doing 3 sets of 10 on each exercise. He told me to come back to him in 6-8 weeks to reassess how things were going. I am doing MWF lifting, and that…

A couple of weight lifting questions...
I met with a trainer who showed me some exercises to do and helped to figure out the weights. He recommended 3 sets of 10 repetitions. On some of the exercises, I don't think I can do that (maybe I could if I did the exercises in a certain order, if that makes any sense). Should I just push through it? I feel like I would…

Weight Lifting Exercises
For someone who was just beginning, what would be the three upper body and three lower body exercises you would recommend learning first? I am going to meet with someone today who is supposed to show me how to use some machines and get started, but I am scared I might be too unprepared to be prepared.

C25K--Am I not pushing myself enough?
I see people posting about running and it sounds like they are on the verge of dying afterwards. The first couple times I ran last week, I was pretty sore, but then I decided to walk about a mile or two before I started actually doing the jogging intervals and haven't experienced pain. I also was reading something that…

Goal Weights and Things
So, I am getting very close to the lowest weight that I can remember being in my adult life--which is not my goal weight of 155. But as I'm getting closer to this weight (165), I am starting to wonder if I remembered what it was like being at this weight differently than the way it really was... I chose a goal of 155,…

This is basically just going to be me being angry.
So, I'm losing weight according to the scale--it's not been hard really, but I'm young and male, so I guess it is somewhat expected that it might be easy to me. But my scale is really crazy, I can step on it three times and weigh one weight...wait a minute or so, and then weight a totally different weight... So you are…

What do you eat when...
You are so tired you don't want to make anything or go anywhere to get anything. Starving is the only answer, right? Right?

Doesn't this sound like diabetes?
So, this is something that I have that is very good, but I worry it may be TOO good. It's basically vanilla greek yogurt, a whey protein powder, peanut butter and almonds mixed together. And then I drink milk with it. Who needs chocolate?

Opinions on weight lifting
So, I have two dumbbells that go up to 25 pounds each. In the fall, I will have access to a gym with basically every piece of equipment I could want. Should I start to lift the 25 pound dumbbells now, or wait until I can start with heavier weights?

Maybe I'm crazy?
So, I weigh myself this morning. I was very scared I wouldn't lose this week, because I have been very inactive due to illness and been on prednisone. But the weight just seemed wrong. So I had to change the batteries. And then I took a weight and put it on the scale--and I think, I have to accept--it must be right!

Skipping Meals
I have been sick for a few days now, and been sleeping a lot--even through my normal meal times. Do you try to "catch up" on your calories when you skip? I'm eating breakfast now and thinking that in about 30 minutes, it will be lunch time!

Grocery
Going to the grocery today--what thing do you recommend I add to my food "oeuvre"? Pretty much been eating the same things for almost 50 days--yogurts, cottage cheese, eggs, grilled chicken, black beans, tuna, salmon (on occasion), more almonds than I ever wanted to eat, occasional PB, bananas, oatmeal, Fiber One and Kashi…

Loss of muscle
So, I am trying to eat a lot of calories (or more than a lot of people seem to around here) so I don't lose muscle mass. I have no muscle mass to begin with, so I really can't afford to lose any, and I don't want to lose weight too quickly in an unhealthy manner. I do not currently work out, because I'm not really on a…

35 Days!
This is my 35th day on MFP. At first, I started eating very low amount of calories, but after reading the advice in the forums, upped my calories to around 1850/day. Then, when MFP wanted me to reassess my goals, I changed my activity level to lightly active and upped my calories to 1950/day. I have lost 11 pounds--but…

Mood Swings
Anyone experience any kind of mood changes after beginning to eat healthier? I've been very positive and happy, but also crying a lot--happy crying, I guess. Weird, no?

Snack Ideas
So, after work, I usually eat a snack. Lately, that snack has been nonfat yogurt. I bought some Fage, and it's amazing--but, 340g of yogurt is a lot of yogurt to eat, and I'm eating that much to get my calories for the day. Any suggestions on something a little sweet, but still good for you? I don't need cookies or…

Using a food scale.
So, I bought a food scale. It seems like a lot of foods end up being way off from what I would expect. A cup of spinach or kale is HUGE. Same with yogurt, I guess? Am I doing something wrong?

MFP wants to "change my goals"?
I weigh in on Tuesdays, and after I entered my weight today, MFP suggested I "change my goals". I clicked "Yes", but I had already had a custom goal anyway, so I don't think it had an effect. Then I decided to go to a "Guided" goal, and it made my calorie intake a bit lower--do you think I should reset my goal to what I…

What is this mess?
So, I exercised last night. It basically consisted of me jumping, "dancing", walking quickly, jogging and doing squats and lunges randomly. I enjoyed it, but the problem is--how do I log it? I'm kind of thinking I should pick something easier to log, but the idea of jogging or running is daunting. Even walking--bleh. Any…

Whey protein and other supplements
Does anyone use whey protein or any other kind of supplement several times a day, or perhaps make it a good part of their diet? I keep being short calories, but I feel weird about using whey so much. Thoughts?

Tips on adding calories, but not necessarily carbs.
I'm not trying to eat low carb by any means! But I'm also not trying to go over what MFP is recommending for me to eat for carbohydrates. I'm probably just being paranoid--I have 60-100 carbs left most days--I should just eat them, right? What are some foods that add calories, but not carbs? I don't want to feel like I'm…

Eating at BMR+ and friends
Hey everyone-- I just recently figured out I need to be eating above my BMR (luckily I've only been counting for the past week or so, so it's not causing a huge upheaval to what I'm doing), but am finding it difficult to eat so much. I also feel that since I'm eating so many calories, I need to make sure what I'm eating is…
